Objective To compare the advantages between CT and MRI examination and to evaluate the applied value of diffusion weighted imaging(DWI) in acute cerebral trauma. Methods 54 cases with cerebral trauma were undergone CT and MRI simultaneously, the advantages and disadvantages of both examination were analysed using self-comparative method. Results In showing subarachnoid hemorrhage, ultra-acute cerebral bleeding and bone fracture,CT was better than MRI,but cerebral contusion in 5 cases, laceration of white matter in 5 cases, acute white matter swelling in 2 cases and subdural haematoma in one case were misdiagnosed by CT.DWI was much better to show laceration of white matter and acute cerebral matter swelling than CT and conventional MRI.Conclusion In diagnosing acute cerebral bleeding and bone fracture, CT is better than MRI, for other diagnoses MRI better than CT. DWI should be applied to be a common scan method in diagnose of acute cerebral trauma.

Objectives To summarize and analyze the characteristics ofspina bifida occulta in prenatal ultrasound scan in order to improve the accuracy of diagnosis. Methods Sixteen singleton pregnant women with fetal spina bifida occulta who were diagnosed in the Ultrasonography Department of Dalian Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2014 to April 2015,were enrolled in this study.Diagnosis was made based upon the abnormalities found in the spinal column of fetus during routine ultrasound scan, followed by a close examination on the fetal spinal column and the position of conus medullaris by using multiple scan.Descriptive analysis was used to summarize the characteristics of spina bifida occulta in ultrasonic images. Results Among the 16 cases,12 had subcutaneous mass (nine cases had follicle-like anechoic mass and three cases had masses with strong echoes). The other four cases without subcutaneous mass manifested signs of disappeared physiological curvatures or disordered arrangement of spinal column, angulation deformity or scoliosis,or asymmetry in ossification centers of spinal column on both sides of lesions and lowered position of conus medullaris.Lemon shaped head and banana shaped cerebellum were seen in one case, while the other 15 cases were found no cerebral abnormalities.Eight cases had tethered cord (the position of conus medullaris was lower than the second lumber vertebra),six cases had unclear position of conus medullaris and the other two were normal.Diagnoses for all of the 16 cases were confirmed by MRI after delivery or autopsy or neonatal operation. Conclusions Abnormalities such as subcutaneous mass and tethered cord observed in prenatal ultrasound scan are significant indicators for suspected closed spinal dysraphism and further multiple scan is required to confirm the diagnosis.

Objective To explore the mechanisms of trafficking and signaling of serotonin 1A receptor(5-HT_(1A))and its spatiotemporal distribution in living cells. Methods The mouse 5-HT_(1A) gene amplified by RT-PCR was recombined into pEGFP-N1 vector and the EGFP coding sequence was located in-frame at the C-terminal end of the 5-HT_(1A) receptor. The 5-HT_(1A)-EGFP was transfected into neuron-like PC12 cells as well as HEK293.The transfected cells were visualized using confocal microscopy, the mobility of 5-HT_(1A)-EGFP was monitored by live measurements and fluorescence recovery after photobleaching. Results The 5-HT_(1A) gene was identitical with the published gene sequence NM_008308.4 and a 5-HT_(1A)-EGFP fusion construct was created. After stable transfection of the plasimd into a PC12 cell line and analysis with a confocal laser scanning microscopy, the EGFP-tagged 5-HT_(1A) was predominantly associated with the plasma membrane, but some intracellular vesicles in the perinuclear region also contained the fusion protein. The predominant localization of 5-HT_(1A)-EGFP at the plasma membrane was confirmed in transiently transfected HEK293 cells.Bleached fluorescence was partialy recovered in 100 seconds, indicating that the 5-HT_(1A)-EGFP was mobiled on the membrane. Conclusion Spatiotemporal distribution and mobility of 5-HT_(1A) tagged with EGFP can be monitored in the 5-HT_(1A)-EGFP stable PC12 cell line, which could be an excellent neuron-like experimental cell model for research of 5-HT_(1A) trafficking and signaling.

Objective To analyze the spatial-time distribution characteristics of schistosomiasis in Jiangling County ,Hubei Province from 2006 to 2011. Methods The surveillance data of schistosomiasis of Jiangling County from 2006 to 2011 were col-lected,and a spatial database was established. The spatial-time permutation cluster analysis was performed by SaTScan 9.1.1 to detect the spatial-time cluster areas of schistosomiasis, and a risk map was drawn by ArcGIS 10.0. Results Compared to 2006, the infection rates of human, cattle and Oncomelania hupensis snails decreased by 47.67%,93.34%and 52.41%,respectively in 2011. The space-time permutation clustering analysis of the infection rates of human, cattle and snails showed 4,3 and 4 clusters, respectively, and all the clustered areas were distributed in inner embankment areas. Conclusions From 2006 to 2011,the schistosomiasis endemic situation presents a decline trend in Jiangling County. The detected cluster areas are the im-portant areas for schistosomiasis control. The space-time permutation statistics could be used in the analysis of endemic situation of schistosomiasis.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2010;24(24):1126-1141
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the expression of EMS1 and DcR3 in laryngeal carcinoma and analyze the relation of EMS1 and DcR3.
METHOD:
The expression of EMS1 and DcR3 protein in 41 laryngeal carcinoma fresh samples and 41 para-carcinoma tissues (to cutting margin > 0.5 cm) were measured by flow cytometry, and 15 normal laryngeal mucosa samples were also studied as controls.
RESULT:
(1) The quantitative and qualitative expression of EMS1 and DcR3 protein in laryngeal carcinoma tissues was obviously higher than those in para-carcinoma and in normal laryngeal mucosa tissues respectively (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the expression of para-carcinoma and normal laryngeal mucosa tissues. (2) In laryngeal carcinoma, the expression of EMS1 and DcR3 protein was independent of patients' clinical classification, tumor size, smoking history, patients' age and sex but associated with tumor metastasis, pathological grade and clinical stage. (3) In laryngeal carcinoma, the expression of EMS1 was positively correlated with that of DcR3.
CONCLUSION
EMS1 was positively related to DcR3, which might play an important role in the carcinogenesis and development of laryngeal carcinoma by synergic effect.
