OBJECTIVETo find out the situation of the implementation on "rules on stop smoking in the public places in Beijing", a study was carried out to compare the results from 1997 and 2001.
METHODSThousands of residents aged above 15 in a family were sampled by stratified sampling, and 4 districts were selected as study locales.
RESULTS(1) About 40% of the department or school leaders considered much about the work on banning of smoking with 70 % of the departments or schools having posters of signs on 'ban on smoking' in the meeting rooms. (2) Some of the departments or schools had inspectors looking after the issue. (3) 60% of the people had never or 10% had seen that the inspectors ever criticizing or punishing the smokers who violating the rules. (4) People still often saw some one would smoke in public (the rates were 19.53% , 37.89% , 6.35% respectively in 1997,2001,2004 ). (5) People received the information of these rules through TV news or newspaper.
CONCLUSIONAlthough success had been achieved since the implementation of the Rules, it did not seem to have had substantial progress.

Objective To determine the therapeutic effect of recombined rat insulin-like growth factory 1 gene and transforming growth factor beta-1(TGF-?_1)gene on anterior cruciate ligament transection(ACLT)- induced osteoarthritis-like changes in NZW rabbit knee joints. Methods Eighteen NZW rabbits were divided into 3 groups randomly after osteoanhritis was established by ACLT and another six rabbits were used as normal control group(group 1).Chondrocytes which had been transfected with IGF-1 gene,co-transfected with TGF-?_1 and IGF-1 gene(group 3,4)were injected into the rabbits knee joints.Experimental control group(group 2)only had ACLT bul was not transfected. After 4,8 weeks, rabbits were sacrificed and their joints were evaluated by morphological grades, histological examination,in situ hybridization examination, immunohistochemistry exami- nation, and transmission electron microscopy examination(TEM).Results The morphological grades showed that the normal control group had a very significant difference with the experimental control group(P

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of reversion-inducing cysteine-rich protein with Kazal motifs (RECK), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), and vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) in colorectal cancer.
METHODSS-P immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of RECK, MMP-9 and VEGF-C in colorectal cancer specimen. Colorectal mucosal tissue at least 10 cm away from the tumor was used as control.
RESULTSThe positive expression of RECK in colorectal cancer was significantly lower than that in the controls(53.3% vs. 100%, P<0.05). Both MMP-9 and VEGF-C were over expressed compared with the controls(86.7% vs. 23.3% and 71.7% vs. 13.3% respectively, P<0.01). The expression of RECK was negatively correlated with that of MMP-9 and VEGF-C, and the expression of MMP-9 was positively correlated with that of VEGF-C. There were significant associations between the expression of these proteins and lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and TNM staging (all P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSRECK expression is low in colorectal cancer, while MMP-9 and VEGF-C expressions are high. Combined testing of these 3 markers is important in the evaluation of tumor metastasis and invasion, and is helpful in the prediction of the prognosis.

OBJECTIVETo study the status of beta-lactamase produced by multiresistant Aeromonas selected from cirrhosis patients to provide reference for treatment and reduce resistance and control spreading.
METHODSFour multiresistant Aeromonas strains isolated from serious liver cirrhosis patients from the No. 302 hospital. The TEM resistant genes were detected by PCR and agarose gel electrophoresis.
RESULTSThree TEM-1 positive strains were detected from four multiresistant Aeromonas isolates consisting of one Aeromonas sobria and three Aeromonas hydrophila isolated from blood and ascites. This was further confirmed by gene sequencing. The multiresistance to antibiotics was higher in four Aeromonas isolates. All strains tested were resistant to ampicillin, cefazolin and cefmetazole. The cirrhosis patients who suffered from Aeromonas infection had poor prognosis and had mortality rate of 3/4.
CONCLUSIONThe beta-lactamase TEM-1 resistant genes was detected in clinical multiresistant Aeromonas strain isolated from serious cirrhosis patients. The results suggested that TEM-1 was the main resistance mechanism of Aeromonas strain and was reduced by adding enzyme inhibitor.

OBJECTIVEThis study is to find out the trend of smoking rates among Beijing residents since the implementation of "Rules of Smoking Cessation in Public in Beijing" and to compare the data collected from 1997 and 2001.
METHODSResidents of Beijing, aged above 15 in a family were sampled by stratified sampling, and 4 districts were selected as the study locales.
RESULTSThe over smoking rate of Beijing residents decreased by 7.6 percent with male smoking rate decreased by 13.03% and the female smoking rate ascended by 0.14% during that period.
CONCLUSIONThe smoking rate among residents of Beijing was decreasing which partly giving the credit to the implementation of the "Rules of Smoking Cessation in Public in Beijing".

Biosimilars are biological medicinal products that are highly similar to an already licensed reference product in terms of quality, safety, and efficacy. BAT1706 is being developed by Bio-Thera Solutions, Ltd. as a proposed biosimilar candidate to bevacizumab reference product (Avastin®). Bevacizumab acts by specifically binding to vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), and preventing the interaction of VEGF-A with its receptors on the surface of endothelial cells, then blocking the downstream signaling pathway mediated by ligand-receptor, and inhibiting endothelial angiogenesis, thus inhibiting tumor growth. Comprehensive analytical characterization studies incorporating orthogonal analytical techniques were performed to compare the

P13-OMP (29.1). P13-OMP and OMP68 group challenged with P13 and P11 can be efectivly protected; P13-WCB group challenged with P13 and P11 can not be efectivly protected; the control group were died out. The P13-OMP and OMP68 of Bordetella bronchiseptica has good immunogenicity and protection, so the results of this study lay good theoretical foundation for OMP subunit vaccine.

Objective To study the genotype distribution of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) in ESBLs-producing Escherichia coli (E.coli) isolates from posthepatitic cirrhosis' patients with bloodstream infection. Methods E.coli were isolated in bloodstream from patients with posthepatitic cirrhosis between January and December in 2011.The strains were identified by VITEK-Ⅱ.The antibiol susceptibility tests were performed with K-B method.β-lactamases genes were detected multi-PCR,PCR,sequence and blast. Results A total of 79 non-duplicate clinical isolates of E coli were consecutively collected from liver cirrhosis' patients with bloodstream infection. There were 20 isolates produced TEM-1 type β-lactamases and 1 isolate produced SHV-1 typeβ-lactamases.40 clinical isolates were detected to produce CTX-M type ESBLs,there were 20 CTX-M-1 group and 26 CTX-M-9 group, including 6 stains habouring both CTX-M-1 and CTX-M-9 group.Eight CTX-M genotypes were confirmed by sequencing of the PCR products, including CTX-M-3,CTX-M-14,CTX-M-15,CTX-M-24,CTX-M-28,CTX-M-31,CTX-M-65 and CTX-M-79.Conclusion CTX-M genotype ESBLs was the most popular extended-spectrum β-lactamases in E.coli isolated from liver cirrhosis' patients with bloodstream infection. The CTX-M-14 is the dominant epidemic type.
