BACKGROUND: Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP), a rare and recurrent autoinflammatory disease, imposes a substantial burden on patients and society. Awareness of GPP in China remains limited. METHODS: This cross-sectional survey, conducted between September 2021 and May 2023 across 14 hospitals in China, included GPP patients of all ages and disease phases. Data collected encompassed demographics, clinical characteristics, economic impact, disease severity, quality of life, and treatment-related complications. Risk factors for GPP recurrence were analyzed. RESULTS: Among 127 patients (female/male ratio = 1.35:1), the mean age of disease onset was 25 years (1st quartile [Q1]-3rd quartile [Q3]: 11-44 years); 29.2% had experienced GPP for more than 10 years. Recurrence occurred in 75.6% of patients, and nearly half reported no identifiable triggers. Younger age at disease onset ( P  = 0.021) and transitioning to plaque psoriasis ( P  = 0.022) were associated with higher recurrence rates. The median diagnostic delay was 8 months (Q1-Q3: 2-41 months), and 32.3% of patients reported misdiagnoses. Comorbidities were present in 53.5% of patients, whereas 51.1% experienced systemic complications during treatment. Depression and anxiety affected 84.5% and 95.6% of patients, respectively. During GPP flares, the median Dermatology Life Quality Index score was 19.0 (Q1-Q3: 13.0-23.5). This score showed significant differences between patients with and without systemic symptoms; it demonstrated correlations with both depression and anxiety scores. Treatment costs caused financial hardship in 55.9% of patients, underscoring the burden associated with GPP. CONCLUSIONS The substantial disease and economic burdens among Chinese GPP patients warrant increased attention. Patients with early onset disease and those transitioning to plaque psoriasis require targeted interventions to mitigate the high recurrence risk.

【Objective】 To investigate the clinical characteristics and treatment strategy of giant multilocular prostatic cystadenoma(GMPC). 【Methods】 The clinical data of a GMPC patient treated in our hospital in July 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The patient was 73 years old. The clinical manifestations were urgent urination and frequent urination. The prostate specific antigen (PSA) increased slightly. MRI showed giant cystic solid space occupying lesion of the prostate. Domestic and foreign cases of prostate cystadenoma from 2000 to 2021 were retrieved for literature review. 【Results】 Transabdominal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy was performed successfully. The postoperative pathological diagnosis was GMPC. Two weeks after operation, the urinary catheter was removed, and there was no discomfort such as urinary frequency or urinary incontinence. After follow-up for more than 8 months, there was no tumor recurrence or metastasis. 【Conclusion】 There are still some disputes about the oncological characteristics and diagnosis and treatment of GMPC, and there is a lack of long-term follow-up results. Laparoscopic prostatectomy is safe and feasible. Most patients have a good prognosis after surgical treatment. It is necessary to formulate an individualized standard treatment plan based on surgery combined with different patients’ conditions to actively improve the prognosis.

Endoscopic teaching has always been a difficult point in clinical medical skill teaching.A standardized teaching plan was set up for the beginners to learn gastroscopy skills,which took 16 weeks.This training program included teaching the basic structure of a gastroscopy,the theory of operation skills,cleaning and disinfection of gastroscopy,and the operation of the virtual digestion endoscopy simulation training system.Only by passing the examinations of what mentioned above,could a beginner do gastroscopy of clinical subjects and write reports.According to a questionnaire survey of 15 trainees,100％ of trainees believed that virtual digestive endoscopy was necessary for the teaching of endoscopic skills.It was believed that the teaching plan were very strict and strict with 63.3％ and 33.3％ respectively.Therefore,this teaching plan with higher recognition and acceptance is suitable for the clinicians specializing in liver diseases and infectious diseases in infectious diseases specialist hospitals,who want to learn gastroscopy skills.

Objective To investigate the antimicrobial resistance profile of the Streptococcus pneumoniae strains isolated from respiratory tract of children in Zhongshan Boai Hospital, Guangdong Province for better management of such infections. Methods The sputum samples were collected from respiratory tract of children in pediatric outpatient and inpatient from May 2013 to August 2017. S. pneumoniae strains were isolated and identified and their susceptibility to antimicrobial agentswas determined. Results The prevalence of S. pneumoniae was 10.6％ (2 963/28 006) in the sputum samples. S. pneumoniae was mainly isolated from children under 6 years old, and relatively higher in winter and spring. About 43.0％ of the S. pneumoniae isolates was associated with mixed infection, especially Moraxella catarrhalis and Haemophilus influenzae. About 6.0％ of the S. pneumoniae isolates were non-susceptible to penicillin, 59.3％ non-susceptible to ceftriaxone, and more than 95％ non-susceptible to erythromycin, clindamycin or tetracycline. However, more than 95％ of the isolates were susceptible to chloramphenicol or ofloxacin. No S. pneumoniae isolate was found resistant to rifampin, linezolid or vancomycin. Conclusions The respiratory tract infection caused by S. pneumoniae of children is increasing year by year, which is associated with age, season, and higher rate of mixed infection. These data showed that penicillin non-susceptible S. pneumoniae is highly prevalent in Zhongshan. More than 95％ of the S. pneumoniae isolates from children are resistant to erythromycin, clindamycin or tetracycline. S. pneumoniae isolates should be closely monitored for the emergence of multidrug resistant strains. Appropriate control measures must be taken according to the results of susceptibility testing.

Objective To study the correlation between serum lipids and thyroid function after withdrawn of thyroid hormone in the patients with differentiated thyroid cancer .Methods One hundred and thirty cases of differentiated thyroid carcinoma treated by operative therapy in our hospital form August 2014 to August 2015 were selected .Serum FT4 ,TSH ,FT3 ,triglyceride ,total cho-lesterol ,LDL-C ,HDL-C indexes were detected before discontinuation of levothyroxine sodium (L-T4) ,before operation and 3 weeks after drug withdrawn .Thus the correlation between blood lipid levels and thyroid function was analyzed .Results The HDL-C and the TSH level was positively related before operation (P<0 .05) ,other indexes had no obvious correlation with thyroid function (P>0 .05);the blood lipid levels after medication withdrawn had no obvious correlation with thyroid function (P>0 .05);the total cholesterol levels after medication discontinuation had negative correlation with FT 3 and FT4 levels(P<0 .05);HDL-C was nega-tively correlated with FT3 and FT4 levels(P<0 .05) ,and positively correlated with TSH level (P<0 .05);LDL-C was negatively correlated with FT4 (P<0 .05) .Conclusion When the application treatment of thyroid hormone is suspended ,with the TSH level increase ,the HDL-C level has somewhat elevation ;total cholesterol ,HDL-C and LDL-C levels are negatively correlated with FT 3 and FT4 ,after discontinuation of medication withdrawn ,the blood lipids metabolism abnormality is closely related with thyroid function decline .

Objective To investigate the relationship between homocystine (Hcy) ,methylenetetra hydrofolate reductase(M T H-FR) C677T and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM ) .Methods A total of 91 GDM cases(GDM group) and 123 cases with normal pregnancy(control group) were detected for the C677T polymorphism of M T HFR and serum levels of Hcy and glucose .Results Serum Hcy level in GDM group was remarkable higher than that of control group (P< 0 .05) .Hcy level was positively correlated with fasting plasma glucose ( P < 0 .05) .The genotype frequencies (CC ,CT ,TT ) of M T HFR C677T in GDM group and control group were with significantly difference(P< 0 .05) .Hcy was significantly higher in women with C677T TT genotype than those with CC genotype(P< 0 .05) .Conclusion Hcy could be related to GDM .The mutation of M T HFR might affect serum Hcy level , and be involved in the occurrence and development of GDM .

OBJECTIVE:To systematically review the efficacy and safety of the aerosol inhalation of Yanhuning for injection in adjuvant treatment of children respiratory system infections,and provide evidence-based basis for the administration way of off-label drug use in clinic. METHODS:Retrieved from PubMed,Science direct,EMBase,CHKD,VIP and Wanfang Database, randomized controlled trials(RCT)or quasi-randomized controlled trials(qRCT)about the aerosol inhalation of Yanhuning for in-jection in adjuvant treatment of children respiratory system infections were collected. Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5.3 software after data extraction and quality evaluation. RESULTS:Totally 11 RCTs were enrolled,involving 982 patients. Results of Meta-analysis showed,the aerosol inhalation of Yanhuning for injection in adjuvant treatment of children respiratory sys-tem infections can significantly improve the clinical total effective rate [OR=4.47,95%CI(2.80,7.16),P<0.001],shorten breath shortness duration [MD=-2.05,95%CI(-2.86,-1.24),P<0.001],cough duration [MD=-1.73,95%CI(-2.34,-1.13),P<0.001] and pulmonary rales duration [MD=-2.13,95%CI(-3.38,-0.89),P<0.001],reduce the hospitalization days [MD=-2.38, 95%CI(-2.86,-1.89),P<0.001],and not increase the incidence of adverse reactions [OR=0.65,95%CI(0.21,2.00),P=0.45], nor shorten the fever duration[MD=-1.18,95%CI(-2.58,0.22),P=0.10]. CONCLUSIONS:The aerosol inhalation of Yanhun-ing for injection can improve the clinical efficacy in adjuvant treatment of children respiratory system infection,it helps to improve respiratory symptoms in children and does not increase the incidence of adverse reactions.

OBJECTIVETo explore the feasibility of preparation of a mouse model of orthotopic colon cancer by injecting tumor cell suspension into mesenteric triangle of the cecum.

METHODSTwenty SPF 8-week old BALB/c mice (male:female = 1:1) were used in this study. The mouse caecum was exposed by laparostomy, and suspension of mouse colon adenocarcinoma CT26. WT cells was injected into the mesenteric triangle of cecum for preparation of a mouse model of orthotopic colon cancer.

RESULTSMouse orthotopic colon cancer was developed by injection of tumor cell suspension into mesenteric triangle of the cecum showing a successful rate of 100%, without intestinal obstruction, and the liver, spleen, diaphragm and mesenteric lymph nodes metastasis rates were high in all the 20 experimental mice.

CONCLUSIONSThe establishment of mouse models of orthotopic colon cancer by injection of tumor cell suspension into the mesenteric triangle is a simple, rapid, and easy to master procedure, causing less damage to the colon wall, safe and with less trauma to the mice. This method may provide an ideal mouse model of orthotopic colon cancer for the study of pathogenesis as well as liver metastasis mechanisms of colon cancer.

Objective To investigate the relationship between serum 1 ,25‐hydroxy vitamin D3 concentration level and children with bronchial asthma .Methods 222 children with bronchial asthma treated in paediatrics of Zhongshan Boai hospital from 2012 Jan 2014 Dec were chosen as asthma group(A) ,while 223 cases of healthy children were selected as control group(C) .Electro‐chemical luminescence method was used to detect the serum level ,and its effect on asthma was disscussed .Results The concen‐tration of serum 1 ,25‐hydroxy vitamin D3 of asthma group (86 .30 ± 27 .70 nmol/L) was low than the control group ( 93 .39 ± 27 . 15nmol/)L .Serum levels of asthma group in different age groups (A1 ,A2 and A3) were 106 .87 ± 28 .28 nmol/L ,88 .98 ± 20 .65 nmol/L ,68 .38 ± 19 .23 nmol/L respectively ,While those of control groups were (110 .00 ± 22 .30) nmol/L ,(87 .36 ± 24 .42) nmol/L ,(21 .23 ± 16 .42) nmol/L respectively .Male and female serum level in asthma group were (88 .26 ± 27 .73)nmol/L and (81 .94 ± 26 .91)nmol/L respectively .While those of control group were(91 .91 ± 26 .57)nmol/L and (85 .69 ± 28 .04) nmol/L re‐spectively .Conclusion There is significant correlation between serum 1 ,25‐hydroxy vitamin D3 level and children with bronchial asthma .,yet no correlation between serum level and gender .1 ,25‐hydroxy vitamin D3 duficiency is one of the risk factors of chil‐dren asthma .
