3.Lysophosphatidic acid and ischemic heart disease

Lysophosphatidic acid(LPA) is a potent bioactive lipid that has multiple specific effects on vessel wall cells,blood cells,cardiac myocytes and cardiac fibroblasts.Activated platelets are the primary source of LPA in circulation,which in turn stimulate platelet aggregation.It has shown that LPA can promote the formation of atherosclerosis and thrombus under certain conditions that might aggravate cardiovascular diseases,especially ischemic heart disease.LPA can enhance endothelial permeability and cause barrier dysfunction in the early phase of coronary atherosclerosis,as well as in the late phase trigger platlet activation and lead to intra-arterial thrombus formation upon rupture of the atherosclerotic plaque,finally cause myocardial ischemia and infarction.Furthermore,LPA can stimulate cardiac myocyte hypertrophy and fibroblasts proliferation,which aggravate myocardial hypertrophy after infarction.So,LPA plays an important role in the development of ischemic heart disease.
4.Quantitative parameters on nuclear DNA of ovarian mucinous cystadenomatous in differential diagnosis

Purpose:To study the value of nuclear DNA morphological parameters in differential diagnosis. Methods:Using the cellular image analysis instrument to quantitate nuclear DNA morphological parameters (including area, perimeter, major diameter, equivalent circle diameter and nuclear shape factor) in 38 cases of ovarian mucinous cystadenomatous and 5 normal ovarian epithelial tissue, and to analyze the relationship between histodifferentiation and nuclear morphological. Results:Statistical analysis showed that there were significant differences between the groups ( P 0.05). Conclusions:Nuclear DNA morphological parameters of ovarian mucinous cystadenomatous are useful markers, and may have some significance in pathological diagnosis.
5.Prediction of Osteoporotic Fracture by Quantitative Computed Tomography

In this paper,we analysed the plain film of spine and CT bone mineral density(BMD)of lumbar vertebral body in 63 Chinese osteoporotic women. There are 29 and 34 cases with and without fracture respectively in these patients. The average value of BMD in the fracture group was markedly lower than that of the non fracture group (P=0.0006).We suggested that 95mg/cm ̄3 may be taken as an appropriate fracture threshold for Chinese elderly women, There were 18 and 45 cases with and without heterogenous calcification respectively in these patients.A significant difference of BMD was found between the two groups(P
7.Expressions and significance of tumor-associated genes in tissues adjacent to human epithelial ovarian cancer of orthotopic implantation in nude mice

Objective To investigate the feasibility in screening of normal ovarian tissues by evaluating the expressions of tumor-associated genes in tissues adjacent to human epithelial ovarian cancer of orthotopic implantation in nude mice.Methods Human epithelial ovarian cancer cell lines OVCAR3 were grown in subcutaneous tissues,and the tumor tissues were orthotopic implanted.The expressions of CK-7,CA125,P53,survivin,MMP-2,and TIMP-2 were detected by immunohistochemical staining in proximal tissues,middle tissues,distal tissues adjacent to tumor,tumor tissues,and normal ovarian tissues of nude mice.Results 35 samples ovarian tissues with normal biopsy were gained from 40 cases of human epithelial ovarian cancers of orthotopic implantation model in nude mice.The expression rate of CK-7,CA125,P53,survivin,MMP-2,and TIMP-2 were 95.0% (38/40),95.0% (38/40),75.0% (30/40),85.0% (34/40),77.5% (31/40),and 77.5% (31/40) in tumor tissues,respectively; 71.4% (25/35),68.6%(24/35),57.1% (20/35),62.9% (22/35),60.0% (21/35),and 57.1% (20/35) in proximal tissues adjacent to tumor,respectively; 34.3% (12/35),31.4% (11/35),31.4% (11/35),31.4% (11/35),34.3% (12/35),and 31.4% (11/35) in middle tissues adjacent to tumor,respectively; and 25.7% (9/35),22.9% (8/35),25.7% (9/35),25.7% (9/35),28.6%(10/35),and 31.4% (11/35) in distal tissues adjacent to tumor,re respectively.The expressions of CK-7,CA125,P53,survivin,MMP-2,and TIMP-2 were all negative in 23 samples normal ovarian tissues adjacent to tumor.The expressions of CK-7,CA125,P53,survivin,MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in proximal tissues adjacent to tumor were lower than those in tumor tissues(P<0.05),and higher than those in middle tissues and in distal tissues adjacent to tumor(P<0.01).There were no expression difference between in middle tissues and in distal tissues (P>0.05).The strong positive expressions of CK-7,CA125,and survivin were higher than those of P53,MMP-2,and TIMP-2 (P<0.01).No significant difference was found in those expressions in the normal ovarian tissues adjacent to tumor gained from orthotopic implantation model with different severity.The expressions of CK-7,CA125,P53,survivin,MMP-2,and TIMP-2 were all negative in 20 normal ovarian tissues of nude mice.Conclusions The expression of CK-7,CA125,P53,survivin,MMP-2,and TIMP-2 showed decreasing trend to non-cancer direction.Negative expressions of these tumor-associated genes can be used as standard in screening of normal ovarian tissues adjacent to tumor.Relative safe normal ovarian tissues can be obtained from the tissues adjacent to tumor.
8.Effect of Crossing Nape Electroacupuncture on Deglutition and Pulmonary Infection in Post-cerebral Infarction Patients with Tracheotomy and Tracheal Intubation

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical promoting effect of crossing nape electroacupuncture on the recovery of swallowing function and recovery from pulmonary infection in post-cerebral infarction patients with tracheotomy.MethodSixty post-cerebral infarction patients with cough reflex disorder and swallowing dysfunction associated with pulmonary infection receiving tracheotomy and tracheal intubation were subjects. They were allocated, using a random number table, to three groups, 20 cases each. In each group, the patients were enrolled in order of visits. The three groups were given the same basic treatment for fighting inflammation, resolving phlegm and improving blood supply. The crossing nape electroacupuncture group received bilateral points Fengchi (GB20), Yifeng (TE17), Dicang (ST4)-to-Jiache (ST6) and Lianquan (CV23) acupuncture with electrodes connected by left-right crossing. The acupuncture group received bilateral points Fengchi, Yifeng, Dicang-to-Jiache and Lianquan acupuncture without electrodes connected. The control group received basic treatment with Western drugs without acupuncture therapy. Observations were carried out using the Kubota’s water drinking test, the Toshima Ichiro Swallowing Assessment and the Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score. The clinical therapeutic effects were evaluated in the three groups.ResultThe therapeutic effects evaluated using the Kubota’s water drinking test and the Toshima Ichiro Swallowing Assessment were better in the crossing nape electroacupuncture group than in the acupuncture group and better in the acupuncture group than in the control group (P<0.05). The score of the Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score decreased in all the three groups. The promoting effect on recovery from pulmonary infection was marked in the crossing nape electroacupuncture group (P<0.01).ConclusionCrossing nape electroacupuncture has a marked improving effect on dysphagia in post-cerebral infarction patients with tracheotomy and tracheal intubation. It can promote recovery from pulmonary infection in post-cerebral infarction patients with cough reflex disorder receiving tracheotomy and tracheal intubation.
9.Metabolism and Excretion of Isochlorogenic Acid B in Rats by Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry

Objective The metabolism and excretion of isochlorogenic acid B in rats were investigated by UHPLC-MS.Methods Feces,urine and plasma were individually collected before and at different time points after administration of 20 mg·kg-1.Post-prepared samples were analyzed by UHPLC-MS.Results According to the retention times,m/z,characteristic fragment ions and related literature,a total of 22 metabolites were detected,of which 18 metabolites were present in rat feces,3 metabolites in urine and one metabolite in plasma.The main metabolic pathways contain hydrolysis,hydrogenation,methylation,sulfation and so on.The cumulative excretion of isochlorogenic acid B and its main metabolite chlorogenic acid in feces and urine was further performed.Conclusion The metabolism and excretion of isochlorogenic acid B in rats were explored to provide experimental basis for its further research and development.
10.Clinical application of a new type of saliva suction tube

Objective To investigate the application and clinical effect of improved saliva suction tube. Methods A total of 36 patients with conducting mandibular molar preparation and corresponding doctors and nurses for those molar preparation were investigated using a self-designed questionnaire. Results The score of experimental group ( 7. 50 ± 1. 23 ) was significantly higher than control group according to patients′questionnaire (P<0.01). The score of experimental group (8.00±1.08) was significantly higher than control group based on doctors′questionnaire (P<0.01). Moreover, the score of experimental group (13.55±0.82) was significantly higher than control group according to nurses′ observations (P<0.01).Conclusions The new type of saliva suction tube is easy to handle and is a better choice on behalf of doctors, nurses and patients.
