Objective To evaluate the changes and clinic countermeasures of cough and expectoration in the patients with lung cancer after airway stent placements. Methods With the fibrobronchoscope, metal stents were placed in tracheas, main bronchia or right intermediary bronchia. It was compared that the degrees of cough and expectoration difficulties, the volumes and mucin content of sputa and lung functions before the placements, within 3 d and 1 to 2 months after operation. Results Within postoperative 3 days, the patients coughed more frequently, but VC, FEV_(1) and PEF were improved significantly. In postoperative 1 to 2 months, the degrees of cough were close to preoperative degrees, lung functions kept on improved conditions, but expectoration difficulties, volumes and mucin contents of sputa increased markedly, especially in the patients with tectorial membrane stents. Proper stents and reasonable treatment including use of antitussive, apophlegmatisant and antibiotics could decrease the degrees of cough within postoperative 3 days, and expectoration difficulties, volumes and mucin contents of sputa in postoperative 1 to 2 months. Conclusion To the patients with malignant central airway constriction, metal stent placement would improve ventilative functions but bring difficulties for cough and expectoration. The side complications would be relieved through corresponding treatments.

Objective To discuss the clinical significance of nephroscopic surgery for simple renal cysts. Methods A 2~4 cm incision was made below the 12th costal interspace. Through the incision the nephroscopic decortication was performed in 26 patients with simple renal cyst. Results The operation time was 20~80 min (mean, 30 min) and the postoperative hospital stay, 3~)6 days (mean, 4 days). No blood transfusion was required and no severe complications were noted. Follow-up observations for 3~)12 months (mean, 8 months) in the 26 patients found no recurrence. Conclusions Mini-incision nephroscopic decortication for renal cysts is feasible and mini-invasive, with advantages of simplicity of performance and quick postoperative recovery.

BACKGROUND:Titanium implants as a safe biological material have been used to produce the artificial Russian titanium cornea, but complications stil exist, including artificial cornea shift, leakage, corneal tissue melting and artificial cornea discharge.
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate in vivo biocompatibility of hydroxyapatite modified titanium skirt for keratoprosthesis in alkali burn cornea.
METHODS:A total of 30 alkali burned New Zealand white rabbit corneas were divided into three group groups. Hydroxyapatite modified titanium skirt (experimental group) and titanium skirt (control group) were respectively inserted into the corneal stroma of rabbits. In the blank control group, only a lamel ar corneal incision was made.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al skirts were stable without necrosis, melting and exclusion during the observation period. The number of inflammatory cells in the experimental and control groups was significantly higher than that in the blank control group at 2 and 8 weeks postoperatively (P<0.05), but there was no difference in inflammatory cellinfiltration among different groups by the 16th week. The number of corneal fibroblasts increased significantly in the experimental group compared with the control and blank control group after 2, 8, 16 weeks (P<0.05). The extracellular matrix deposited on the surface of hydroxyapatite modified titanium skirt was denser and tighter than that on the surface of titanium skirt. It indicates that hydroxyapatite modified titanium skirt for keratoprosthesis can promote the interfacial biointegration of skirt and host cornea.

The rutile structure titanium oxide (Ti-O) film was prepared on the pure titanium material TA2 (99.999%) surface by the magnetic filter high vacuum arc deposition sputtering source. The method can not only maintain the material mechanical properties, but also improve the surface properties for better biocompatibility to accommodate the physiological environment. The preparation process of the Ti-O film was as follows. Firstly, argon ions sputtered to the TA2 substrate surface to remove the excess impurities. Secondly, a metal ion source generated Ti ions and oxygen ions by the RF discharge. Meanwhile a certain negative bias was imposed on the sample. There a certain composition of Ti-O film was obtained under a certain pressure of oxygen in the vacuum chamber. Finally, X-ray diffraction was used to research the structure and composition of the film. The results showed that the Ti-O film of the rutile crystal structure was formed under the 0.18 Pa oxygen partial pressure. A Nano scratch experiment was used to test the coating adhesion property, which demonstrated that the film was stable and durable. The contact angle experiment and the platelet clotting experiment proved that the modified surface method had improved platelet adhesion performance, and, therefore, the material possessed better biocompatibility. On the whole, the evaluations proved the modified material had excellent performance.

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and living conditions of hepatic diabetes (HD) patients and to analyze the risk factors of the prognosis of HD patient .Methods One hundred and sixty‐eight cases of cirrhosis cases were divided into liver cirrhosis group(n=74) ,the combined group cases(n=48)and combined HD type 2 diabetes (T2MD) group(n=46)se‐lected from January 2011 to December 2012 .Death was end point .The clinical features and prognosis of patients were compared . The risk factors for liver cirrhosis were analyzed by the simple factor analysis and Logistic regression analysis .Results The pa‐tients with history of diabetes in T2MD group were more than those in the HD group and the cirrhosis group (P<0 .05) .The pro‐portion of alcoholic cirrhosis cirrhosis of HD group and T2MD group were higher than those in liver cirrhosis group (P<0 .05) . The hepatic encephalopathy ,upper gastrointestinal bleeding ,electrolyte disorders and other complications ,mortality ,Child‐Pugh score and length of hospital stay of HD group and T2MD groups were significantly higher than those in liver cirrhosis group(P<0 .05) ,but there was no significant difference between HD and T2MD group(P>0 .05) .The total bilirubin (TBil) of HD group was higher than those of the T2MD group and liver cirrhosis group(P<0 .05) .The levels of fasting glucose levels(FPG) ,insulin resistance index (HOMA‐IR) ,total cholesterol (TG) ,C‐peptide of liver cirrhosis group were lower than HD group and T2MD group (P<0 .05) .The levels of FPG ,C peptide of HD group were higher than that of T2MD group (P<0 .05) .The levels of TG of T2MD group were higher than that of HD group (P<0 .05) .Logistic multivariate analysis showed that age ,alcohol consump‐tion ,diabetes ,Child‐Pugh score were independent risk factors for death in patients with liver cirrhosis .Conclusion The morbidity and mortality of HD patients may be higher than patients with liver cirrhosis ,and HD could increase the risk of death in patients with liver cirrhosis .

Objective To explore the best in vitro PICC measurement in children with blood cancer. Methods 70 cases of hematology-oncology patients who aged from 1 to 7 years old from June,2009 to July, 2010 in Pediatric Hematology Oncology were selected and divided randomly into the control group and the observation group with 35 cases in each group. The measurement of the control group was from the pre-puncture point along the vein to the right chest acromioclavicular joint, the measurement of the observation group was from the pre-puncture point along the vein to 1cm below the right chest acromioclavicular joint. Results The rate of PICC placed in the lower superior vena cava was 94.29% in the observation group, and 57.14% in the control group, the difference was significant. Conclusions For children patients aged from 1 to 7 years old with blood cancer, PICC catheter length measurement from the prepuncture point along the vein to 1cm below the right chest acromioclavicular joint, can improve accuracy for the PICC into the lower superior vena cava.

Objective To study curative effect of core decompression and autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of early femoral head necrosis (ANFH).Methods 30 patients with femoral head necrosis treated by different methods were divided into 3 groups: core decompression A group) 10 cases(12 hips) ;core decompression pus stem cells transplantation(B group) 10 cases(13 hips) ;core decompression pus stem cells transplantation combined with traditional Chinese medicine(C group) 10 ca-ses( 10 hips) ;The X-ray 、CT MRI、Harris score( HHS) .curative effect were observed.Results The phase of Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,in 3 groups didn't appear deformation and collapse at 3,6,12 months;The score of Harris after 12 months 93 points were higher than that preoperatively 57.5 points(χ 2= 5.81 ,P<0.05) ;The signal ratio of femoral head volume in MRI was 42% before treatment,disappearance of femoral head necrosis after treatment;Total curative effect of B,C group,werehighter than that Agroup(χ2 =3.81,χ2 =3.98,P<0.05).Conclusion The operative treatment of ANFH with core decompression and stem cells transplantation combined with traditional Chinese medicine had the advantage of minimal damage,simplicity,accuracy,and effectiveness.

Objective To analyze the effects and experience of ideological and political education through inquiring students' satisfaction on it,and to strengthen innovation and efficiency. Methods Five hundred and fifty university students were chosen by random.Through anonymous questionnaires,information on attention and satisfaction of ideological and political education about educate by all staff,campus culture,psychological status,and extracurricular activities were acquired.Results More than 56% of the students thought who impressed them most were the professional teachers;and 75.64% of them would ask friends for help when they were facing difficulties.And 44.91% considered study as the main resource of pressure,although the other 39.09% chose the career perspective.Then,57.45% were willing to take part in the meaningful activities after class,though the study was tough.And 45.45% hoped it would be a great progress on extracurricular activities;74% would take part in entertainment,and on the other hand 68.55% chose volunteer;and 87.72% interested in learning psychological knowledge. Conclusion It is important to strengthen and develop ideological and political education among students in the university.And attention should be paid to the innovation and efficiency of the education.

OBJECTIVETo observe the characteristics of sperm single-stranded DNA breaks (SSB) and double-stranded DNA breaks (DSB) in infertile men, explore the association of DSB with male infertility, and provide a new observation index and idea for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

METHODSThis study involved 60 infertile men (infertility group) and 30 normal healthy males with infertile wives (control group). We comparatively analyzed the seminal parameters of the two groups, determined sperm concentration and viability using the computer aided sperm analysis system, measured the sperm survival rate by hypoosmotic swelling (HOS) test, examined sperm morphology by Diff-Quick staining, and detected sperm DNA damage by two-tail comet assay.

RESULTSNine two-tail comet models were established for detecting sperm DNA integrity. Comparisons between the fertility and control groups showed that the sperm DNA fragmentation index (DFI) was (33.8 ± 13.1) vs (16.3 ± 7.9)% (P < 0.01), the SSB-DFI was (19.2 ± 11.4) vs (14.9 ± 7.6)% (P > 0.05), the SSB-DFI/DFI was (56.8 ± 32.4) vs (91.4 ± 27.8)% (P < 0.01), the DSB-DFI was (23.9 +13.4) vs (6.1 ± 2.7)% (P < 0.01), and the DSB-DFI/DFI was (70.8 ± 19.5) vs (37.4 ± 11.3)% (P < 0.01). The optimal cut-off value of DSB-DFI/DFI in the diagnosis of male infertility was 39.5%, with the AUG, sensitivity, and specificity of 0.969, 98.3%, and 90%; that of DSB-DFI was 15.85%, with the AUC, sensitivity, and specificity of 0.912, 86.7%, and 80%; and that of DFI was 18.65%; with the AUC, sensitivity, and specificity of 0.861, 90%, 70%, respectively. In the infertile men, neither SSB-DFI nor SSB-DFI/DFI exhibited any correlation with semen parameters (P > 0.05); DFI was correlated negatively with the percentage of progressively motile sperm, sperm survival rate, and the percentage of morphologically normal sperm (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), but not correlated with sperm concentration (P > 0.05); both DSB-DFI and DSB-DFI/DFI showed a negative correlation with sperm concentration, sperm survival rate, and the percentages of progressively motile sperm and morphologically normal sperm (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONDouble-stranded, rather than single-stranded DNA breaks, may be a factor inducing male infertility. The type of sperm DNA strand damage is of much reference value for the assessment of male fertility.

Objective To investigate the anti-tumor efficiency of cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) induced by activated B lymphocyte after hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) alpha fetoprotein (AFP) mRNA transfection.Methods B lymphocytes were fractionated,purified and activated by recombinant human soluble sCD40L.PGEM4Z/AFP/A64-EGFP plasmid was established in vitro,mixed with polymerase T7RNA,and then transcribed into AFP mRNA with Poly (A) sequence.B lymphocytes electrotransfected with AFP mRNA were in the experimental group,B lymphocytes electrotransfected with GAPDH mRNA were in the negative control group,and untreated B lymphocytes were in the blank control group.The expressions of antigen-presenting cell (APC)markers (CD19,CD20,CD21,CD40,CD80,CD83) and major histocompatibility complex (MHC) of the 3 groups were detected.B lymphocytes of the 3 groups were cultured with T lymphocytes at ratios of 1∶40,1 ∶ 20,1∶10 and 1∶5 to induce and ampify CTL,and then the absorbance values were detected to evaluate the proliferation ability of T lymphocytes.The killing activity of CTL was investigated with HCC cell line SMMC7721 as the target cells.All data were analyzed using the paired t test,one-way analysis of variance or Tamhane's T2 test.Results The expressions of CD19,CD20,CD21,CD40,CD80 and CD83 of the experimental group were 74 ± 11,78 ±8,80 ± 10,90 ± 11,82 ± 6,56 ± 5,which were significantly higher than 51 ± 5,60 ± 7,53 ± 5,73 ± 8,50 ± 5 and 49 ± 6 of the negative control group,and 46 ± 3,54 ± 5,41 ± 3,56 ± 5,52 ± 6 and 21 ± 4 of the blank control group (t =5.302,4.812,7.627,5.932,9.142,7.813; 11.581,7.036,13.592,12.873,9.235,14.619,P ＜ 0.01).The proliferation of CTL of the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the negative control group and blank control group (t =18.203,23.714,15.062,9.417 ; 16.833,19.392,13.871,6.592,P ＜0.01).When the T lymphocytes were mixed with the HCC cell line SMMC7721 at the ratios of 40∶ 1,20∶1and 10∶1,the killing rates of HCC cells by CTL of the exprimental group were 43％ 4％,32％ ± 4％ and 22％ ±3％,which were significantly higher than 15％ ± 5％,7％ ± 3％ and 6％ ±2％ of the negative control group,and 7％±3％,8％±3％ and 9％±4％ of the blank control group (t =9.141,13.272,11.901; 14.372,12.835,9.507,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Activated B lymphocytes after HCC AFP mRNA transfection may effectively induce CTL to kill HCC cells.
