1.Roles and peer status of campus bullying bystanders among middle school students

Objective:
Refine and understand the characteristics of different types of bystanders, in order to maximize the exploitation and utilization of bystanders as potential resources for anti bullying, so as to provide more targeted guidance for the formulation of intervention programs.
Methods:
In this study, 1 279 students from two middle schools in Beijing and Anhui Province and two high schools in Guangdong Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were administered with Participation Role Questionnaire (PRQ) and Peer Nomination Questionnaire.
Results:
There was a significant difference between male and female in the role of onlooker( χ 2=96.92, P <0.01). Female students were more likely to play the role of defender and outsider, while male students were more likely to play the role of reinforcer( χ 2=31.87, P =0.01). And there were significant differences in the distribution of bystander roles in different grades. The chi square test results were( χ 2=456.26, P <0.01).
Conclusion
The bystander plays an important role in the occurrence of bullying incidents. It is an important direction of school bullying intervention programs to promote the positive transformation from passive bystander to active bystander.
2.Meta-analysis of the effects of music therapy on anxiety and depression in intensive care patients

Objective:To evaluate the effect of music therapy on improving anxiety and depression in intensive care unit (ICU) patients, and to provide a reference for supporting music therapy as a new complementary alternative therapy.Methods:Randomized controlled trials on the effects of music therapy on anxiety and depression in ICU patients were searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Medline, PsycInfo, CNKI, Wanfang Med Online, VIP database, and China Biology Medicine disc. The search period was from the establishment of the database to November 30, 2023. After rigorous quality evaluation, Meta-analysis was performed using Revman5.4 software.Results:A total of 11 literatures were included, including 6 Chinese literatures and 5 English literatures, with 910 ICU patients.The results of Meta-analysis showed that after music therapy intervention, the scores of Self-rating Anxiety Scale, Self-rating Depression Scale and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory in the experimental group were higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant ( Z = 14.75, 3.73, 2.45, all P<0.05). Conclusions:Music therapy can relieve anxiety and depression in ICU patients, and it is worth exploring and applying in clinical practice.
3.Progress of the relationship between S100A9 and breast cancer

S100A9 is a calcium-binding protein that plays an important role in the progression of malignant tumors. Related studies have confirmed that the abnormal expression of S100A9 is closely related to the proliferation, metastasis and prognosis of breast cancer, while whether S100A9 can be used as a marker for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer is still controversial. This article reviews the current research status of S100A9 and its application prospect in the development, progression, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
4.RNA-seq analysis of amygdala tissue in social isolation rearing models of schizophrenia

Objective:To investigate the gene transcription level changes in the amygdala of social isolation rearing models of schizophrenia to determine the pathogenic genes and their related pathways of schizophrenia.Methods:A total of 29 3-week-old SPF C57BL/6J male mice were randomly divided into control group ( n=16) and model group ( n=13); 4 mice were raised in each transparent mouse cage in the control group, and 1 mouse was raised in each transparent mouse cage in the model group; mice in each cage could see their surrounding mice but could not touch each other. Mice in both groups were fed for 4 weeks and then subjected to open field experiment, pre-pulse inhibition experiment and new object recognition experiment within one week. After the experiment, mice were sacrificed by spinal dislocation, and the amygdala was taken for transcriptome sequencing. The topGO software was used for gene ontology (GO) functional enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs), and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis was performed using KEGG database. Results:(1) Animal experiment: compared with the control group, the model group had significantly increased movement distance in the open field experiment ([1 239.20±106.35] m vs. [1 845.53±143.65] m, t=3.464, P=0.002), significantly decreased activity time in the central region 5 min before experiment ([13.15±1.41] s vs. [8.47±1.19]) s, t=2.464, P=0.020). Compared with the control group, the model group had significantly lower percentage of deficient prepulse inhibition (PPI) of 78 dB ([22.28±1.53] % vs. [14.59±2.75] %, t=2.629, P=0.013), and deficient PPI of 88 dB ([32.83±3.39] % vs. [18.44±3.07] %, t=3.081, P=0.005). Compared with the control group, the model group had significantly decreased ratio of time exploring new objects/time exploring former objects ([80.5±2.2]% vs. [71.0±3.6]%, t=2.356, P=0.026). (2) Bioinformatics analysis: a total of 96 DEGs were found, of which 42 were with up-regulated expressions ( Th, Crlf1, etc.), and 54 were with down-regulated expressions ( Prkcd, etc.). Th and Crlf1 were positively correlated ( r=0.940, P=0.018). GO enrichment results suggested that DEGs were enriched in projection function of plasma membrane boundary cells, neuronal differentiation, and cell apoptosis. KEGG enrichment results suggested that DEGs were enriched in WNT signaling pathway, apoptosis pathway and tyrosine metabolism pathway. Protein network interaction analysis suggested that Wnt6, Tcf712, Pitx2, Tcf7 and Cd4 were key proteins. Conclusion:DEGs such as Th, Prkcd, Lrrc74b, Fadd, Wnt6, Ror2, Notum, and Tcf7l2, and their related signaling pathways may be related to schizophrenia in the amygdala of social isolation rearing mice.
5.Effects of variable frequency temporal interference electrical fields stimulation on motor cortex excitabili-ty and motor learning performance

Objective:To investigate the effects of temporal interference electrical fields(TI)on motor cortical excitabili-ty and motor learning abilities in healthy adults,in order to provide evidence for the application of TI stimula-tion in human. Method:A randomized crossover double-blind design was used with healthy adults participants.Experiment l:twenty subjects completed transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS)testing to assess changes in cortical excit-ability indicators before and after stimulation,including motor evoked potentials(MEP),resting motor thresh-old(RMT),short-interval intracortical inhibition(SICI),and intracortical facilitation(ICF).Experiment 2:sixteen subjects completed the random reaction time task(RRTT)and the serial reaction time task(SRTT),with performance indicators including average reaction time(RT),first implicit learning(FIL),and second im-plicit learning(SIL).The effects of TI stimulation on cortical excitability and motor learning abilities were evaluated using a two-factor repeated measures analysis of variance. Result:Experiment 1:there were significant interactions between stimulation condition and time on MEP(F=28.787,P<0.001,ηP2=0.602)and RMT(F=23.524,P<0.001,ηP2=0.580),while SICI and ICF showed no significant interaction effects.Experiment 2:compared to sham stimulation,FIL in SRTT was significantly im-proved after TI stimulation(F=4.601,P=0.049,ηP2=0.235),while there was no significant interaction effect in the RRTT task. Conclusion:Variable frequency TI stimulation can significantly increase cortical excitability in the primary mo-tor cortex,and this regulatory effect may contribute to enhancing motor learning performance in healthy adults.
