Objective:To identify a suitable biomarker for early diagnosis and prognosis of Candida albicans pneumonia ( CAP) ,we investigated the expression of several biomarkers, such as soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 ( sTREM-1),soluble hemoglobin-haptoglobin scavenger receptor (sCD163),C-reactive protein (CRP),and procalcitonin (PCT),in rabbits with CAP. Methods:A rabbit model was established after immunosuppression of 40 rabbits, randomly divided into 2 groups of 20 each. The experimental group received 1 ml injection of 5×107 cfu/ml C. albicans solution via percutaneous tracheal puncture, while the control group received normal saline. Rabbit blood samples were collected on days 2,3,4,5,6 and 9 post-inoculation and examined for levels of sTREM-1,sCD163,CRP,PCT,interleukin-6 (IL-6),IL-8,IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Other tests included routine blood examination, arterial blood gas test, chest thin-layer computed tomography on days 3 and 9 post-inoculation,lung tissue biopsy, and blood culture to confirm C. albicans infection. Results:The levels of sTREM-1,SCD163,PCT,and TNF-αwere higher in the exper-imental group as compared to control. Additionally,sTREM-1 and CRP indices showed an upward trend during 9 days of observation period in the experimental group, while others showed a short-term increase after inoculation and then declined gradually. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve for CAP diagnosis were calculated as 0. 882,0. 814,0. 685 and 0. 55 for sTREM-1,SCD163, PCT and CRP,respectively. Conclusion: The diagnostic value of biomarkers,sTREM-1 and SCD163,is superior to that of CRP and PCT in the diagnosis of CAP.

Objective:
To investigate the prevalence of anxiety and depression among inpatients with AIDS and its influencing factors, so as to provide the evidence for improving the psychological health among inpatients with AIDS.
Methods:
The inpatients with AIDS that were hospitalized in an infectious disease hospital in Chengdu City were recruited using the convenient sampling method. The demographic features, depression and anxiety were collected using a self-designed questionnaire, Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale ( SDS ), respectively, and factors affecting the development of depression and anxiety were identified using a multivariable linear regression model among inpatients with AIDS.
Results:
The 228 AIDS inpatients included 186 men (81.58%) and 42 women ( 18.42% ), and had a mean age of ( 48.04±16.03 ) years. There were 113 inpatients ( 49.56% ) with a CD4+T cell count of ≤200 cells/μL, and the mean SAS and SDS standardized scores were 35.87±8.01 and 42.07±11.08 among AIDS inpatients, which were both significantly greater than in normal populations ( P<0.05 ). The prevalence rates of anxiety, depression, and comorbid anxiety and depression were 5.26%, 16.23% and 4.82% among the participants, respectively. Multivariable linear regression analysis identified unemployment as a risk factor of anxiety ( β'=0.168, P<0.05 ), and CD4+T cell count as a risk factor of anxiety ( β'=-0.151, P<0.05 ) and depression ( β'=-0.238, P<0.05 ) among inpatients with AIDS.
Conclusions
Anxiety and depression are prevalent among inpatients with AIDS. Unemployment and a low CD4+T cell count may cause a rise in the risk of developing anxiety and depression among inpatients with AIDS.

Objective: To construct a novel tissue engineering complex, BMSCs sheet-RADA16 scaffold, by combining cell sheet and self-assembled peptides.. Methods: The self-assembled peptide RADA16 scaffold was wrapped with the BMSCs cell sheet. The morphology of the cells and the complex were observed by SEM and confocal laser microscopy, and the proliferation of cells was assessed by CCK-8. The osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs was examined by detection of related gene expression with RT-PCR. Results: Compared with the BMSCs cell sheet, the numbers of cells on RADA16 scaffold growth rapidly at 3 rd-8 th day, and BMSCs were more on the scaffold than those on the cell sheet (P<0. 05) . RT-PCR results showed that the expression level of osteogenesis-related genes was higher in the complex (P<0. 05) . Conclusion: BMSCs Sheet-RADA16 Scaffold may promote proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.

Morulaes and blastocysts obtained from Guanzhong dairy goats 6-7 days after mating were treated with whole embryo cultivaton, enzymatic digestion and immunosurgery separately. The goat embryonic stem cells (ESC) were isolated and cultured on a feeder layer of mitomycin-inactivated mouse embryo fibroblasts (MEF). The characteristics of goat ESCs were analyzed by immunohistochemisty, RT-PCR and inducing differentiation in vitro. The results indicated that the embryos were easier to attach the culture dish and form primary colonies with whole embryo method. There were colonies that maintained undifferentiated for 18 passages. The ESCs expressed the protein of Nanog, Oct4 and SSEA-3, whereas the protein of SSEA-4 was absent and the protein of SSEA-1 was weakly expressed. In addition, the genes of Nanog, Oct4, TERT and CD117 were expressed in goat ESCs. The cells also could differentiate to myocardial cells when induced in vitro by DMSO. These results suggest that the goat ESCs have characteristics of ESCs.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2023;22(7):697-703
Objective:To investigate Helicobactor pylori (H. pylori) infection status and interfamilial transmission pattern in Zhengzhou area. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted from September 2020 to march 2021, among 731 individual from 266 families randomly selected from 9 communities of Zhengzhou area. H. pylori infection status was determined by serum antibody tests, and 13C-urea breath test was performed in the previously eradicated population to clarify the current infection status. The individual and familial infection rate, infection status for couples and children and adolescent were analyzed. Results:Among 731 individuals from 266 families, 397 of them were H. pylori positive. The individual infection rate was 54.31% (397/731); among infected individuals 77.83% (307/397) were infected with type Ⅰ strain, 22.67% (90/397) were infected by type Ⅱ strain. Annual household income ( χ2=0.419, 0.410, 0.213, all P>0.05), smoking history (χ 2=0.071, P>0.05), drinking history ( χ2=0.071, P>0.05), dining place ( χ2=0.009, P>0.05), gastrointestinal symptoms ( χ2=0.047, P>0.05), family history of gastric disease ( χ2=0.069, P>0.05), and history of gastric cancer ( χ2=0.004, P>0.05) had no significant differences between H. pylori-positive and -negative groups, but the infection rate in individuals with higher education level was lower ( χ2=4.449, P<0.05). The infection rate was significantly higher in≥18 age groups compared with<18 age groups ( χ2=6.531, 23.362, 20.671, 24.244, 37.948, 14.597 and 5.170, all P<0.05). The familial H. pylori infection rate was 87.59% (233/266), and in 61 families all member were infected (26.18%, 61/233). The positive rate was 23.08% (6/26) in 50 families with children under 18 years when both parents were infected. Among 231 coupled families, both couples were infected in 78 families (33.76%), one couple was infected in 113 families (48.92%), and both couples were not infected in 40 (17.32%). With the increase of marriage time, the infection rate of both spouses increased significantly ( χ2=7.775, 12.662, 15.487, all P<0.05). Conclusions:The distribution of H. pylori infection presents a family cluster pattern, and intrafamilial infection is an important transmission rout of H. pylori. The type I strain of H. pylori is the dominate strain in this area.
