Journal of Preventive Medicine 2024;36(10):865-868
Objective:
To investigate the changing trends in injury mortality among permanent residents in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province from 2017 to 2022, so as to provide the basis for formulating injury intervention measures.
Methods:
Injury death data of permanent residents in Jingzhou City from 2017 to 2022 were collected through the Population Death Information Registration and Management System of Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. The crude mortality of injury was analyzed and the standardized mortality was calculated using the data from the Sixth National Population Census in 2010. The changing trend in injury mortality was analyzed using the annual percent change (APC).
Results:
There were 29 220 injury deaths among permanent residents in Jingzhou City from 2017 to 2022, with a crude mortality rate of 88.61/105. The crude mortality rate of injury was higher in males than in females (101.04/105 vs. 75.97/105, P<0.05). The crude mortality rates of injury in males, females and the whole population all showed upward trends (APC=6.572%, 9.232% and 7.731%, all P<0.05). Males, females and the whole population at the ages of 65 years and above appeared upward trends in crude mortality rates of injury (APC=4.603%, 5.064% and 4.851%, all P<0.05). No significant trends were observed in the crude mortality rate in the residents aged <15 years and 15 to <65 years (both P>0.05). The top five causes of injury death were suicide (25.81/105), falls (24.38/105), motor vehicle traffic accident (17.23/105), drowning (8.61/105), and other unintentional accidents and harmful effects (5.63/105). From 2021 to 2022, falls rose to the first cause of injury mortality.
Conclusions
The crude mortality of injury among permanent residents in Jingzhou City from 2017 to 2022 showed an upward trend. Males and residents aged 65 years and above should be prioritized for intervention measures. Notably, falls have become the top cause of injury from 2021 to 2022.

Objective To study the effects of Bis(maltolato) oxovanadium(BMOV) on renal structure of spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHRs) and its mechanism. Methods Thirty-six SHRs were divided into three groups at random: blank group,Nifedipine group and BMOV group. The light microscope and electron microscope were used to examine the pathologic changes of the kidney in rats. Results The rat glomerular mesangial expansion was found and the lumen of glomeruler capillary nearly closed in bland group, while in BMOV group the pathological changes mentioned above were unobvious. Conclusion BMOV may have protective effects on kidney in SHRs.
8. Establishment of the international pharmacopoeia standard for norethisterone tablets
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2017;52(2):147-151
OBJECTIVE: To establish the International Pharmacopoeia standard for norethisterone tablets. METHODS: In accordance with the requirements of the International Pharmacopoeia standard, the existent quality standards of norethisterone tablets and related literatures were referred, appropriate methods were selected, and verification test was carried out to determine the best method. RESULTS: In the system suitability test of thin layer chromatography identification, the spots of norethisterone and ethinylestradiol were separated well. Nine known impurities and other unknown impurities could be separated well by the HPLC method for the examination of related substances, and the impurity with relative retention time of 1.1 was shown to be ethinylestradiol by LC-MS. In 0.1 mol·L-1 hydrochloric acid solution containing 0.09% SDS, norethisterone tablets achieved a dissolution of more than 90% in 30 min and the dissolution curve reached plateau. Under the liquid chromatographic condition for the assay, the linear range was 0.746-29.840 μg·mL-1 (r=0.999 9), and the resolution between norethisterone and ethinylestradiol was over 4.0. CONCLUSION: The established quality standard of norethisterone tablets is simple and accurate, which fully considers the feasibility of the method and accessibility of reagents, thus can effectively control the quality of products.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint pressure plus long-snake moxibustion for upper-limb spastic hemiplegia after cerebral infarction. Methods: A total of 100 patients were randomized into a control group and an observation group, with 50 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with the same conventional internal medicine and rehabilitation training. The control group was treated with additional acupoint pressure therapy, and the observation group was treated with long-snake moxibustion on the basis of the treatment given to the control group. The Ashworth grade, Fugl-Meyer assessment upper limb scale (FMA-UL) and Barthel index (BI) were evaluated, and the root mean square (RMS) values of biceps brachii and flexor carpi radialis on the affected side were measured before and after treatment. The efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the Ashworth grade of the observation group was superior to that of the control group (P<0.05). The scores of FMA-UL and BI in both groups increased compared with those before treatment (all P<0.05), and the scores of FMA-UL and BI in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (both P<0.05). The RMS values of biceps brachii and flexor carpi radialis in both groups decreased compared with those before treatment (all P<0.05), and the RMS values of biceps brachii and flexor carpi radialis in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Based on conventional internal medicine and rehabilitation training, acupoint pressure plus long-snake moxibustion has great therapeutic efficacy for upper-limb spastic hemiplegia after cerebral infarction. It can improve the degree of spasticity of the affected upper limb, reduce the muscle tone of biceps brachii and flexor carpi radialis on the affected side, and enhance the mobility of the affected limb and the activities of daily living.

OBJECTIVETo study the application of Bayes probability model in differentiating yin and yang jaundice syndromes in neonates.
METHODSTotally 107 jaundice neonates who admitted to hospital within 10 days after birth were assigned to two groups according to syndrome differentiation, 68 in the yang jaundice syndrome group and 39 in the yin jaundice syndrome group. Data collected for neonates were factors related to jaundice before, during and after birth. Blood routines, liver and renal functions, and myocardial enzymes were tested on the admission day or the next day. Logistic regression model and Bayes discriminating analysis were used to screen factors important for yin and yang jaundice syndrome differentiation. Finally, Bayes probability model for yin and yang jaundice syndromes was established and assessed.
RESULTSFactors important for yin and yang jaundice syndrome differentiation screened by Logistic regression model and Bayes discriminating analysis included mothers' age, mother with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), gestational age, asphyxia, or ABO hemolytic diseases, red blood cell distribution width (RDW-SD), platelet-large cell ratio (P-LCR), serum direct bilirubin (DBIL), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), cholinesterase (CHE). Bayes discriminating analysis was performed by SPSS to obtain Bayes discriminant function coefficient. Bayes discriminant function was established according to discriminant function coefficients. Yang jaundice syndrome: y1= -21. 701 +2. 589 x mother's age + 1. 037 x GDM-17. 175 x asphyxia + 13. 876 x gestational age + 6. 303 x ABO hemolytic disease + 2.116 x RDW-SD + 0. 831 x DBIL + 0. 012 x ALP + 1. 697 x LCR + 0. 001 x CHE; Yin jaundice syndrome: y2= -33. 511 + 2.991 x mother's age + 3.960 x GDM-12. 877 x asphyxia + 11. 848 x gestational age + 1. 820 x ABO hemolytic disease +2. 231 x RDW-SD +0. 999 x DBIL +0. 023 x ALP +1. 916 x LCR +0. 002 x CHE. Bayes discriminant function was hypothesis tested and got Wilks' λ =0. 393 (P =0. 000). So Bayes discriminant function was proved to be with statistical difference. To check Bayes probability model in discriminating yin and yang jaundice syndromes, coincidence rates for yin and yang jaundice syndromes were both 90% plus.
CONCLUSIONYin and yang jaundice syndromes in neonates could be accurately judged by Bayesian discriminating functions.
