Chinese Journal of Infection Control 2014;(5):287-290,295
Objective To assess clinical efficacy and safety of linezolid in treating postoperative intracranial infec-tion after neurosurgery operation, and provide clinical basis for the treatment of postoperative intracranial infection. Methods From January 2011 to December 2012,clinical data of 51 neurosurgery patients receiving linezolid for trea-ting postoperative intracranial infection were collected, changes in symptoms, temperature, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)bacterial culture,as well as white blood cell (WBC)count, protein and glucose in CSF before and after therapy were compared, clinical efficacy and safety of linezolid in the treatment of postoperative intracranial infection were assessed based on the diagnostic criteria for intracranial infection. Results After linezolid treatment,30 cases of postoperative intracranial infection were cured, and linezolid was effective in 1 2 cases, improved in 5 cases, and ineffective in 4 cases, total effective rate was 92.16%.Of 47 cases with effective therapy, the mean therapy day were 12.5 d (2-27 d),11 of whom isolated gram-positive bacteria from CSF before therapy, and CSF culture were all negative after linezolid therapy. Conclusion Linezolid is effective for treating intracranial infection caused by Staphylococci,Enterococci and other gram-positive bacteria which failed to response to vancomycin therapy.

Objective To investigate the prevalence, radiological features and the association between HRCT changes and different diseases or clinical features in interstitial lung disease(ILD)caused by diffuse connective tissue diseases(CTD).Methods Retrospective analysis was performed based on the medical records of 412 in-patients with the diagnosis of diffuse connective tissue diseases from June 2003 to June 2005 in our hospital.268 cases were SLE,83 cases were SS,40 cases were DM/PM,21 cases were SSe.All patients had chest X-ray and the suspected cases had HRCT exam. The distribution of ILD among different diffuse CTD.the appearance between X-ray and HRCT appearances were compared. The correlation among HRCT appearance, different diseases and clinical features was studied.Results①In the 412 cases of CTD,ILD de- tected by HRCT was 9.7%(40 case in total),3,9% by X-ray.Among the 40 cases,DM/PM had the highest rate of ILD(25%),23.8% in SS,9.6% in SS and 6.3% in SLE.②The consensus rate between HRCT and X-ray was 40%.The rate of mis-diagnosis of ILD was 60% by X-ray.③The changes of interstitial involvement de- tected by HRCT were:ground glass change(41.0%),consolidation(32.8%),reticular change(16.4%)and hon- eycomb change(9.8%).The concomitant presence of two of the above changes were very common.④More level respiratory symptoms such as cough, panting, chest distress and chest pain and high level of complement were observed in patients with ground glass and consolidation changes, while high CRP level was seen in patients with consolidation and honeycomb changes(P

Objective To find an easy to do testing method to diagnose CJD in the early stage. Methods The values of NSE and S 100 protein in the serum and CSF of 10 cases of CJD, 10 cases of non CJD dementia and 10 cases of healthy control were measured by ELISA and sandwich ELISA.while the expression of PrP gene of CJD patients being detected. Results The values of NSE and S 100 protein in the serum and CSF of CJD patients were higher than those of non CJD dementia(all P

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of heart-regulating and mind-calming acupuncture on the expression of gap junction protein connexin43 (Cx43) in myocardial cells in a rabbit model of ventricular arrhythmia.MethodA rabbit model of ventricular arrhythmia was made by injecting barium chloride into the marginal ear vein. Forty New Zealand rabbits were randomized into control, model, acupuncture and medication groups. The acupuncture group received heart-regulating and mind-calming acupuncture[at Lingtai(GV10), Shendao(GV11), bilateral Neiguan(PC6)and Baihui(GV20)]and the medication group, oral gavage of propafenone. Rabbit left ventricle was taken after the completion of the experiment. Cx43 expressions were compared and analyzed usingan immunohistochemical staining technique and a computer image processing system.ResultCx43 expression decreased significantly in the model group compared with the control group (P<0.01) and increased in the acupuncture and medication groups compared with the model group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Cx43 expression between the acupuncture and medication groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Adjusting Cx43 expression in myocardial cells may be one of the target points for this acupuncture treatment of arrhythmia.

Objective To optimize the preparation process for Fangji Huangqi Granules. Methods With the extraction rates of tetrandrine, fanchinoline, astragaloside Ⅳand solid as the parameters, the extract conditions of Fangji Huangqi Granules were optimized by orthogonal design . Then the anti-inflammation effect of the extracts was observed on the mice and rats. Results The optimal preparation process was as follows:the mixture of medical materials was firstly refluxed twice with total 10 times of 70 %alcohol,1.5 hours for each time, and then extracted twice with total 12 times of boiling water ,1.5 hours for each time. The anti-inflammation effect of the extracts was obvious on the mice and rats. Conclusion The optimal preparation process is reasonable and with high extraction rate of active components.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
A moderately halophilic bacterium strain DF-B6 capable of degrading Tween 20 was isolated from solar saltern brine by plate method.Based on the phenotype, physiological and biochemical character-istics,and the phylogenetic analysis of 16S rDNA sequence, strain DF-B6 was identified as Idiomarina. The substrate specificity test showed that the lipolytic enzyme from strain DF-B6 was an esterase, and not a li-pase.The maximum esterase activity was observed in 8% NaCl concentration at 50?C,pH 8.0.The effect of various divalent cations was studied on the activity of esterase from Idiomarina sp.DF-B6 at the concentra-tion of 10 mmol/L,Mg2+,Ca2+ and Mn2+enhanced the esterase activity, while Zn2+,Fe3+ and Cu2+ inhibited its activity.

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2012;35(13):11-13
ObjectiveTo estimate the value of CT virtual colonoscopy (CTVC) and its image postprocessing techniques in the diagnosis of colorectal diseases.MethodsCTVC images of 84 patients with suspected colorectal diseases were retrospectively analyzed combined with multiple planar reconstruction (MPR),shaded surface display(SSD) and transparent image reconstruction. The location, size, shape and type of the lesions were analyzed and the images were compared with electronic colonoscopy and pathologic specimen finding.ResulltsFify-nine of 84 patients were diagnosed as coloretal cancer (23 cases with cancer in sigmoid colon,22 cases in rectum,11 cases in ascending colon and 3 cases in appendix),8 cases were porctopolypus,3 cases were multiple colonic diverticula,1 case was hemorrhoids,13 cases were normal. All the diagnosis was confirmed correct by operation pathology or clinic.ConclusionCTVC can show the shape and other features of colorectal diseases, and has important significance for clinical staging and surgical planning of colorectal cancer.
