Objective To investigate the serum concentration of adiponectin(apM1)in patients of Han population with type 2 diabetes(T2DM), impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)and normal glucose tolerance(NGT)in Liaoning Province, and explore its correlation with T2DM process. Meth-ods Unrelated 278 subjects in Liaoning Province were enrolled for the study, including 97 newly diagnosed T2DM subjects,88 IGT subjects, and 93 cases with NGT. Serum apM1,fasting and post-glucose load glucose and insulin, blood lipids, blood pressure, calculate HOMA-IR and HOMA-B,height,weight,waist,hips were measured;body mass index(BMI)and waist hip ratio(WHR)were calculated. Three groups were divided into obese overweight and non-obese overweight subgroups with BMI≥25 kg/m2 as the boundary point. Then central and peripheral obesity was distin-guished using WHR(male≥0.90,female≥0.85 as the boundary point). Results Reduced apM1 levels was first observed in obese NGT stage. Accompanied by elevated levels of insulin resistance,apM1 levels showed a gradual decline trend paralleled with the NGT-IGT-T2DM model. Se-rum apM1 in T2DM was significantly lower than that in NGT(P<0.001). Negative correlations were found between apM1 and WHR,fasting plas-ma glucose,HOMA-IR and triglyceride. Stepwise multiple regression analysis indicated that,HOMA-IR and triglyceride were independent factors for serum apM1 levels. Conclusion Reduced apM1 levels were first appeared in obese NGT stage;apM1 is closely related to insulin resistance and T2DM process. Low level of apM1 can be used as a predictor of early intervention of IGT outcome and T2DM process.

Objective:To explore the impact of graft recipient weight ratio(GRWR)on pediatric whole liver transplantation in infants aged under 1 year. Methods:From January 2014 to December 2019, clinical data were retrospectively reviewed for 140 children aged under 1 year with whole liver transplantation. They were divided into 3 groups of low GRWR(GRWR<2.5%, 48 cases), middle GRWR(2.5%≤GRWR<5%, 73 cases)and high GRWR(GRWR≥5%, 19 cases). Basic profiles, major postoperative complications and survival rate of graft/recipient were compared. Results:There were 62 males and 78 females with an average age of (7.34±1.81)months and an average weight of(6.81±1.09)kg.The median GRWR was 3.27%(1.33%~8.12%). The higher level of GRWR, the greater age, weight and graft weight of donor in three groups and there was statistical difference ( P<0.05); operative duration, postoperative ICU stay and hospital stay were longer in low GRWR group than those in middle GRWR group and there was statistical difference( P<0.05); The incidence of postoperative hepatic artery thrombosis was higher in low GRWR group than that in middle GRWR group(31.3%vs 8.2%)and there was statistical difference( P<0.05); 4 cases of small-for-size syndrome occurred in low GRWR group, it was significantly different from the other two groups and there was statistical difference( P<0.05); the median follow-up period was(50.7±23.4)months.The survival rates of grafts at 3-month and 1/5-year were 89.6%, 91.8%, 100%; 87.5%, 87.7%, 100%; 87.5%, 87.7%, 100%and there was no inter-group difference( P>0.05). The survival rates of recipients at 3 months, 1 year and 5 years post-operation were 93.8%, 91.8%, 100%; 91.7%, 87.7%, 100%; 91.7%, 87.7%, 100%and there was no inter-group difference( P>0.05). Conclusions:Different from pediatric living donor transplantation, GRWR≥5%does not affect the survival rate of recipient/graft during whole liver transplantation. And GRWR<2.5%may boost the postoperative incidence of hepatic artery thrombosis and small liver syndrome.

Rabdosia serra(R.serra),an important component of Chinese herbal tea,has traditionally been used to treat hepatitis, jaundice, cholecystitis, and colitis. However, the chemical composition of R.serra and its effect against colitis remain unclear. In this study, the chemical composition of the water extract of R.serra was analyzed using ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with a hybrid linear ion trap quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer(UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS).A total of 46 compounds, comprising ent-kaurane diterpenoids, flavonoids, phenolic acids, and steroids, were identified in the water extract of R.serra, and the extract could significantly alleviate dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis by improving colon length, upregulating anti-inflammatory factors, downregulating proinflammatory fac-tors,and restoring the balance of T helper 17/T regulatory cells.R.serra also preserved intestinal barrier function by increasing the level of tight junction proteins(zonula occludens 1 and occludin)in mouse colonic tissue. In addition,R.serra modulated the gut microbiota composition by increasing bacterial richness and diversity, increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria(Muribaculaceae,Bacteroides,Lactobacillus, and Prevotellaceae_UCG-O01),and decreasing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria(Turi-cibacter,Eubacterium_fissicatena_group,and Eubacterium_xylanophilum_group).Gut microbiota depletion by antibiotics further confirmed that R.serra alleviated colitis in a microbiota-dependent manner.Overall, our findings provide chemical and biological evidence for the potential application of R.serra in the management of colitis.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2013;27(20):1106-1109
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the B lymphocytes(CD20) and T-lymphocyte subsets (CD4, CD8) expression and clinical significance in chronic rhinosinusitis.
METHOD:
Immunohistochemical technique was applied to detect the expression of the B lymphocytes (CD20), helper T lymphocytes (CD4) and the cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CD8) in 15 patients with chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps group (CRSsNP). 12 patients of chronic nasal sinusitis with nasal polyp (CRSwNP), 7 cases of recurrent CRSwNP group and 13 patients with inferior turbinate mucosa in the control group. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze CD)20, CD4 and CD8 between the experimental groups and the control group. One- Way ANOVA was used to compare the lymphocyte infiltration between the experiment groups.
RESULT:
Patients with CRS had higher infiltration of the B lymphocytes (CD20) and T lymphocyte subsets (CD4, CD88) than the patients of the control group (P < 0.05). The expression of T lymphocyte subsets (CD4, CD8) in CRSwNP and recurrent CRSwNP groups was significantly higher than in CRSsNP (P < 0.05). The expression of CD4 in the recurrent CRSwNP group was obviously higher than that in CRSsNP and CRSwNP (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSION
The B lymphocytes, helper T cells and cytotoxic T cells have the high expression in CRS groups, which involved with the formation of inflammation. Furthermore nasal polyps are closely related to T lymphocyte infiltration.
