Objective To evaluate the efficacy of remifentanil combined with propofol in children of different age undergoing short-term ophthalmologic operation.Methods Forty-eight children aged 4-12 yr undergoing elective short-term ophthalmologic operation were divided into 4 groups(n=12 each)according to age and anesthetics:group ⅠPK aged 4-7 yr and group ⅡPK aged 8-12 yr received ketamine and propofol combined anesthesia;group ⅠPR aged 4-7 yr and group ⅡPR aged 8-12 yr received remifentanil and propefol combined anesthesia.In group ⅠPK and ⅡPK the anesthesia was induced with intravenous bolus of ketamine 2 ms/kg and ketamine 1-2 ms/kg.In group ⅠPR and ⅡPR the anesthesia was induced with intravenous remifentanil 1 μg/kg and respiratory rate(RR),cerebral state index(CSI)and SpO2 were recorded before anesthesia induction(baseline),2 min after induction,at the initiation of the operation,15 min after the initiation of operation and at emergence from anesthesia.Adverse effects during and after the operation,induction time,analepsia time,conscious recovery time and total sedation time were recorded.The mean infusion rate of remifentanil was calculated.Results Compared with the baesline,SP,DP,HR,RR and CSI were significantly decreased in 4 groups(P＜0.05).RR,CSI and incidence rates of adverse effects were significantly lower,and the emergence time and the recovery time of consciousness were significantly shorter in group ⅠPR and ⅡPR than in group ⅠPK and ⅡPK(P＜0.05).The average infusion rate of remifentanil was lower in group ⅡPR than in group ⅠPR(P＜0.05).Conclusion Remifentanil combined with propofol can produce good anesthetic effect in children undergoing short-term ophthalmologic operation,with less adverse effects,stable hemodynamics and rapid emergence from anesthesia.The dosage of remifentanil is difierent in children at different ages.

Objective To study the telomerase activity in the tissue adjacent to bladder cancer and to investigate its clinical significance. Methods Telomerase activity was detected with telomeric repeat amplification PCR (TRAP) assay. The telomerase activity in the tissue adjacent to bladder cancer was evaluated. Results Telomerase activity was positive in the tissue samples adjacent to bladder cancer in 10 of the 24 cases(42%). Telomerase activity in the adjacent tissue has been related with the tumour grades and stages. The tumour recurrence was also related with the telomerase activity in the adjacent tissue. Conclusions The detection of telomerase activity in the tissue adjacent to bladder cancer could be a prognostic marker for bladder tumor recurrence.

Objective To investigate the expression of Shh, Ptch, Smo and Gli1 proteins who belongs to components of Hedgehog signaling pathway, and to explore the relationship between the abnormal activated of Hedgehog signaling path?way with renal clear cell carcinoma (RCCC). Methods Protein expressions were examined by immunohistochemistry in 76 cases of human RCCC and 12 pericarcinomatous tissues. And 10 fresh specimens from cancer tissues and pericarcinoma?tous tissues were used to examine expressions of Shh, Ptch, Smo and Gli1 by Western blotting. Results The expressions of examined proteins were higher in RCCC than that in pericarcinomatous tissue. Shh (52.6%vs 8.3%), Ptch (63.2%vs 16.7%), Smo (44.7%vs 8.3%) and Gli1 (60.5%vs 25.0%). The increased proteins levels were disassociated with age, gender, and tu?morous size in RCCC. But it was significantly correlated with TNM stage of RCCC. The expressions were gradually increased with higher TNM stage of RCCC or more invasive malignancy. Conclusion Hedgehog signaling pathway is highly activated in RCCC. It might be involved in initiation, progression of RCCC, and it might be used as the target for RCCC treatment.

Objective:To investigate the mRNA expression of β_2-adrenergic receptor(β_2-AR) and the receptor post signaling materials cyclic AMP(cAMP) and cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) activity in myocardial infarction(MI)rats.Methods:MI model was made by ligation of rats'left anterior descending coronary artery.A total of 48 adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups:Control group,the rats were sham operated,and 2 weeks post MI group,4 weeks post MI group and 8 weeks post MI group.The myocytes suspensions were untreated or treated in each group by salbutamol,isoproterenol,ICI118,551,atenolol,propranolol and pertussis toxin(PTX)respectively.The mRNA expression of β_2-AR and β_1-AR from left ventricular myocardium were detected by RT-PCR,the concentration of cAMP was determined by competitive enzyme immunoassay and the activity of PKA was determined by non-radioactive protein kinase assay.Results:Compared with Control group,the mRNA expression of β_1-AR was lower in MI groups(P<0.05),and the ratio of β_2-AR to β-AR increased from 19% to 38%(P<0.01)after MI.Compared with the untreated cells,cAMP concentration was increased by salbutamol treatment in Control group and 2 weeks,4 weeks,8 weeks post MI group by 98.1%,133.6%,147.7% and 150.7% respectively(P<0.05).Compared with isoproterenol treatment,ICI118,551 decreased cAMP concentration in 8 weeks post MI group(P<0.05).Atenolol decreased cAMP in Control group,2 weeks and 4 weeks post MI groups(P<0.05);Propranolol decreased cAMP concentration in Control and three MI groups(P<0.05).β-receptor inhibitor inhibited PKA activity in 8 weeks post MI group(P<0.05),Atenolol inhibited PKA activity in Control group and 2 weeks post MI group(P<0.05),Propranolol inhibited PKA activity in Control group and three MI groups(P<0.05,respectively).Conclusion:The ratio of β_2-AR to β-AR increased after MI.β_2-AR agonist increased cAMP concentration and PKA activity in myocytes in post MI rats.

Objective To investigate the distribution of breast invasive ductal carcinoma with different molecular subtypes ,and to study the relationship between molecular subtypes and clinical pathological features in Xinjiang area .Methods A total of 621 patients with IDC from January 2013 to January 2014 was classified into Luminal A type,Luminal B type,HER-2 overexpression type and Basal -like type,different molecular subtypes according to the estrogen receptor(ER),progesterone receptor(PR),epidermal growth factor receptor -2(HER-2) and Ki-67,and compared the statistics combining with the clinical pathological characteristics of IDC .Re-sults The result showed that Luminal B type accounted for 53.1%,Luminal A type,HER-2 overexpression type and Basal-like type accounted for 14.5%,15.9%,16.4%,respectively.There were significant differences between the molecular subtypes and tumor size ,histological grade ,tumor pathological stage ,the expression of ER , PR and HER-2(P<0.05 for all).There were no correlations between the molecular subtypes and age ,as well as lymph node metastasis(P>0.05).Conclusion There is a close relationship between invasive ductal carcino-ma of different molecular subtypes and clinical pathological characteristics .The molecular subtypes are beneficial to treatment guidelines for clinical individual .

Aim To observe the effect of flavonoids from Astragalus complanatus(ACF) on the growth of SMMC7721 human liver caner subcutaneous transplanting tumor in nude mice. Methods After the nude mice model of the subcutaneous transplanting tumor was established by human liver cancer SMMC7721, 30 cases were randomly divided into model group, CTX group,ACF-1 group,ACF-2 group and ACF-3 group(n=6,each),treated with saline, CTX and ACF respectively.The expression level of proliferation cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in the tumor tissues was also investigated by immunohistochemical methods. The histopathological changes were observed by light microscopy and electromicroscopy. Results In comparison with that in the model group, the size and weight of tumors in ACF group were significantly decreased. Objective:To investigate the association between the apolipoprotein A5(APOA5) -1131T/C polymorphism and premature coronary heart disease in northern Chinese Han population. Methods: Using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE), we analyzed the genotype and allele distribution in 140 patients with premature coronary heart disease diagnosed by coronary angiography and 156 healthy controls. The levels of serum lipid profiles were also studied by biochemical methods. Results: The allele frequency of APOA5-1131T/C polymorphism in the premature coronary heart disease group was significantly higher (43.2% vs. 33.0%, P=0.011) than that in the control group. Compared with TT homozygotes, CC homozygotes exhibited a 2.809-fold (95% CI 1.331-5.927) increased risk of developing premature coronary heart disease. Logistic regression analysis found that this correlation was independent of sex, age, body mass index (BMI), smoking history as well as serum total cholesterol(TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels; In premature coronary heart disease group, the triglyceride(TG) level in CC homozygotes was significantly higher than those in TC heterozygotes or TT homozygotes. Conclusion: The APOA5-1131T/C polymorphism has influence on serum TG level, and the APOA5-1131C allele is associated with the development of premature coronary heart disease in northern Chinese Han population.

Objective To investigate the effect of the new polyamine analogue tetrabutyl propanediamine (TBP) on cell proliferation and the underlying mechanism. Methods MTT assay was performed to determine cell proliferation. Flow cytometry was performed to detect cell cycle transition. DNA fragmentation and mitochondrial membrane potential determinations were performed to detect cell apoptosis. The activity of key enzymes in polyamine catabolism was detected by chemiluminescence assay. Results TBP could significantly inhibit the proliferation of HL-60 cells by blockingcell cycle transition and by inducing apoptosis. The TBP-induced apoptosis of HL-60 cells was in a dose-dependent manner. The enzyme activities of SMO and APAO were also significantly increased in HL-60 cells after treatment with 100 μM TBP for 24 hours. Conclusions TBP, as a new putrescine analogue, could inhibit proliferation of HL-60 cells by increasing the enzyme activity of SMO and APAO and inducing apoptosis.

Background and purpose:In recent years,sleeve resection of bronchus and pulmonary artery has been more extensively applied in treatments of lung cancer patients with poor pulmonary functions.This kind of surgery meets the basic surgical principles of lung cancer being maximum both in resecting the carcinoma of the lungs and preserving pulmonary functions,has a good prospect.Therefore,we summarize our recent experience in treating central type lung cancer by this method and discuss its principles and methods in the application of the surgical operation.Methods:From Dec.1993 to Dec.2003,63 patients with central type lung cancer underwent sleeve lobectomy of bronchus and pulmonary artery,including sleeve resection of bronchus and pulmonary artery in 43 cases,wedge resection of bronchus and pulmonary artery in 3 cases,sleeve resection of bronchus and wedge resection of pulmonary artery in 17 cases.The surgical procedures of sleeve resection included sleeve resection of right upper lobe and pulmonary artery in 20 cases,sleeve resection of left upper lobe and pulmonary artery in 23 cases,and the length of pulmonary artery that had been respected is from 1.5cm to(4.5cm),the average length is 2.5cm.The surgical procedures of wedge resection included wedge resection of right upper lobe and pulmonary artery in 2 cases, wedge resection of left upper lobe and pulmonary artery in 1 case.The group of sleeve resection of bronchus with wedge resection of pulmonary artery included sleeve resection of right upper lobe and wedge resection of pulmonary artery in 5 cases,sleeve resection of left upper lobe and wedge resection of pulmonary artery in 12 cases.Results:No case of death and anastomotic leak occurred.Conclusions:Because sleeve resection of bronchus and pulmonary artery can not only effectively resect the tumor but also maximally preserve the pulmonary function at the same time,it enlarges the surgical indications of lung cancer,and is an effective and safe method for the treatment of lung cancer.
