A novel strain,which could use 2-hydroxypyridine (2HP) as the sole source of carbon,nitrogen,and energy,was isolated from petroleum-contaminated soil at the Liaohe estuarine wetland.Strain 2PR was identified as Arthrobacter based on the morphology and 16S rRNA gene sequence.The optimum growth and degradation condition upon 2PR is 30℃ and pH 7.0,respectively.Under this condition,2HP degradation rate were 97.34％,94.95％,94.48％ and 89.21％ with 2,4,6 and 8 mg/ml initial concentration of 2HP at 42,96,120 and 156 h,respectively.Strain growth and 2HP degradation kinetics studies indicated that the strain followed Logisitic model,which could provide a theoretical and technical reference for the biodegradation of 2HP.The color of strain 2PR culture upon 2HP-MSN changed from colorless to blue,and then turned to brown.The blue pigment,which was observed at the culture of strain 2PR,was identified as 4,5,4',5'-tetrahydroxy-3,3'-diazadiphenoquinone-(2,2') by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis.The LC-MS signal with m/z =249.1 was observed in resting cells reaction sample with 2HP as the substrate.The degradation of 2HP might be achieved by a dioxygenase to produce 2,3,6-trihydroxypyridine,which could transformed to the blue pigment spontaneously,and then 2,3,6-trihydroxypyridine was converted with an pyridine-ring cleavage reaction.Among all the reported strains,strain 2PR has the strongest tolerance and the highest 2HP degradation efficiency at present.The strain has a promising application potential for 2HP waste treatment.

Objective To observe the characteristics of images of optic coherence tomography (OCT) for the macular region of congenital retinoschisis and investigate its significance. Methods The data of OCT of 11 patients (20 eyes) with congenital macular retinoschisis diagnosed by direct or preplaced-mirror ophthalmoscopy, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), and electroretinography (ERG) were retrospectively analyzed. Results The images of OCT showed split in the mid portion of sensory retina at the macula in all eyes. The retina of fovea centralis was divided by the split into two slightly thickening layers. In addition, in a few number of cases, the parafoveal sensory retina which became much thickening with 2 splits, was divided into 3 layers. Conclusion The characteristic of images of OCT in macular congenital retinoschisis is the split cavity at the middle layer of the retina, and OCT has a high sensitivity in the diagnosis of congenital retinoschisis.

Objective To observe clinical effect of mazoplasia treated by chinese and western medicine combined by acupuncture point therapy .Methods The 178 patients were divided into two groups ,one of which was the treatment group treated by oral pro-prietary Chinese medicine in combination with special Chinese and western medicine and post hole therapy ,the other was control group only treated by oral proprietary Chinese medicine .Results The cure rate ,effective rate and recurrence reducing rate of treat-ment group were better than that of control group(P<0 .05) .Conclusion According to the principle of traditional medical treat-ment based on syndrome differentiation ,the new therapy of this article mix together medicine ,acupuncture and western medicine treatment for the treatment of mazoplasia and gains good achievement .The method is simple with an obvious effect and has good clinical application value in the future .

BACKGROUND: Although there are many studies on acute patellar dislocation in adolescents, the optimal treatment strategy is under discussion.OBJECTIVE: To summarize the clinical efficacy of reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) in the treatment of adolescent acute patellar dislocation using double-pulley technique.METHODS: Thirty cases of acute patellar dislocation were enrolled and received reconstruction of the MPFL using double-pulley technique. We proceeded to prepare the bone bed for anchor placement at the medial point of the superior edge of the patella and at the upper 1/3 patella along the long axis of the patella using arthroscopic grinding. Two double-loaded 5.0 anchors were respectively placed at the medial point of patella and at the upper 1/3 patella parallel to the patellar articular surface, and then tied using the double-pulley technique. Long longitudinal incisions were performed at the medial condyle and at the adductor tubercle to expose these two structures, the deep fascias tunnel between two incisions were penetrated to pull the tendon weave end through the tunnel until the lateral side along a femoral tunnel; finally the tendon was fixed using screws in appropriate tightness. All patients were followed for more than 10 months, and the patellar-related parameters and knee function parameters were compared before and after operation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: There were 12 cases of intra-articular cartilage injury and 4 cases of meniscus injury. The patella title angle, Q-angle and outward shift distance at the last follow-up were less than those before operation. Lysholm and International Knee Documentation Committee scores at the last follow-up were higher than those before operation. The mean operation time was (90±10.5) minutes. There was one patient with knee movement angle from 0° to 30° and one patient with a patellar fracture caused by slipping and treated with internal fixation. None of patients appeared with patellar dislocation, positive apprehension test infection or poor wound healing. These results indicate that the simple and mini-invasive double-pulley technique is a good treatment strategy for acute patellar dislocation, because it is consistent with patellar anatomical stability, holds patellar trajectory visibility, quick recovery and good curative effect. Additionally, osteotomy is recommended when the simple efficacy is not satisfactory.

Viperin is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated protein that has been identified as an innate antiviral protein. Viperin expression can be largely upregulated by viruses, interferons, and oligonucleotides such as poly I:C and lipopolysaccharides. Viperin inhibits viral replication by interactiing with host cell proteins and several viral proteins, and disrupting the cell membrane system. It shows a broad-spectrum of antiviral activity. Some viruses have developed activities that counteract the action of viperin during a long- term period of evolution with hosts by impairing viperin expression. In addition to its antiviral effects, viperin has several other biological functions. This article review the basic characteristics of viperin and the state of current research into its antiviral effects, demonstrating the rapid progress that has been made in this field.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of doctor-nurse integration mode in treating patients with liver cirrhosis treated with endoscopic variceal ligation (EVL).Methods According to the random number table,74 patients were randomly divided into control group and experiment group with 37 in each group.The control group was given routine nursing,while the experiment group was managed by doctor-nurse integration nursing mode.The two groups were compared in respect of early re-bleeding after EVL and mastery of health knowledge.Result The mastery of health-related knowledge in the experiment group was better than the control one and the rate of re-bleeding was significantly lower (P<0.05).Conclusion The doctor-nurse integration care mode can reduce the early postoperative re-bleeding after EVL in patients with liver cirrhosis and enhance the health education awareness.

BACKGROUND: Previous researches have proved that both atrial natriuretic polypeptide (ANP) and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) exist in the same endocrine granule of enterochromaffin cell (EC). However, whether ANP may promote or inhibit synthesis and secretion of 5-HT needs to be further studied. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of ANP on synthesis and secretion of 5-HT in EC of rat gastric mucosa.DESIGN: Randomized controlled animals study.SETTING: Immunology Laboratory, Chengde Medical College. MATERIALS: This study was performed at the Immunology Laboratory, Chengde Medical College from October 2004 to July 2007. Forty adult male Wistar rats were provided by the Experimental Animal Center of Chengde Medical College. The experiment was in accordance with animal ethics standards. ANP, 5-HT antibody and serum were provided by Santa Cruz Biotechnology Company, USA.METHODS: Forty rats were randomly into endocrine and exocrine groups, and rats in the two groups were sub-grouped into control and experimental groups with 10 in each group. ANP (28 μg, 14 mg/L) was directly injected into the stomach to mimic ANP luminal secretion and ANP (14 μg, 14 mg/L) was directly injected into the sublingual vein to mimic ANP endocrinal secretion. In above condition, 5-HT immunoreactive positive cell was displayed by using immunohistochemistry technique, numerical density (Nv) of endocrine granule (SG) was counted by using electron microscopic morphometry, and 5-HT level in the serum was measured by using HPLC-ECD technique. And then, the results were compared to the control group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Effects of ANP on density of 5-HT immunoreactive positive cell, numerical density (Nv) of SG and 5-HT level in the serum. RESULTS: Effect of luminal and endocrine ANP on the 5-HT secretion: The density of immunoreactive positive cell and the numerical density (Nv) of SG were significantly increased by luminal and endocrine ANP (P＜0.05), while 5-HT level in serum was significantly reduced by luminal and endocrine ANP (P＜0.05). CONCLUSION: Luminal and endocrinal ANP can inhibit 5-HT release of gastric mucosa but may not change or enhancement its synthesis in rat.

OBJECTIVE To know the clinical antibacterial use by line category in pediatric outpatients and emergency departments.METHODS The antibacterial use by line category from the 38998 prescriptions of pediatric outpatient and emergency departments of a hospital from Jul 1st to Dec 31st 2008 according to the medicament amount and frequency were surveyed and analyzed.RESULTS First-line antibacterial drug DDDs accounted for 37.4% and 24.7% of the total amount;second-line drug DDDs accounted for 48.7% and 40.8% of the total amount and the third-line drug DDDs accounted for 13.9% and 35.0% of the total amount.The top three by total amount were cefmetazole sodium injection,azithromycin sodium injection and Cefuroxime sodium injection.According to the sorting method of DDDs,the top three were cefprozil dry suspension,azithromycin sodium injection and amoxicillin sodium clavulanate potassium injection.CONCLUSIONS Frequency of the third-line antibacterial drug using is relatively high.Clinicians have a tendency to skip a line category in using drugs.Effective measures should be taken to strengthen the management of antibacterials.

BACKGROUND: Development of liver fibrosis accompanies many morphological and functional changes. The pathological alterations of dimethylnitrosamine (DMN)-induced liver fibrosis in rats are similar to those of human liver fibrosis.OBJECTIVE: To observe the dynamic changes in morphology and serum hyaluronic acid (HA), laminin (LN), and type Ⅳ collagen in rats with liver fibrosis induced by DMN.DESIGN: Randomized controlled animal trial.SETTING: Laboratory of Teaching and Research Section of Pathology, College of Medicine, Yanbian University.MATERIALS: Eighty 3-month-old male rats of clean grade with 175-200 g body mass were selected, which were provided by the animal center of College of Medicine, Yanbian University. Agents: Dimethylnitrosamine provided by Sigma company, α smooth muscle actin by Dako company, Sirius red by Aldrich chem company, serum hyaluronic acid,laminin and type Ⅳ collagen kit by Sino-American Biotechnology Company, rabbit-anti-rat I g by Dako, Denmak company. Devices: JEM-1200EX transmission electron microscope made in Japan; enzyme linked immuno analyzer made in Japan; and CMTAS multifunction true color pathological image analysis system developed by Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.METHODS: The experiment was conducted in the College of Medicine, Yanbian University from June 2004 to December 2005. The rats were divided into 2 groups by lot: model group (n =40): The rats were intraperioneally injected with 10 g/L DMN (10 μL/kg) once daily, 3 days a week for 4 weeks; control group (n =40): The matching normal saline was injected at the same period; the blood from the left ventricle was collected and frozen in refrigerator at -70 ℃ before the rats were killed at days 7, 14, 21, and 28 and the liver tissue was removed for electron and light microscope observation. ①The dynamic changes in the content of serum HA, LN and type Ⅳ collagen were measured by enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA). ②The morphological changes and liver fibrosis grading were examined by HE staining,immunohistochemical Sirius-red staining (liver fibrosis degree was classified into 5 grades: grade 0: no fibrosis; grade 1:fibrosis in portal area; grade 2: fibrotic septa between portal tracts; grade 3: fibrosis septa and structure disturbance of hepatic lobule; grade 4: cirrhosis), meanwhile, the area-density percentage of collagen fibrosis was calculated. ③The hepatic stellate cells were detected with transmission electron microscope and immunohistochemical alpha smooth muscle actin (SMA) staining. ④The correlation between area-density percentage of collagen fibrosis during liver fibrosis formation and the serum levels of HA, LN and type Ⅳ collagen was analyzed.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ①The changes in the serum levels of HA, type Ⅳ collagen and LN during liver fibrosis formation; ②The morphological changes and liver fibrosis grading and area-density percentage of collagen fibrosis; ③Transformation and distribution characteristics of hepatic stellate cells; ④The correlation between area-density percentage of collagen fibrosis and the serum levels of HA, LN and type Ⅳ collagen.RESULTS: Among the 80 rats, 34 of the experimental group were modeled successfully, which were involved in the result analysis with the 40 rats in the control group. ①The levels of serum HA, type Ⅳ collagen and LN of the model group were significantly higher compared with the control group from day 7 to 28 (P ＜ 0.05), especially that on the 28th day. ②In the model group, the portal area of the rats showed hemorrhagic necrosis at day 7 after injection of DMN; at day 14,hemorrhage, necrosis and thin fibrotic septa joining central areas of liver were found; at days 21 and 28, thick septa was found; The area-density percentage of collagen fibrosis of the model group was significantly higher compared with the control group at days 7, 14, 21 and 28 (P ＜ 0.05), especially that on the 28th day. There were significant differences in the liver pathologic grading between the two groups at each time point (P ＜ 0.01); the pathologic grading of the model group at day 7 differed from those at days 14 and 28 (P ＜ 0.01). ③The α-SMA positive cells and a transitional hepatic stellate cell were found under the electron microscopy; typical myofibroblast was observed in the model group at day 21 and 28 under the electron microscopy. ④The area-density percentage of collagen fibrosis was positively correlated with the content of serum HA, LN and type Ⅳ collagen (r=0.707, 0.675, 0.662, P＜ 0.01).CONCLUSTON: There are significantly progressional changes in morphological and serum levels of HA, type Ⅳ collagen and LN in different stages of DMN-induced liver fibrosis in rats, moreover, the area-density percentage of collagen fibrosis is positively correlated with the serum levels of HA, LN and type Ⅳ collagen at different stages.
