The Journal of Practical Medicine 2014;(24):3949-3951
Objective To explore the clinical significance of C-reaction protein ( CRP ) and D-Dimer levels in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( AECOPD ) complicated by pulmonary hypertension (PH) and their association with HP. Methods Arterial blood gas and levels of CRP and D-Dimer were detected in 150 patients with AECOPD. Results Levels of CRP, D-Dimer, and PaCO2 were higher but PO2 level was lower in patients with moderate to severe PH than those with mild PH and the control subjects. Levels of CRP and D-Dimer were higher in patients with mild PH than the control subjects. Levels of CRP, D-Dimer, and PCO2 levels had a linear relationship with PASP, while PO2 was negatively correlated with PASP. Levels of CRP and D-Dimer were positively related with PCO2, while were negatively correlated with PO2. Conclusions Levels of CRP and D-Dimer can be used as an indicator for estimating the severity of pulmonary hypertension in patients with AECOPD.

"Omics" and bioinformatics have brought new ideas to the study of traditional Chinese medicine. This study used metabonomics and network pharmacology to investigate the pharmacodynamic basis and regulation of Qishen Yiqi dropping pill (QDP) improving cardiac energy metabolism in rats with heart failure (HF). 1H NMR metabonomics analysis showed that eight metabolites, including carnitine, glutamine, creatine, proline, homocitrulline, lactic acid, taurine and alanine appeared significant callback after QDP treatment for HF. The results indicate that QDP regulates the metabolism of carbohydrate, lipid, ATP and protein. The animal experiment was conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Ethics Committee for Experimental Animal Management and Animal Welfare of Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. A "drug-component-target-disease" network was established using network pharmacology, and the "component-target" sub-network related to the above energy metabolism processes was extracted by combining metabonomics results. Results revealed 79 chemical compounds and 47 potential targets of QDP involved in the regulation of energy metabolism, and identified key chemical components including ursolic acid, notoginsenoside G, ginsenoside-Rh1, and core targets such as INS, PPARG, and AKT1. The results also demonstrated the complex multi-target and multi-component relationship between QDP and HF from the perspective of energy metabolism. The molecular docking technique verified a strong interaction between some targets and chemical compounds, with affinities less than -5 kcal·mol-1. The results of this study provide useful information for the clinical application, development, and utilization of QDP.

OBJECTIVE:To summarize the application of virtual reality technology in oral and maxilofacial anatomy, thereby providing the better methods for clinical and basic research of oral medicine, laying the foundation for building the digital repository, and realizing the informatization and networking construction. METHODS:A computer-based retrieval was performed by the first author in the CNKI and PubMed databases to search papers related on the virtual reality technology applied in oral and maxilofacial anatomy published between January 2004 and December 2014, using the key words of “tissue engineering, virtual reality, oral and maxilofacial anatomy, digital, 3D reconstruction, multimedia, teeth, skul” in Chinese and English, respectively. According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, 52 papers were included in the final analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The application of virtual reality technology in oral and maxilofacial anatomy mainly includes 3D digital model and virtual digital database of human body. 3D medical reconstruction software includes 3D-Doctor and Minics that support the original data sources including continuous fault anatomical images, varieties of image data and 3D scanning data. A variety of virtual reality technologies can successfuly reproduce the tooth, dentition and oral and maxilofacial anatomy, laying the foundation for building the virtual reality platform in oral clinical application and teaching.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(11):-
AIM To explore the effect of long-term nebulized inhalation of nitroglycerin (Neb-NTG) on high pulmonary blood flow-induced pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). METHODS 24 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into shunting group, Neb group and control group. An arteries-venous shunt was performed between the abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava shunting was produced in rats of Neb and shunt groups. Twelve weeks after the operation, nebulized nitroglycerin was inhaled by rats in the Neb group using pressurized air ejection mobilization, while nebulized saline was inhaled by rats of the other two groups. Ten minutes inhalation was given each day for each rat. After three weeks of inhalation, pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) and mean pressure (PAMP) of each rat were evaluated by using a right cardiac catheterization procedure. Systemic arterial pressure (SAP) was reorded continuously by catheterization procedure. The ratio of right ventricular mass to body weight (RV/BW) and the ratio of right ventricular mass to left ventricular plus septal mass (RV/LV+S) were detected. Pulmonary vascular microstructure was measured. RESULTS PASP, RV/BW and RV/LV+S were significantly increased in shunt rats as compared with those of normal controls (P0.05). Muscularization of small pulmonary artery was obviously decreased in Neb-group compared with shunt group. CONCLUSION Long-term Neb-NTG ameliorates high pulmonary blood flow-induced PAH and pulmonary vascular remodeling.
