BACKGROUND:Biliary stent is widely used in different biliary tract surgeries, and there are some defects in the use of biliary stent. OBJECTIVE:To explore the biodegradability and compatibility of polylactide/glycolide biliary stent. METHODS:The polylactide/glycolide biliary stent was prepared, and immersed in the bile. At 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 weeks after soaking, eight experimental stents were dried and placed under the scanning electron microscope. In the sterile condition, the stent was implanted under the rat skin. At 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 weeks after implantation, two rats were sacrificed. The stent was taken out. The appearance of the stent and muscle structure of experimental animals was observed. The gross appearance of stent was observed at different time by scanning electron microscopy. The rate of degradation was calculated. The muscle structure of experimental animal and the stent were understood. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 1 week, stent shape remained almost intact, but the texture became soft;surface roughness and cracks gradual y appeared;stent wal col apse was visible. The stent was completely degraded at 5 weeks. Before degradation, the stent presented clear three-dimensional reticular structure observed by scanning electron microscopy. With the time extended, the stent surface and section corrosion became worsened. By gel permeation chromatography detection, at 1 week of implantation, the molecular mass of the stent declined rapidly, and then gradual y declined. At 2 weeks, the relative molecular mass decreased to 15 000. At 4 weeks, stent mass loss was approximately 40%. Al the experimental animals were survived, no poisoning, al ergy or heat source response. The operative wound was healed wel , and no infection occurred. By histological observation, at 5 weeks, the stent was completely degraded, with a degradation rate of 100%. Surrounding muscles recovered to a normal state. These results indicate that the polylactide/glycolide biliary stent has good degradation in vitro and biocompatibility.

Objective To investigate Paragonimus westermani infection in the intermediate hosts and animal reservoivs in Jiangxi Province. \ Methods\ Two forest farms in Jingan and Wanzai Counties and one town in Yushan County of Jiangxi Province were selected as pilots for epidemiological and retrospective survey. The intermediate hosts (snails, crabs) and reservoir hosts(cat, dog, civet cat, wildcat, etc.) were collected and examined. Data on the changes of ecological environment and people's behaviors were also collected. \ Results \ The average infection rate in Semisulcospira libertina and Sinopotamon spp. was 0\^21% and 54\^3% respectively, and that of reservoir hosts was 5\^6%. Compared with those in 20 years ago, the infection rate in Sinopotamon spp. decreased considerably. \{Conclusion\}\ The three areas are still endemic for P.westermani with lower prevalence than before possibly due to the change of ecological environment.
3.Interpretation of NCCN clinical practice guidelines for hepatocellular carcinoma, version 2.2023
Journal of Surgery Concepts & Practice 2024;29(2):99-105
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network(NCCN),as the world′s leading non-profit consortium in the field of oncology, continues to update clinical practice guidelines for multiple malignancies annually and has become a benchmark for clinical practice guidelines in oncology worldwide.Currently, the NCCN clinical practice guidelines for hepatocellular carcinoma have been updated to version 2.2023,as compared with version 1.2023 of its main updates for the content of the discussion section. The NCCN guidelines for hepatobiliary cancers have been reorganized to separate guidelines for biliary tract cancers and hepatocellular carcinoma since version 1.2023.The main updates focus on tumor screening, diagnosis, surgery, adjuvant therapy, locoregional therapy, systemic therapy, and so on.The molecular testing was added for the first time. Therefore, the updates of version 1.2023 were highlighted again in the new version 2.2023.This article interpreted the new guidelines and focused on the aspects of updates.

Objective This study aims to obtain a three-dimensional reconstruction model based on magnetic reso-nance imaging(MRI)data of patients with different degrees of unilateral cleft lip and analyze the anatomy and changes in multiple groups of nasolabial muscles under dynamic and static conditions. Methods One normal person and four adult patients with unilateral cleft lip were included, and MRI was performed under static(upper and lower lips closed naturally)and dynamic(pout and grin)conditions.3D Slicer software was used to reconstruct the model and draw the anatomic morphology of nasolabial muscles. The distance between the junction(where the muscle merges into the orbicularis oris)of the levator muscle,zy-gomaticminor muscle, and zygomatic major muscle to the median sagittal plane, the starting point to the junction point, the dynamic and static junction points, and the angle between the connection of dynamic and static junctions and the hori-zontal plane were measured under three kinds of movements, and the ratio was calculated. Results In all patients,un-der dynamic and static conditions, the distance from the muscle junction to the median sagittal plane, their ratios of the cleft side to the non-cleft side were all greater than 1.While the ratios of the distance from the starting point of the mus-cle to the junction point were less than 1.At static conditions, the two ratios of the same muscle increased gradiently with the severity of the cleft, and the ratio of the zygomatic minor muscle was prominent in the same patient. The ratio of the cleft side to the non-cleft side was greater than 1,and the value for comparison was the angle of the line from the static to the dynamic junction and the horizontal plane. Conclusion The symmetry of the insertion site of the orbicularis oris and the linear distance of both sides of the muscle are related to muscle and cleft types. The angle of muscle contraction on the cleft side is greater than that on the non-cleft side.
