1.Determination of Matrine in Baishan Tablets by HPLC

OBJECTIVE: To establish an HPLC method for the determination of Matrine in Baishan tablets. METHODS: The analytical column was Aminopropyl (200 mm?4.6 mm, 10 ?m) with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.5% phosphate solution - ethanol(100∶8∶10) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1. The column temperature was set at 30 ℃ and the detection wavelength was set at 220 nm. RESULTS: The linear range of Matrine was 0.27~ 8.66 ?g(r=0.999 8) and the average recovery of Matrine was 99.52 %(RSD=0.91%,n=6). CONCLUSION: The method is simple, accurate and reproducible, and it is applicable for the quality control of Baishan tablets.
2.Radiographic Findings of Amyloidosis in Thorax(A Report of 3 Cases with Review of Literatures)

Objective To improve the radiographic knowlege of amyloidosis in thorax.Methods The clinical data and imaging findings(including Ultrasound,X-ray ,CT)of 3 cases proved pathologically were analyzed retrospectively.Results Imaging findings of amyloidosis in thoray included thinkening of broncho-tracheal wall obstructive atelectasis,pleural effusion,pleural thinkening,pulmonary interstitical involvement,thinkening of ventricular walls.Conclusion Though the imaging examination provides some help in diagnosting amyloidosis in thorax but it should be based on pathological evidence.
3.Comparative Study on Laparoscopic and Open Fenestration

Objective To compare the efficacy of open and laparoscopic fenestration for congenital liver cysts.Methods We analyzed the clinical data of 71 cases with congenital liver cysts,who were treated at our department from June 2000 to June 2006. Among the cases,34 received open fenestration (laparotomy group),and the other 37 underwent laparoscopic fenestration (laparoscopy group). The operation time,perioperative blood loss,postoperative hospital stay,and cost of hospitalization were compared between the two groups. Results The laparoscopy group had significantly shorter operation time [(45?15) min vs (75?15) min,t=-7.016,P=0.000],fewer perioperative blood loss [(24?8) ml vs (50?12) ml,t=-10.823,P=0.000],and shorter postoperative hospital stay [(7.6?1.3) d vs (12.2?2.1) d,t=-11.196,P=0.000] than those in the laparotomy group; whereas no significant difference was observed in the cost of hospitalization between the two groups [(10210?1090) RMB vs (10180?1130) RMB,t=0.114,P=0.910]. None of the patients in both the groups showed bile leakage or massive hemorrhage after the operation. Among the cases,62 patients (62/71,87.3%; 32 in laparoscopy group,and 30 in laparotomy group) received a mean of 25-month follow-up (ranged from 6 to 48 months),during the period,one case of recurrent cyst was detected by B-ultrasonography in laparotomy group. The rate of recurrence was 1.6% (1/62). Conclusions Laparoscopic fenestration can be a replacement of open fenestration owing to its advantages in short operation time and postoperative hospital stay and less hemorrhage and quicker recovery.
4.Aldosterone blockade improves cardiac remodeling after acute myocardial infarction

Objective To investigate the effect of early application of aldosterone receptor blockade-spironolactone on cardiac remodeling in patients with acute myocardial infarction.Methods A total of 616 patients were enrolled in this prospective study,who were admitted to the CCU Division of the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from January 2008 to January 2010.Inclusive criteria were as follows:First-onset STEMI according to the diagnostic criteria in ST-segment elevation acutemyocardial infarction diagnosis and treatment guidelines and admitted within 24 hours from onset.Exclusive criteria were as follows:Non-STEMI,only right ventricular infarction and old myocardial infarction; cardiac function Killip Class Ⅳ or hypotensive state; renal dysfunction(serum creatinine > 221 μmol / L); serum potassium >5.0 mmol / L; longer than 24 hours from onset and older than 75 years of age.All the patients were randomly divided into a control group of standard therapy and a treatment group of standard therapy combined with spironolactone 20 mg per day.Totally 528 patients were observed completely,including 266 patients in the control group and 262 patients in the treatment group.There was no statistical difference of clinical characteristics between the two groups,including age,gender,past medical history,admission situation,and treatment(P > 0.05).The effect of spironolactone on cardiac remodeling、left ventricular function、renal function and blood levels of potassium were evaluated by detecting echocardiography,serum potassium and serum creatinine at one month and one year follow-up.Results Compared with the control group,the echocardiography indicators such as LVESD,LVEDD,LVEF,LAD-ML and LAD-SI were significantly improved in treatment group at one year(P < 0.05).In treatment group,LVESD,LVEDD,LVPWT,LVEF,LAD-ML and LAD-SI were significantly improved at one year than one month(P < 0.05,and P =0.007 to LVEF),and LVEF was significantly improved at one year than one month in control group(P =0.0277).There were no statistical differences of serum potassium and serum creatinine between the two groups.Conclusions On the basis of conventional treatment,the early combination of low dose spironolactone(20 mg/d)could inhibit cardiac remodeling at late stage and prevent heart failure.
5.Study of the relationship between allergic rhinitis and asthma

OBJECTIVE To study the relationship between allergic rhinitis and asthma. METHODS A total of 1526 cases of allergic rhinitis were investigated to elucidate the relationship between allergic rhinitis (A R )a n d b r o n c h i a l a s t h m a (B A ). T h e allergopharma allergic abstraction was used to detect the allergens with the skin prick test. RESULTS Among the AR patients , 43.8 % were complicated with BA. In patients with AR and BA, 52.3 % suffered from AR initially and 36.5 % suffered from BA initially. 42.4 % of the AR cases and 61.7 % of the AR with BA cases had a positive family history. In addition,30.7 % of the AR cases were complicated with allergic dermatitis. CONCLUSION The results suggested that atopic individuals with asthma or rhinitis had a tendency to develop total airway inflammation. Allergic rhinitis was also related to other allergic diseases. The skin prick test showed that the Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus was the commonest allergen in AR patients.
6.Imaging Differential Diagnosis of Vascular Malformations and Intermediary Character Hemangiomas

Objective To explore the imaging differential diagnosis of vascular malformations and intermediary character hemangiomas.Methods The roentgenographic,CT and MRI findings of vascular malformations and intermediary character hemangiomas in 58 cases were analysed retrospectively.Results In 42 cases with vascular malformations,the lesions were irregular with definite margins,and 5 cases showed the bone compressed adjacent to the lesions.31 patients studied with MRI ,3 cases appeared as hyperintensity(equal to fat) and 28 cases appeared as mixed hyperintensity(higher than that of fat) on T2WI,20 cases showed circular markedly vessel-like hyperintensity on T2WI .In 16 cases with intermediary character hemangiomas,7 cases showed circular soft tissue masses,the masses were lobulated in 8 cases and "crab nail" in 1 case,5 cases showed edema of around the tumors and occupying effect on CT and MRI,3 cases showed bone corroded adjacent to the lesions,2 cases showed bony destruction.Of the 11 patients studied with MRI,the lesions showed hyperintensity on T2WI.Conclusion The imaging findings of vascular malformations and intermediary character hemangiomas are different.
7.miR-455 Promotes Cardiac Hypertrophy Induced by Short-term Overloaded Pressure in Experimental Mice

Objective: To investigate the role of miR-455 in cardiac hypertrophy with its potential cellular and molecular mechanism in mice. Methods: The mice model of cardiac hypertrophy was established by transverse aorta constriction (TAC), and 18 male kunming TAC mice were randomly divided into 3 groups:①TAC + miR-455 group,②TAC + GFP (green lfuorescence protein) group and③Sham group (sham operation + GFP).n=6 in each group and all animals were treated for 2 weeks. The hemodynamic and echocardiographic indexes were examined, histo-pathological changes of myocardial tissue were observed by HE and Masson staining. The hypertrophic and ifbrosis gene expressions were measured by RT-PCR, the apoptosis protein level was detected by Western blot analysis. The expressions of miR-455 targeting gene and protein were also determined. Results: Upon 2 weeks modeling, compared with Sham group, TAC+GFP group had increased ratio of heart weight/ body weight (9.78 ± 0.20) mg/g vs (8.25 ± 0.22) mg/g,P<0.01, increased left ventricular diastolic (LVD) wall thicknesses (1.782 ± 0.058) mm vs (1.457 ± 0.050) mm,P<0.05, decreased LVD diameter (3.027 ± 0.052) mm vs (3.142±0.050) mm,P<0.05, increased LVEF (84.167 ± 4.167) % vs (77.000 ± 3.347) %,P<0.05; increased gene expressions of cardiac hypertrophy and ifbrosis, allP<0.05, decreased anti-apoptosis protein and increased promoting apoptosis protein, allP<0.05. Compared with TAC+GFP group, TAC+miR-455 group presented increased ratio of heart weight/body weight (12.04 ± 0.11) mg/g vs (9.78 ± 0.20) mg/g,P<0.01, increased LVD wall thicknesses (1.908 ± 0.062) mm vs (1.782 ± 0.058) mm,P<0.01, decreased LVD diameter (2.893 ± 0.069) mm vs (3.027 ± 0.052) mm,P<0.01, while LVEF was similar between 2 groups,P>0.05; increased gene expression of cardiac hypertrophy,P<0.05, while gene expression of cardiac ifbrosis was similar between 2 groups,P>0.05; the anti-apoptosis protein and promoting apoptosis protein expressions were similar between 2 groups. Compared with Sham group, TAC+GFP group had increased expressions of calreticulin (CALR) and glucose-regulated protein 78 (GRP78), allP<0.01. Compared with TAC+GFP group, TAC+miR-455 group had decreased mRNA and protein expressions of CALR, bothP<0.01, while GRP78 protein expression was similar between 2 groups,P>0.05. Conclusion: miR-455 may promote cardiac hypertrophy induced by short-term overload pressure via targeting CALR in experimental mice.
8.Detection of HPV Types and Neutralizing Antibodies in Women with Genital Warts in Tianjin City,China

The serum samples and corresponding cervical swabs were collected fi'om 50 women with genital warts from Tianjin city,China.The neutralizing antibodies against HPV-16,-18,-58,-45,-6 and-11 in serum samples were tested by using pseudovirus-based neutralization assays and HPV DNAs in cervical swabs were also tested by using a typing kit that can detect 21 types of HPV.The results revealed that 36%(18/50)of sera were positive for type-specific neutralizing antibodies with a titer range of 160-2560,of which 22%(11/50),12%(6/50),10%(5/50),4%(2/50),4%(2/50)and 2%(1/50)were against HPVs-6,-16,-18,-58,.45 and-11,respectively.Additionally,60%(30/50)of samples were HPV DNA-positive,in which the most common types detected were HPV-68(18%),HPV-16(14%),HPV-58(12%),HPV-33(8%)and HPV-6,HPV-11,HPV-18 and HPV-52(6% each).The concordance between HPV DNA and corresponding neutralizing antibodies was 56%(28/50)with a significant difference(P<0.05).The full-length sequences of five HPV types(HPV-42,-52,-53,-58 and-68)were determined and exhibited 98%-100% identities with their reported genomes.The present data may have utility for investigating the natural history of HPV infection and promote the development of HPV vaccines.
9.Study on Protective Effects of Li Medicine Chushi Qufeng Decoction on Arthritis Model Rats Induced by Chicken TypeⅡCollagen

OBJECTIVE:To study the protective effects of Li medicine Chushi qufeng decoction on arthritis model rats. METH-ODS:60 rats were randomly divided into normal group,model group,positive group and Chushi qufeng decoction high-dose,me-dium-dose and low-dose groups [45.9,22.95,11.48 g(crude drug)/kg]. Except for normal group,those groups were given chicken type Ⅱ collagen to induce arthritis model. After modeling,normal group and model group were given normal saline intragastrical-ly,once a day,for consecutive 12 d;Chushi qufeng decoction groups were given relevant medicine intragastrically;positive group was given leflunomide 4.5 mg/kg on 1st-3rd day and 1.8 mg/kg on 4th-12th day. The degree of joint lesion in rats were scored. The degree of joint swelling was determined as well as the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-1β and type Ⅱ collagen antibody. RESULTS:Compared with normal group,arthritis index,degree of joint swelling,the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-1βand typeⅡcollagen anti-body increased significantly in model group (P<0.01). Compared with model group,pathological score of positive group and Chushi qufeng decoction high-dose group decreased significantly,and serum levels of TNF-α,IL-1β and type Ⅱ collagen antibody decreased significantly in treatment groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:Li medicine Chushi qufeng decoction has cer-tain protective effect on arthritis model rats induced by chicken typeⅡcollagen.
10.Strain analyses of left ventricle wall with spatial modulation of magnetization based on two-dimensional method.

We proposed a two-dimensional deformation analysis method in regional ventricular wall motion by using tagged magnetic resonance (MR) images to evaluate the wall functions. In a region surrounded by four image slices, a material point is traced to obtain the displacement and strains. MR images were taken 24 phases over one cardiac cycle in the long and short axes of heart.
