1.Damage of mitochondrial DNA and its influence on cells
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 1982;0(02):-
Mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA),a double-stranded circular molecular, encodes several genes essential for mitochondrial and cellular functions despite its small amount of genetic information.Damage of mtDNA can lead to changes of cellular structures and functions and this fact is drawing more and more attention. This review summarized the recent research about mtDNA damage and its influence on cells.

To explore the clinical characteristic and intervention strategies for pregnancy complicated with heart failure. The clinical data of 67 pregnant women with heart failure during January 1998 to December 2010 were collected and analyzed. The rate of heart failure in pregnancy with heart diseases was 31% (67/216).The causes of pregnancy complicated with heart failure were peripartum cardiomyopathy ( n =33,49% ) and hypertensive disorder complicating with pregnancy heart disease( n =28,42% ).Heart failure in pregnancy appeared at an average of (36.0 ± 2.7 ) weeks. The average terminating time of pregnant women with heart failure was ( 36.5 ± 2.1 ) weeks.Cesarean section was the main safe choice of delivery for pregnant women with heart failure. The average weight of newborns for pregnant women with heart failure was(2517 ±541 )g.The rate of neonatal asphyxia was 22% (11/50).Strengthening routine antenatal examination and treating pregnant complications timely can prevent and reduce the incidence of heart failure.

Objective To explore the correlation between Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and recurrent abdominal pain (RAP) in children over 6 years old and its relative treatment.Me-thods One hundred and eighty children over 6 years old with the diagnosis of RAP from Mar.2007 to Feb.2009 were selected,30 healthy children without RAP were taken as the healthy control group at the same period.14C-urea breath test (14C-UBT) was used to detect whether the patient was infected by Hp.The radical cure of Hp was given to the Hp-positive children with RAP,and the remission rate of children with RAP and the Hp negative rate were observed. Results The positive rate in RAP group was 58.33%,which was higher significantly than that in healthy control group(20.00%)(P0.05).The positive rate of those with and without bad eating habits were 45.56% and 12.78%,and the positive rate of with and without family gastrosis history was 49.44% and 8.89%,which both had significant difference between them(Pa

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of tripterygium wilfordii polyglycosidiums(TWP) in treatment of children with henoch -schonlein prupura nephritis (HSPN) and effects on theeir imunologic func-tion.Methods Sixty -seven children with HSPN and 26 healthy children were recruited and HSPN subjects were randomly divided into control group (n =35) and treatment group (n =32).Children in control group were given rest, antianaphylaxis and anticoagulation regular treatment . And Children in treatment group were given TWP 1.5 mg? kg-1 ? d-1 , divided into three times, as well as the regular treatment. After 12 -week treatment, the total remission, side effect and the serum IL -10, IL -8 and TNF -αwere recorded and compared between the HSPN group and healthy group. Results The total remission were 90.6% and 50.3% in the treatment group and control group respectively , which showed that treatment group was much higher (P <0.05).The serum immune function (IL -8,IL -10 and TNF -α) were significantly improved in both of the two group(P <0.05), which indicated a much higher improvement was found in the treatment group (P <0.05).But the IL -8,IL -10 and TNF -αwas statistically different from the healthy children (P <0.05). Three case of elevated transaminase and 2 cases of neutropenia were found during the treatment in the treatment group . Conclusion TWP had percise efficacy and slight side effect on children with HSPN and the immune function could be improved by TWP.

Objective To analyze the expression level of HSP72 and HSP73,the subtypes of HSP70, in peripheral blood lymphocytes from lung carcinoma patients on both basic and heat injury conditions, and to explore the significance of HSP70 in the development of lung cancer. Methods Lung cancer patients were selected'as experimental group, and the health people with similar age, gender, vocational history and inhabi- tation to the experimental group were chosen as control group. The blood lymphocytes from both groups were isolated, cultured and treated with heat injury at either 37℃or 42℃.The expressions of HSP72 and HSP73 in the isolated lymphocytes were determined by Flow Cytometry. Results There were much higher expressions of HSP72 and HSP73 in control group(21.97?2.40 vs 12.77?0.66)than which in experimental group(HSP72 19.0?2.12 vs HSP73 11.74?0.68,P

Objective To observe the clinical effect of neonatal respiratory failure therapy with mechanical ventilation. Methods Forty - eight cases of neonatal respiratory failure were applied endotracheal intubation through mouth. At first, ventilation was given via the intermittent positive - pressure ventilation + peak end - expiratory pressure( IPPV + PEEP) way. Later, the breath parameters were regulated and transited to the intermittent mandatory ventilation( IMV) way according to original illness. When frac - tional concentration of in-spired gas(FiO2)

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(12):-
Objective To explore the changes of C-reactive protein(CRP) and von willebrand(VW) factor levels on pathogenesis of systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS)caused by non-infective diseases in children. Methods Thirty-two children who attained to SIRS criterias caused by non-infective diseases were selected as study group, who were further divided into multiple organ(fai)-lure(MOF)group and non-MOF group according to whether the patients had MOF.Blood samples were taken to measure VW factor and CRP by ELISA and immune turbidimetry respectively.Twenty health children were as control group. Results Concentrations of blood VW factor(37 mg/L) and CRP[(185.50?27.71)%] were significantly higher in children with SIRS than those in control group(all(P

Chinese Journal of Hepatology 2002;10(4):290-293
OBJECTIVETo assess the effects of aspirin on the proliferation and apoptosis of human HCC cells.
METHODSThe effects of aspirin on the synthesis of DNA in SMMC-7721 HCC cells were determined by using (3)H-thymidine incorporation. Apoptosis of SMMC-7721 was studied by observation of morphologic changes, Tunnel method and flow cytometry after treatment with aspirin. We also assessed the effects of aspirin on the growth of HCC xenografts in nude mice in vivo.
RESULTSA dose-dependent suppression (r=-0.918, P<0.01) of (3)H-TdR incorporation in HCC cell line treated with aspirin was observed in the concentration range of 1 10(-1)~10(-7)mol/L. The mean tumor volume and weight in nude mice treated with aspirin were significantly lower than those of the control group. The inhibiting rate for HCC xenografts was 71.62% in the aspirin group. After exposure to aspirin (31 10(-3)mol/L) for 48 hours, HCC cells presented some morphologic features of apoptosis. The apoptosis index was markedly higher in the aspirin group (8.90% 1.32%) than in the control group (0.50% 0.35%, P<0.01). A typical subdiploid peak before G0/G1 phase with an apoptosis rate as 12.79% was also observed.
CONCLUSIONSAspirin inhibits the proliferation and increases the apoptosis of human HCC cells not only in vitro but also in vivo.
