Methods: Articulation disorder was treated by velophary-geal obturator in 135 patients with VPI, the rate of VPI(RVPI),improving rate of VPI(IRVPI),the value of third formant frequency(F3)of Chinese vowels and pronunciation were observed before and 180 days,1 and 2 years after treatment. Results: After treatment RVPI was decreased (P

OBJECTIVE:To explore the repairing effect and mechanism of Huazhuo jiedu yukui formula on the mucosal dam-age of rats with ulcerative colitis (UC). METHODS:72 rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, mesalamine group(positive control,0.3 g/kg),Huazhuo jiedu yukui formula low-dose,medium-dose,high-dose groups(5,10,20 g/kg),12 in each group. Except for blank group, other groups were induced UC model. After 4 d of modeling, rats in administration groups received related medicines,ig,blank group and model group received normal saline,ig,once a day,for 2 weeks. After administra-tion,disease activity index(DAI)and mucosal damage index(CMDI)of rats were observed;IL-8,TNF-α contents in serum and cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) expression in colon tissue were detected. RESULTS:Compared with blank group,DAI and CMDI scores in model group were increased;IL-8,TNF-α contents in serum were increased;COX-2 expression in colon tissue was en-hanced,with statistical significances (P<0.05). Compared with model group,DAI and CMDI scores in model group were de-creased;IL-8,TNF-α contents in serum were reduced;COX-2 expression in colon tissue was weakened, with statistical signifi-cances (P<0.05). Compared with mesalamine group, the above-mentioned indicators in Huazhuo jiedu yukui formula medi-um-dose,high-dose groups changed more obviously (P<0.05),and effects of Huazhuo jiedu yukui formula showed significant dose-effect relationship. CONCLUSIONS:Huazhuo jiedu yukui formula can improve disease activity status of UC rats and reduce colon mucosal damage, and the effects of medium-dose and high-dose Huazhuo jiedu yukui formula were better than mesalamine, which may be related to reducing inflammatory reaction and inhibiting COX-2 expression in colon tissue.

Aim To explore the effect of nNOS specific inhibitor 7-nitrioindazole(7-NI) on the neurogenesis after focal cerebral ischemia in the adult mice dentate gyrus. Methods Focal cerebral ischemia was induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO).A bromodeoxyuridine(BrdU) method was used to identify the proliferated cells in hippocampal dentate gyrus.Step-down test was performed to assay the learning and memory function. Results The number of BrdU~+ cells was increased in the ipsilateral but not contralateral dentate gyrus after focal cerebral ischemia.7-NI promoted the increment in the ipsilateral dentate gyrus significantly.7-NI also improved the survival of the new-born cells,as well as the learning and memory function of ischemic mice. Conclusion Our results indicate that nNOS down-regulates the neurogenesis after focal cerebral ischemia.

Objective To compare the effects of three kinds of fixative solutions on paraffin section of mouse lens tissue and optimize the fixing?method of paraffin section in mouse lens tissue. Methods Three kinds of conventional fixatives were selected for the test ,including the conven?tional Davison’s solution, modified Davison’s solution and 10%neutral buffered formalin. Mice eyeball tissues were fixed with three different fixa?tives, embedded, sliced and then stained with HE method. The paraffin slices were observed under the light microscope. Results The structures of lens and retina fixed in conventional Davison ’s fixative solutions were clear and intact ,and the cells were arranged regularly and compactly. There was no eyeball distortion, contraction and retinal detachment in the eyeballs fixed in modified and conventional Davison’s fixative solution. However, the ones fixed in 10%neutral buffered formalin showed eyeball distortion and contraction, space and spherules. Conclusion The mice lens slides made from tissues fixed by conventional Davison ’s fixative solution are better than fixed by modified Davison ’s fixative solution and the 10%neutral buffered formalin fixed ones.

Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2017;33(1):10-14
Objective To compare the consistency and difference of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and traditional multimodal fundus imaging in the diagnosis and activity evaluation of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods A total of 112 exudative AMD patients (130 eyes) were included in this retrospective study, 62 were men (71 eyes) and 50 were women (59 eyes). The mean age was (68.250±9.789) years (range 50–91 years). All patients were underwent traditional multimodal fundus imaging including fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (OCT);OCTA was performed at the same time. The CNV type was divided into active and non-active according to the results of traditional multimodal fundus imaging. The vascular pattern was divided into active and non-active according to the results of OCTA. Using traditional multimodal fundus imaging as the standard, the sensitivity and specialty of OCTA was evaluated. Results In 130 eyes, CNV was visualized on traditional multimodal fundus imaging in 109 eyes (83.8%);CNV was visualized on OCTA in 103 eyes (79.2%), which including 7 eyes of false negative and 1 eye of false positive. The sensitivity of OCTA for CNV diagnosis was 93.6%, with specificity of 95.2%. The CNV detection rate between two methods had no significant difference (Youden index=0.89, Kappa value=0.796, P=0.07). In 109 eyes diagnosed with CNV by traditional multimodal fundus imaging, 73 eyes (67.0%) were active CNV and 36 eyes (33.0%) were non-active CNV;the vascular pattern was active in 60 eyes (55.0%) and non-active in 49 eyes (45.0%). The sensitivity of OCTA for the detection of active CNV was 82.2%, with specificity of 100.0%. The active CNV detection rate between two methods had no significant difference (Youden index=0.82, Kappa value=0.753, P=0.00). Conclusion In the diagnosis and activity evaluation of CNV in exudative AMD, there is remarkable consistency between OCTA and traditional multimodal fundus imaging.
