BACKGROUND: Posterior lumbar non-fusion devices have been developed to control vertebral column movement, change load pattern of instability segment, restrict abnormal action, as well as avoid adjacent segment degeneration.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficiency of Wallis dynamic stabilization system in the treatment of lumbar vertebrae instability.METHODS: Ten cases suffering from lumbar instability were selected, including 3 males and 7 females, aged 43-65 years. One patient sustained L_(1/2) and L_(4/5) segmental instability, one was L_(2/3) and another was L_(3/4), and the others were L_(4/5). Two patients complicated with lumbar disc herniation and 7 patients combined with lumbar spinal stenosis at the same affected segment, and 3 patients associated with lumbar spinal stenosis at adjacent segment. All unstable segments were treated with decompression, posterior implantation of Wallis dynamic stabilization system. Visual analogue scale (VAS) and Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores for low back pain and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were used to evaluate clinical outcomes. In addition, therange of motion (ROM) at the instrumented segment and adjacent segments and posterior disc height (PDH) in standing and extension position at L_(4/5) segment were also measured.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: All the patients were followed-up for 2-13 months, mean 9.2 months. The mean operation duration was 128 minutes (90-185 minutes), with bleeding volume of 264 Ml (50-600 Ml). Sings and symptoms of all patients were improved significantly after operation, except one patient with recurrence of L_(4/5) lumbar spinal stenosis at 3 month after surgery, whose symptoms relieved by revision with fenestration and decompression. The postoperative VAS was dramatically decreased than that of preoperation (P=0.003); the JOA score was obviously increased (P=0.002), and the ODI score was decreased (p=0.008). The postoperative range of motion decreased significantly (P<0.05). However, there was no obviously difference between preoperative and postoperative L_(3/4), L_5/S_1 and posterior disc height (P>0.05). Good clinical results can be achieved by surgical intervention with Wallis dynamic stabilization system in treating lumbar vertebrae instability.

Duck circovirus(DuCV),a potential immunosuppressive virus, was investigated in Southern China from March 2006 to December 2009 by using a polymerase chain reaction(PCR)based method. In this study,a total of 138 sick or dead duck samples from 18 different farms were examined with an average DuCV infection rate of~35%. It was found that ducks between the ages of 40~60 days were more susceptible to DuCV. There was no evidence showing that the DuCV virus was capable of vertical transmission. Farms with positive PCR results exhibited no regularly apparent clinical abnormalities such as feathering disorders, growth retardation or lower-than-average weight. The complete genomes of 9. strains from Fujian Province and 1 from Zhejiang Province were sequenced and analyzed. The 10 DuCV genomes, compared with others genomes downloaded from GenBank, ranged in size from 1988 to 1996 base pairs, with sequence identities ranging from 83.2% to 99.8%. Phylogenetic analysis based on genome sequences demonstrated that DuCVs can be divided into two distinct genetic genotypes,Group I(the Euro-USA lineage)and Group II(the Taiwan lineage),with approximately 10.0% genetic difference between the two types. Molecular epidemiological data suggest there is no obvious difference among DuCV strains isolated from different geographic locations or different species, including Duck,Muscovy duck,Mule duck,Cheery duck,Mulard duck and Pekin duck.

Aim To investigate the role of captopril in insulin resistance of endothelial cells induced by high glucose. Methods 1 .Improvement effect of captopril on insulin resistance in HUVECs was observed. The HUVECs were seeded in a 6-well plate and were ran-domly divided into 5 groups, namely, control group, IR group,IR together with different Cap concentrations (low, medium and high concentration),respectively. 2.Improvement effect of Cap on insulin resistance was mediated by PPARγin HUVECs.HUVECs were ran-domly divided into 6 groups, namely, control group, control +PPARγinhibitor (PI)(1 .0 μmol · L -1 ) group,IR group,IR +PI(1 .0 μmol·L -1 )group,IR +Cap(1 ×1 0 -5 mol·L -1 ) group, and IR +Cap +PI (1 .0 μmol·L -1 )group. All indicators were detected. Results After HUVECs were incubated with media containing 33 mmol·L -1 of glucose for 48 h,the NO levels were significantly decreased while ET-1 levels were significantly elevated, showing a significant differ-ence between IR group and control group (P <0.01 ). The expression levels of PPARγmRNA and its protein were somewhat up-regulated,but there was no signifi-cant difference between IR group and control group (P>0.05).When the HUVECs in IR group were treated with DMEM containing glucose (33 mmol·L -1 )for 48 h and insulin for 30 min,the expression levels of PPARγmRNA and its protein in Cap groups were simi-lar to those in the IR group, and there was no signifi-cant difference between the two groups (P >0.05 );however, the expression levels of phosphorylated PPARγprotein in Cap groups were increased compared with IR group (P <0.05).The levels of NO were sig-nificantly increased whereas the levels of ET-1 were decreased in Cap groups, which had significant differ-ences compared with IR group (P <0.05).Nonethe-less,pre-treating with GW9662,a PPARγinhibitor, the improvement effects of Cap were markedly abol-ished.Conclusions Captopril could improve high glucose-induced insulin resistance of endothelial cells mediated by PPARγ,and the underlying mechanisms are related to the activation of PPARγ,rather than its expression.

Objective:
To explore the age related increases and characteristics of static stance balance and control strategies of 3-6 years old preschool children, and to provide a reference for the research of children s physique and the practice of physical education.
Methods:
Using a 2×2×3 (proprioceptive×visual×age) three factor experimental design, standing balance was tested among 105 preschool children aged 3-6 years who were subjected to static for 15 s under four standing postures from January to March 2018. Quantitatively examine the static stance balance ability based on changes in the center of pressure (COP), and quantitatively examine the posture control strategy based on COP frequency domain analysis and nonlinear analysis.
Results:
Among children aged 3-, 4- and 5-6 years old under the condition of open eyes / hard ground AP_ MV and ML_ MV were 18.05, 16.00, 13.40; 13.55, 11.03, 10.12 mm/s respectively; Under the condition of closed eyes/hard ground, children in three age groupsAP_ MV and ML_ MV were 21.01, 19.60, 15.10; 12.20, 10.20, 10.00 mm/s respectively among three age groups of children. The results showed that the sloshing amplitude and average sloshing velocity decrease significantly with age( P <0.01). Under the conditions of open/hard ground and closed/hard ground, the high frequency band in the left-right direction and the low frequency band in the anterior posterior direction increased significantly with age ( P <0.01). Under the condition of open eyes/hard ground, three age groups of AP_ MF and AP_ HF among three age groups of children were 29.00, 28.61, 27.20; 7.45, 7.44 6.01, respectively, indicating that the middle and high frequency bands ( P <0.01) in the anterior posterior direction decreased significantly with age. ML_FD of children aged 3-, 4- and 5-6 years old under the condition of open eyes / hard ground and closed eyes / hard ground was 1.43, 1.44, 1.52; 1.49, 1.48, 1.56/mm, AP_ FD was 1.58, 1.56, 1.52; 1.56, 1.63, 1.61; AP_MSE was 6.81, 6.90, 5.61 ; 7.25 , 7.41,6.60,respectively. The results show that the fractal dimension in the left right direction increases significantly with age, while the fractal dimension and multi scale entropy in the front back direction decrease significantly( P <0.01).
Conclusion
The static stance balance ability of 3-6 years old preschool children shows non linear changes with age,the static posture balance ability of 5-6 years old preschool children is significantly better than that of 3-5 years old , and the balance control strategies of 5-6 years old preschool children is different from that of 3-5 years old.
