PURPOSE: Studies have found that long noncoding RNA HEIH (lncRNA-HEIH) is upregulated and facilitates hepatocellular carcinoma tumor growth. However, its clinical significances, roles, and action mechanism in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unidentified. MATERIALS AND METHODS: lncRNA-HEIH expression in CRC tissues and cell lines was measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Cell CountingKit-8, ethynyl deoxyuridine incorporation assay, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling staining, and nude mice xenografts assays were performed to investigate the roles of lncRNA-HEIH. RNA pull-down, RNA immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation, and luciferase reporter assays were performed to investigate the action mechanisms of lncRNA-HEIH. RESULTS: In this study, we found that lncRNA-HEIH is significantly increased in CRC tissues and cell lines. lncRNA-HEIH expression is positively associated with tumor size, invasion depth, and poor prognosis of CRC patients. Enhanced expression of lncRNA-HEIH promotes CRC cell proliferation and decreases apoptosis in vitro, and promotes CRC tumor growth in vivo. Whereas knockdown of lncRNA-HEIH inhibits CRC cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in vitro, and suppresses CRC tumor growth in vivo. Mechanistically, lncRNA-HEIH physically binds to miR-939. The interaction between lncRNA-HEIH and miR-939 damages the binding between miR-939 and nuclear factor κB (NF-κB), increases the binding of NF-κB to Bcl-xL promoter, and promotes the transcription and expression of Bcl-xL. Moreover, Bcl-xL expression is positively associatedwith lncRNA-HEIH in CRC tissues. Blocking the interaction between lncRNA-HEIH and miR-939 abolishes the effects of lncRNA-HEIH on CRC tumorigenesis. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that lncRNA-HEIH promotes CRC tumorigenesis through counteracting miR-939-mediated transcriptional repression of Bcl-xL, and suggested that lncRNA-HEIH may serve as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for CRC.

Modern Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment in Gastroenterology 2024;29(8):909-911,922
Objective To investigate the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)positivity in the urban areas of Chongqing and its relationship with age, season, and gender. Methods A total of 4,836 patients who underwent 14C-UBT testing at our hospital from April 2023 to March 2024 were selected. The detection rate of H.pylori and the infection status of H.pylori in different age groups, genders, and seasons were analyzed.Logistic regression analysis was performed on factors related to H.pylori infection identified in the univariate analysis. Results The positive detection rate of H.pylori in the 4,836 subjects was 29.3%,with a higher rate in males than in females, showing a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The highest positive detection rate of H.pylori was in the summer season, and the peak positivity rate for H.pylori was observed in the 30-39 age group. There was a statistically significant difference in the positive detection rate of H.pylori across seasons and among different age groups(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that gender, age, and season were all influential factors in the outcome of H.pylori infection(P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of H.pylori infection in the urban areas of Chongqing is relatively low,and gender, age, and season are all influential factors for H.pylori infection.

Objective:To improve the diagnostic criteria of suspected cases through investigating the epidemiological and clinical manifestations of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection in children. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the epidemiological and clinical manifestations of six children with novel coronavirus infection diagnosed in Chongqing Three Gorges Central Hospital from February 3, 2020 to February 15, 2020.Compared with the diagnostic criteria of suspected cases, we summarized the problems encountering in the application of this standard in clinic and try to put forward suggestions for improvement. Results:Among the six confirmed cases: five males and one female; three from Hubei Province and three from Wanzhou; six cases of clustered onset of the family.Visiting nature: six cases of suspected case, six cases from community or outpatient screening.Three fever cases with/without respiratory symptoms, one of which had diarrhea; all children′s blood routine and lymphocyte counts were within the normal range; chest CT imagings of No.1 and No.5 case showed typical novel coronavirus pneumonia signs, and the other three patients had abnormalities without the characteristics of novel coronavirus pneumonia, and one case was normal.Comparison results: Only No.1 case fully met the diagnostic criteria, and the remaining cases did not meet the diagnostic criteria for early suspected cases. Conclusion:In order to improve the accuracy and practicality of the diagnosis of suspected cases in children, it is recommended to refine and standardize the diagnostic criteria for some suspected cases.

Objective:
To improve the diagnostic criteria of suspected cases through investigating the epidemiological and clinical manifestations of confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus infection in children.
Methods:
We retrospective analyzed the epidemiological and clinical manifestations of 6 children with new coronavirus infection diagnosed in Chongqing Three Gorges Central Hospital from February 3, 2020 to February 15, 2020 . Compared with the diagnostic criteria of suspected cases,we summarized the problems encountered in the application of this standard in clinical work and try to put forward Suggestions for improvement.
Results:
Among the 6 children with confirmed cases: 5 males and 1 female; 3 from Hubei Province and 3 from Wanzhou ; 6 cases of clustered onset of the family; Visiting nature: 3 cases of suspected case income, 3 cases of community or outpatient screening . Three cases with fever and / or respiratory symptoms, one of which had symptoms of diarrhea; all children's blood routine and lymphocyte counts were within the normal range; chest CT imaging except for cases No. 1 and No. 5 were in line with typical new coronavirus pneumonia signs. In addition, the remaining 3 patients had abnormal imaging but did not have the characteristics of new coronavirus pneumonia, and 1 case was normal. Comparison results:Only case 1 of all cases fully met the diagnostic criteria, and the remaining cases did not meet the diagnostic criteria of early suspected cases.
Conclusion
In order to improve the accuracy and practicality of the diagnosis of suspected cases in children, it is recommended to refine and standardize the diagnostic criteria of some suspected cases.
