Objective To study portal vein hemodynamics changes after autoiogous bone marrow stem cell transplantation in patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods The hemodynamic parameters, including portal vein diameter, average portal blood flow velocity and spleen size, were determined by Colour Doppler Ultrasonography in 50 patients after autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation and all cases were followed for up to 6 months. Results (1) After autologous marrow stem cell transplantation, the portal vein diameter reduced significantly at different timepoints compared to before the treatment ([1.41 ± 0. 15] cm, [1. 38 ± 0. 11]cm,[1.36±0. 17] cm vs. [1. 53 ±0. 18] cm,t = 1. 987,1.994,1. 976, Ps < 0.05), but we found no significant difference in the comparisons among different timepoints (F = 2. 35 ,P >0.05). (2) After autologous marrow stem cell transplantation, the average portal blood flow velocity increased significantly at different timepoints compared to before the treatment ([15. 7 ± 3. 6] cm/s, [16. 1 ± 2.4] cm/s, [15. 9 ± 3.0] cm/s vs.[11.4 ± 3. 3] cm/s ,t = 2. 345, 2.460,2. 381, Ps < 0. 01) , but we found no significant differences in the comparisons among different timepoints (F = 2. 14, P > 0.05) . (3) After autologous marrow stem cell transplantation,the spleen size reduced significantly at different timepoints compared to before the treatment ([4.8±0.3]cm,[4.7±0.6]cm,[4.8±0.5]cm vs. [5. 2 ±0. 7]cm,t =2. 289,2. 390,2.425,Ps <0.01), but we found no significant differences in the comparisons among different timepoints (F = 2. 26, P > 0.05) .Conclusion The autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation can effectively improve the portal vein blood flow,reduce the spleen size,alleviate portal hypertension in patients with liver cirrhosis.

Objective To investigate variant types and the image features of MRA of intracranial branch of vertebral artery so that to improve the ability in understanding and diagnosing pons and medulla oblongata diseases.Methods Twenty one cases with the intracranial branch of anomaly vertebral artery were comfirmed by MRA.The anomaly types and MRA features,as well as the clincal symptoms were retrospeetively analyzed.Results MRA features of the intracranial branch of vertebral artery in one sides were as follows:Hypoplasia(n=7),Obliteration of some paragraphes(n=2),Sclerosis or increased tortuous and dilatation(n=9);brain stem compressed by the sclerotic vessel (n=3),angioma(n=3).All paticnts had dysfunction of cranionerves of brain stem in different degree and form.Conclusion MRA was a ideal and no tranmatic method to show the anomaly of the intracranial branch of vertebral artery

Fifty outpatients of newly diagnosed hypertension (NDH,with course of disease ≤ 3 months) and 50 patients with routinely revisit hypertension (RRH,with course of disease ≥ 1 year) were consecutively enrolled respectively from February 2010 to July 2010.They were asked to complete the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI),Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and the SF-36 questionnaire.The results showed that compared with the RRH group,the NDH group were more worried about being diagnosed as hypertension,dependence and side effects of antihypertensive drugs and complications of hypertension (all P ＜ 0.05).The NDH group displayed significantly higher level of anxiety compared with that of the RRH group (P ＜ 0.001).No significant differences were found in depression and 8 dimensions of SF-36 forms between two groups (P ＞ 0.05).The results indicated that patients of NDH have significant higher level of anxiety than that of RRH,they should be given more psychological intervention and appropriate health education.

Objective To investigate the effect of modified electroconvulsive therapy (MECT) with different anesthetics on efficacy of patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD). Methods Ninety patients with TRD were enrolled in this study to receive a standard 8 times MECT. The HAMD-17 scale was evaluated before MECT and after the completion of the first, second, third, forth, sixth and eighth MECT session. The TESS scale was evaluated before MECT and after the completion of the last MECT session. Results Scores of HAMD-17 after the completion of the first, second, third, fourth, sixth and eighth MECT session were significantly reduced (P<0.05). There were significant differences of HAMD scales among the three groups since the first MECT session (P < 0.05). The remission rate of ketamine group, propofol group and mixed group was 96.7%, 43.3%, and 73.3% (P < 0.05). Conclusion MECT of ketamine anesthetic might contribute to the best effect of TRD.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical value of clinical pharmacists in clinical treatment team through participating in the treatment of one case of MRSA infection.Methods: According to the infection site, MRSA infection treatment principle and the characteristics of drug treatment, clinical pharmacists assisted physicians in optimizing the therapy plan and provided the pharmaceutical care.Results: Physicians adopted the clinical pharmacist's suggestions, and the symptoms of patient were improved with effectively reduced ADR.Conclusion: The participation of clinical pharmacists in the optimization of anti-infective therapy plan can improve efficacy and security.

Objective To discuss the genetic diversity of Coptis chinensis.Methods The genetic diversity of 78 individuals from seven populations was analyzed by inter-simple sequence repeat(ISSR).Results Twelve primers were selected to produce highly reproducible ISSR bands.Among 106 amplified bands,72 showed polymorphism,the percentage of polymorphic bands reached to 67.92%.Nei's gene diversity index(H)was 0.180 3,Shannon information index(I)was 0.283 2,Gst was 0.681 5.The genetic distance coefficient and genetic similarity were 0.089 4—0.184 6 and 0.832 1—0.912 7,respectively.ConclusionC.chinensis holds high genetic diversity and the majority of genetic variation occurs among the populations.By cluster analysis,the geographical distribution is very obvious.The ISSR marker could be used for the analysis of the genetic diversity and genetic variation of C.chinensis.

Objective To investigate the effects of ketamine and propofol on cardiovascular system and cognitive function in the patients with depression during the modified electroconvulsive therapy (MECT). Methods A total of 60 patients with depression treated by MECT were randomly divided into 2 groups. Induced anesthesia with ketamine and propofol were performed respectively during MECT. The course of treatment was 8 times. The mean arterial pressure(MAP)was recorded before therapy and at 5 min after MECT.Depression and the cognitive function were evaluated by using the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)and the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test(WCST)before treatment and 1 day after treatment. Results There was no significant difference in MAP between the two groups after MECT(P > 0.05). The HAMD scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05). In the total number of errors and the number of random errors,there was no significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05). But in completing classification of WCST ,the ketamine group was better than the propofol group(P<0.05). Conclusion Propofol has no obvious influence on the cognition function and little influence on MAP,so it could be the first choice of anaesthetic for the induction of MECT.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of sophocarpine in rats with alcoholic liver disease and its effects on the expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α,interleukin (IL)-6 and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1.Methods A total of 48 male Sprague-Dawley adult rats were evenly divided into healthy control group,model group,prevention group and treatment group.The rats in the healthy control group were gavaged with 0.9％NaCl every day for 12 weeks.The rats in the model group,prevention group and treatment group were gavaged with alcohol for 12 weeks to establish the model.The prevention group was injected with 20 mg · kg1 · d1 sophocarpine for 12 weeks.Since the fifth week,the treatment group was continuously injected with 20 mg · kg1 · d-1 sophocarpine for eight weeks.The histological changes were evaluated.The serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase ( AST ), alkaline phosphatase (AKP),triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) were examined.And the expression of TNF-α,IL-6 and TGF-β1 in liver tissue at mRNA and protein level were detected with immunohistochemistry and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay.Comparison among groups was perform with single factor analysis of variance,pairwise comparisons with least significant difference method (LSD method),ranked data with Kruskal-Wallis H-test and multiple pairwise comparison with Nemenyi test.Results Compared with model group,hepatic steatosis and inflammatory cell infiltration were significantly improved in the treatment group and prevention group.The levels of ALT (41.40 U/L± 10.53 U/L and 40.75 U/L±6.94 U/L vs 58.37 U/I±5.35 U/L),AST(121.60 U/L±16.24 U/L and 109.50 U/L±9.23 U/L vs 156.63 U/L±32.47 U/L),AKP(114.88 U/L±40.37 U/L and 112.60 U/L±44.34 U/L vs 161.75 U/L±28.95 U/L),TG (4.19 mmol/L±0.99 mmol/L and 2.69 mmol/L± 1.35 mmol/L vs 4.50 mmol/L±0.99 mmol/L) and TC (1.48 mmol/L±0.28 mmol/L and 1.43 mmol/L±0.19 mmol/L vs 1.67 mmol/L±0.20 mmol/L) significantly decreased and the difference was statistically significant ( all P＜0.05).The expression of TNF-α,IL-6 and TGF-β1 at mRNA and protein level in liver tissue of model group were significantly higher than those of healthy control group,prevention group and treatment group.After treated with sophocarpine,the expression of TNF-α(mRNA:1.36 ± 0.08,1.16 ± 0.05 ; protein:3.38 ％ ± 0.82 ％,1.74 ％ ± 0.65 ％ ),IL-6 (mRNA:1.51 ± 0.05,1.39 ± 0.02; protein:5.89％ ± 0.96％,4.26％ ± 0.53％) and TGF-β1 (mRNA:1.39±0.04,1.37±0.02; protein:4.27％ ±0.97％,2.11％ ±0.83％) of treatment group and prevention group at mRNA and protein level significantly lower than those of model group (mRNA:1.81±0.16,1.95 ±0.13,1.84±0.22; protein:5.82％ ± 1.21％,7.63％ ±1.03％,5.33％± 1.12％) and the difference was statistically significant (all P＜0.01).Conclusion Sophocarpine significantly alleviates alcohol induced liver injury in rats,improves liver steatosis and inflammatory reaction degree,which may be related with the downregulation of TNF-α,TGF-β1 and IL-6 expression in liver tissue of ALD rats.

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a noninfectious inflammatory response in nasal mucosa caused by allergens, which is contacted by a specific individual. The immune imbalance of Th1/Th2 plays an important role in the pathogenesis of AR. In?terleukin (IL)-33, the novel cytokine of IL-1 family, is an important regulatory factor of allergic diseases, autoimmune diseas?es and various inflammatory diseases. IL-33 is a kind of alarm, which is mainly secreted and released by damaged tissues and cells, especially impaired epithelial cells and endothelial cells. IL-33 binding to its receptor ST2L can activate a variety of immune cells to produce Th2 cytokines, precipitating and maintaining Th2 polarization, increasing AR immune inflamma?tion, which is the new target of AR in research and treatment. In this article, we have done a brief overview for the biological functions of IL-33 and its receptor ST2L and the research progress in the AR.

OBJECTIVETo study the influences of enhanced UV-B radiation and drought stress on the biomass accumulation and allocation of Fagopyrum dibotrys, and so as to provide a theoretical basis for the cultivation, the protection and use of F. dibotrys.

METHODBy experiment of potted plant, the biomass accumulation and allocation of F. dibotrys were measured under different drought stresses and UV-B radiations.

RESULTIn conditions of adequate water, enhanced UV-B radiation significantly reduced biomass accumulation to root, biomass accumulation to leaves, total biomass accumulation and biomass allocation to root in F. dibotrys, while it could increase biomass allocation to stem. In conditions of moderate drought stress, enhanced UV-B radiation increased biomass accumulation to root, biomass accumulation to stem and biomass accumulation to root. In the conditions of severe drought stress, enhanced UV-B radiation increased biomass accumulation to root, it also could lead in a certain increase to biomass accumulation to stem. Biomass allocation to root, stem and leaves was not sensitive to enhanced UV-B radiation.

CONCLUSIONThe influences of enhanced UV-B radiation in simulation and drought stress on the biomass accumulation and allocation of F. dibotrys were determined by water conditions and different apparatus. Overall, we verified that enhanced UV-B radiation would reduce the influences of biomass accumulation of F. dibotrys by drought.
