Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of hospital acquired mycotic pneumonia in elderly patients (aged≥ 80 years). Methods The clinical data were reviewed on 64 cases of elderly patients aged 80-93 years with hospital-acquired infection of mycotic pneumonia from June 2007 to July 2011.According to the results of sputum culture, therapy plan was made and antibiotic drugs were selected. Results Among these 64 patients,Candida mycoderma (62.5 %,40 cases) occupied the first place and C.glabrata (20.3%,13 cases) was the second place (x2 =127.50,P<0.01).Their chest x-ray or CT films were not characteristic, but lamellar shadows (68.8%,44cases) and cotton-like shadows (40.6 %,26 cases) were found in the majority.60 cases (93.8 % ) of these patients had more than 3 complications, and 58 cases (90.6%) of them took over 2 kinds of antibiotics. The improvement rate of these patients was 81.3% (52 cases)and mortality rate was 18.8%(12 cases). Conclusions Elderly patients (aged≥ 80 years) with hospital acquired infection of mycotic pneumonia have high incidence and mortality rate. The key point to cure is to make an early diagnosis and treat them as early as possible.

Objective To study and assess clinical application of two Nickel-Titanium(NiTi)rotary instru- ments, namely ProTaper and Hero 642,in preparation of root canals. Methods 125 teeth were divided into three groups and respectively instrumented by stainless K-files,ProTaper or Hero 642 rotary instruments. All teeth were obturated with lateral condensation method. The efficiency of preparation and obturation was analyzed with radio- graphs. Results NiTi rotary instruments were better in keeping the curvature and flow of curved canals than stain- less K files. There was no transportation, apical blockage and ledge in NiTi groups. The operative time was shorter and endodontic flare-up seldom occurred in NiTi groups. Conclusion The NiTi rotary instrumentation technique could be used to prepare curved root canals effectively and quickly. The future use of NiTi engine-driven rotary in- strument appeared to be promising.

This study aimed to analyze the etiology of the encephalitis outbreak in Longyan, Fujian Province, China in 2010, in order to provide valuable information for this prevention and control of this disease. Pathogens were confirmed from cerebrospinal fluid samples with fluorescent RT-PCR, virus isolation (RD cells), and neutralization tests. Then, the VP1 fragments or whole genome nucleotide sequences were determined for four virus strains using PCR. Homology was assessed using the MegAlign software, and a phylogenetic evolutionary tree was drawn using Mega 4.0 software. The results confirmed that the etiology of the outbreak was the ECHO6 intestinal virus, and the nucleotide sequence of the VP1 segment indicated that the C2 subtype was responsible. The genome sequence consisted of 7407 nucleotides, and resembled the genome of other ECHO and CoxB viruses with homology levels of 78.5%-87.3%. The encephalitis outbreak in Longyan in 2010 was caused by the ECHO6 C2 subtype intestinal virus, and its complete genome sequence length is similar to the standard strain (U16283) with a sequence homology of 80.4%.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of different pH on rectum permeability of chlorogenic acid and geniposide.
METHODFour kinds of Reduning suppositories of different pH were separated and put into the rectum to study the suppositories in vitro and the content of chlorogenic acid and geniposide samples was determined by HPLC to calculate the permeation in 24 hours.
RESULTWith increase of pH within 2.5-7.4, the steady state flux of chlorogenic acid was increased, but the steady state flux of geniposidesamples was steady.
CONCLUSIONAdjusted the pH can increase the rectum permeability of active ingredients in Reduning auppositories.

The theoretical basis of the alcohol precipitation process control was provided, the alcohol precipitation was optimized and the relationship equation was got. The monod glycoside, loganin and paeoniflorin were used as the evaluation indexes to determine the impact factors of alcohol precipitation techniques of Liuwei Dihuang decoction by the Plackett-Burman experimental design and the levels of non-significant factors were identified. Then, Box-Behnken response surface methodology was used to research and discuss the critical process parameters influence the effect of alcohol precipitation and draw interaction between key process parameters and the correlation equation with index components. Through the establishment and solving the quadratic regression model of composite score, the optimum preparation conditions of alcohol precipitation techniques of liuwei were as follows: stirring speed was 580 r x min(-1), standing time was 17 hours, alcohol concentration was 34%, the density of Liuwei Dihuang decoction was 1.13. The response surface methodology for optimized alcohol precipitation techniques of Liuwei Dihuang decoction is. reasonable and feasible.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the risk factors of pinhole infection in the fractured lower limbs after external fixation.
METHODSThe case-control study was designed. From May 2009 to May 2014, the clinical data of 272 patients with lower limb fracture treated by external fixation device were collected. All the patients were divided into two groups according to post-operative pinhole infection. There were 29 cases in the case group including 23 males and 6 females. The age of patients in case group ranged from 25 to 77 years old, with the average age of (53.41 ± 12.77) years old. There were 243 cases in control group including 217 males and 26 females. The age of patients in the control group ranged from 27 to 78 years old, with the average age of (48.71 ± 11.87) years old. There were nine risk factors observed in our study including age, gender, fixed time by external fixation device, diabetes, time in bed, smoking, operation condition of other parts in the body, infection condition of other parts in the body.
RESULTSThe results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences among age (χ² = 15.708, P < 0.001), fixed time by external fixation device (χ² = 11.940, P < 0.001), severity of the lower limb fracture (χ² =15.438, P < 0.001), diabetes (χ² = 8.519, P = 0.004) and time in bed (χ² = 7.165, P = 0.007) between case group and control group. The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors of pinhole infection after fixed by external fixation device in the lower limb fracture were the advanced age (OR = 8.327, P < 0.001), fixed time by external fixation device (OR = 6.795, P < 0.001), diabetes (OR = 4.965, P = 0.001) and time in bed (OR = 4.864, P = 0.008).
CONCLUSIONThe advanced age, long fixed time, diabetes and long time in bed could increase the risk of pinhole infection after external fixation in the lower limbs with fracture.

0.05)and the TNM staging (P=0.55).A mild elevated compared other pathological classification was found in small cell lung cancer (0.191?0.275).Conclusions The results showed that RFQ-PCR was suitable for measurement of the mRNA level of PLKI in bronchoscopic bioptic specimens. This study suggest elevated expression of PLK1 might play a important role in development of lung cancer,so that PLK1 might be a potential tumor marker for Lung cancers.Advanced studies will be needed to clarify that PLKI mRNA level do not relate to TNM staging and pathological classification.
