Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(02):-
Objective To study the mechanism of reinforcing kidney and activating blood therapy for the apoptosis of endometriosis. Methods Female SD rats aged 8~12weeks were grouped as model group, western medicine group,Chinese medicine group and integrated Chinese and western medicine group, with 15 in each group. The light microscope, electron microscope,TUNEL method, and immunohistochemical method were adopted to observe the pathomorphology, positive rate of apoptotic cells and the positive expression of apoptosis-regulating gene bcl-2 and bax. Results The apoptosis of endometriosis tissues in the integrated Chinese and western medicine group was the most obvious result with the highest apoptosis index, and the positive expression of apoptosis regulating gene bcl-2 was downward regulated and that of apoptosis regulating gene bax upward regulated,so bcl-2/bax decreased. Then it was Chinese medicine group, western medicine group, and model group. Conclusion The occurrence of endometriosis is related with the lowering of ability of apoptotic cells.Chinese medicines with the functions to reinforce kidney and activate blood can promote the ability of apoptotic cells in endometriosis to quicken the atrophy and regression of endometriosis tissues.

Chinese Journal of Zoonoses 2009;(7):645-649
Three encoding sequence genes (Lab, 3C, 3D) from 19 isolates of O-serotype of foot and mouth disease virus(FMDV) were down-loaded from GenBank. And the coding and amino acid sequences of 3 FMDV proteases (Lpro, 3Cpro, 3Dpol) were compared with the FMDV OA/58 serotype Lab, 3C, 3D sequences abstracted in our laboratory and qualified by variance analysis and multiple analysis(Duncan method). The experimental results revealed that the Lab, 3C and 3D genes had similar nucleotide mutation rates(P>0.05). However, overall analysis of the amino acid substitutions revealed that the Lpro- coding region was more prone to amino acid alterations than 3Cpro and 3Dpol- coding regions(P<0.01), but via multiple comparison, at the amino acid mutation, both 3Cpro and 3Dpol showed no significant difference. Depending on Swiss--pdb-Viewer sofe to simulate amino acid alterations at mutation hotspots, the findings showed that these alterations at hotspots failed to ruin the spatial structures of these 3 proteases. This result presents that the nucleotide mutation just acts on dynamics related to FMDV mutation, but the real evolutionary power must depend on the infected host cells to select functions with each viral proteases.

Objective To investigate the characteristics and related risk factors of patients with lymphoma complicated with tuberculosis (TB), the possible pathogenesis and effective therapy. Methods Twenty-one cases of lymphoma combined with TB were retrospectively analyzed by clinical manifestations, pathological features, diagnostic methods, treatments and prognosis. Results Six cases were diagnosed as TB after the diagnosis of lymphoma,5 cases of which were undergoing chemotherapy for lymphoma; 13 cases were diagnosed as lymphoma after TB,including 6 of 10 obsolete pulmonary TB were reactivated during undergoing chemotherapy. Two cases were diagnosed lymphoma and TB simultaneously. Six cases of 21 cases were Hodgkin lymphoma, whereas the other 15 cases were non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Conclusion TB and lymphoma may exist in the same patient in areas where TB is endemic; among this population, the proportion of Hodgkin lymphoma was higher than in the general population. Therefore, the possibility of TB reactivation when undergoing chemotherapy must be focused on.

Objective To explore the effect of early administration of alendronate (ALN) and pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs) on bone mass of rats after spinal cord injury(SCI). Methods Sixty-two healthy female SD rats aged 3 months were randomly allocated into 5 groups: a Sham group, a SCI group, a SCI+ALN group, a SCI+PEMFs group and a SCI+PEMFs+ALN group. Rats in the Sham group underwent laminectomy, while the rats in the other 4 groups underwent complete spinal cord transection, and the remained 3 groups were treated with ALN and/or PEMFs 1 week after SCI. All rats were sacrificed 8 weeks after operation. The bone mineral density(BMD), biomechanical parameters of the femurs, and histomorphometric parameters of proximal tibias were mea-sured, respectively. The data were analyzed with one way-ANOVA and factorial design-ANOVA. Results After early treatment of ALN and/or PEMFs, the BMD of femur was significantly increased as compared with that of rats in the SCI group; the elastic load, maximal load of femur were significantly increased as compared with those of rats in the SCI group; the percent trabecular bone area and trabecular bone width of tibias were significantly increased when compared to those of rats in the SCI group. Conclusion Early treatments of ALN and PEMFs can reduce the loss of bone, improve biomechanical properties of the femur, and inhibit the decay of microstructure of upper part of tibia. The study suggests that ALN and PEMFs may help prevent osteoporosis after SCI.
