Abstract?AIM: To observe the clinical efficacy of intravitreal Lucentis injection combined with panretinal photocoagulation ( PPR ) and compound trabeculectomy for neovascular glaucoma ( NVG) .?METHODS:A total of 14 cases (14 eyes) with NVG were collected from January to November 2015.All cases were treated with intravitreal lucentis injection, PPR and compound trabeculectomy by turns.Intraocular pressure ( IOP) , visual acuity and the complications at pre-or post-surgery were recorded, respectively.?RESULTS: Followed up for 3-6mo, the average IOP preoperatively was significantly decreased than that detected at post-operation ( 18.00 ±6.70 vs 41.65 ± 4.07mmHg, t=11.288, P<0.05).IOP less than 21mmHg with or without the usage of anti-intraocular pressure drugs was defined as the sign of successful or effective surgery, respectively.At the ultimate follow-up, 11 cases were successful, 2 cases were effective, and the success rate was 79%, effective rate was 14%.Only 1 case was applied cyclocryotherapy due to the uncontrolled IOP. Moreover, the results of visual acuity detection demonstrated that 6 eyes got a better visual acuity, 7 eyes remained the same condition and 1 case got no light perception. Meanwhile, 13 cases showed none iris neovascularization during the follow-up; 1 case got a reappearance of iris neovascularization on the third month, which was then dissolved subjected to the intravitreal lucentis injection in combination with PPR. One case developed post -operative hyphema and absorbed after 1wk. No shallow anterior chamber and eyeball atrophy happened.?CONCLUSION:Intravitreal lucentis injection combined with PPR and compound trabeculectomy is an effective and safe therapeutic strategy for the treatment of NVG.

The depositions of immunoglobulins on the retina of diabetic rat were studied with immunohistochemistry,immunofluorecence and computer analysing system.In comparison with control group, depositions of IgG,IgA and IgM on the retina of diabetic rat induced by streptozotocin were significantly increased (all P＜0.05 ).So the immunoglobulin depositions may contribute to the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy.

Objective To find the optimal scanning time window and then set up the normal binding potentials (BPs) of 2β-carbomethoxy-3β-(4-fluorophenyl)-(N-11C-methyl) tropane (11C-CFT) DAT PET/CT imaging.Methods Thirty-one healthy volunteers (20 males,11 females,average age:(55.7±2.3) years),who all gave written informed consent,were divided into three age and gender-matched groups according to block randomization.Each group underwent static PET/CT scan in different time windows from 40-60 min,60-80 min to 80-100 min after 11C-CFT injection.To determine the best scanning time window,the ratios of caudate and putamen of all volunteers were analyzed using automatic ROI method (caudate (putamen)/parieto-occipital cotex-1) and compared by one-way analysis of variance and the least significant difference (LSD) t test.The ratio of the same area between different age-groups and gender-groups was compared with independent two-sample t test.Results Ratios of left caudate (2.08±0.06,1.75±0.07and 1.77±0.12 respectively),right anterior putamen (2.33±0.06,1.95±0.09 and 2.08±0.12 respectively)and bilateral posterior putamen (left:1.88±0.66,1.55±0.88 and 1.72±0.09; right:1.98±0.07,1.61±0.09and 1.69±0.12) were all different in three time windows (F=3.588,3.345,4.479,3.557,all P＜0.05).There were significant differences in ratios of left caudate,right anterior and bilateral posterior putamen between 40-60 min and the 60-80 min (all P＜0.05),as well as the ratios of left caudate between 40-60 min and the 80-100 min group (P＜0.05).While no valid differences in ratios of those areas were shown between the groups of 60-80 min and 80-100 min scanning time window (all P＞0.05).DAT densities in right and left side of caudate,anterior and posterior putamen were significantly lower in the group over 60 years of age than those under 60 years (t=-3.260,-3.090,-3.270,-3.190,-2.270,-3.110,all P＜0.05),but were not different between gender-groups (t =0.367,0.522,0.144,0.524,0.166,0.004,all P＞0.05).Conclusions Sixty min after injection of 11C-CFT,the BPs achieve stable stage,so the best scanning time window of 11C-CFT DAT PET imaging was 60-80 min after injection.Identification of normal DAT distribution and understanding of normal BPs of 11C-CFF are necessary before its clinical application.

OBJECTIVETo assess the effectiveness and safety on post-stroke dysphagia in chronic stage treated with magnetic-ball sticking therapy at the auricular points.

METHODSNinety cases of post-apoplexy dysphagia in chronic stage were randomized into an auricular points group and an acupuncture group. In the auricular points group, the magnetic-ball sticking therapy was applied to subcortex (pizhixia, AT4), brainstem (naogan, AT(3,4i)), mouth (kou, CO1), cheek (mianjia, LO(5,6i)), tongue (she, LO2) and throat (yanhou, TG3) on one ear each time, and were changed on the other ear once every 3 days. In the acupucnture group, acupuncture was applied to Feng-chi (GB 20), Yifeng (TE 17), Shanglianquan (Extra), Jinjin (EX-HN 12), Yuye (EX-HN 13), Shuigou (GV 26) and Tongli (TH 5), etc. The needles were retained for 30 min in each treatment. The treatment was gi-yen once a day in the two groups and the treatment of 6 days made one session. There was 1 day at an interval among the sessions. Totally, 3 sessions of treatment were required. The video fluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS) was performed for 4 kinds of food with different properties and shapes in each patient. The main indices were Rosenbek penetration-aspiration score, oral-retaining score and throat-retaining score. The efficacy, and the incidences of aspiration pneumonia and malnutrition were compared between the two groups. The nutrition indices were compared before and after treatment between the two groups, such as the skinfold thickness of triceps brachii muscle, serum albumin and peralbumin.

RESULTSIn 21 days of treatment, in the auricular points group, the 1 mL liquid loversol Rosenbek penetration-aspiration score (1.51 +/- 0.69), oral-retaining score (1.17 +/- 0.38) and throat-retaining score (1.30 +/- 0.66) were all lower than those (2.51 +/- 0.67, 1.63 +/- 0.72, 1.67 +/- 0.7) in the acupuncture group separately. The 10 mL liquid loversol Rosenbek penetration-aspiration score (2.27 +/- 0.65), oral-retaining score (1.60 +/- 0.50) and throat-retaining score (1.49 +/- 0.51) were all lower than those (4.19 +/- 0.73, 2.30 +/- 0.51, 2.41 +/- 0.50) in the acupuncture group separately. The 10 mL paste loversol Rosenbek penetration-aspiration score (1.68 +/- 0.81), oral-retaining score (1.11 +/- 0.31) and throat-retaining score (1.10 +/- 0.31) were all lower than those (3.91 +/- 0.68, 1.63 +/- 0.76, 1.60 +/- 0.76) in the acupuncture group separately. The 1/4 cake-form loversol Rosenbek penetration-aspiration score (2.60 +/- 0.65), oral-retaining score (1.40 +/- 0.50) and throat-retaining score (1.74 +/- 0.49) were all lower than those (4.14 +/- 1.10, 2.40 +/- 0.73, 2.30 +/- 0.83) in the acupuncture group separately. The incidence of aspiration pneumonia was 14.9% (7/47) in the auricular points group, which was lower than 55.0% (22/40) in the acupuncture group (P < 0.01). The incidence of malnutrition was 8. 5% (4/47) in the auricular points group, which was lower than 50.0% (20/40) in the acupuncture group (P < 0.01). In 21 days of treatment, the results of the skinfold thickness of triceps brachii muscle and serum albumin in the auricular points group were better than those in the acupuncture group (both P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe magnetic-ball sticking therapy at auricular points achieves the definite efficacy on post-stoke dysphagia in chronic stage and decreases the incidences of aspiration pneumonia and malnutrition. The efficacy of this therapy is better than acupuncture.

Objcetives To sparch for the change of cerebrospinal fluid ferritin (CSF-Ft) content and its clinical significance.Methods The 42 patients with acute lymphatic leukemia(ALL)diagnosed by bone marrow biopsy were divided into 3 groups. There were 14 cases in Ⅰ group [introduced therapy stage without central nervous system leukemia(CNSL)7, 24 cases in Ⅱgroup (complete remission stage without CNSL) and 18 cases in Ⅲ grotip (with CNSL). There were 17 patients with viral encephalitis in viral encephalitis group and 15 patients without central nervous system oisease in control group. The CSF-Ft and SFt were determined by radioimmunoassay.Results The CSF-Ft contents of Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ 、viral encepbalitis and control groups are 7.03 ?2.21 ?g/L,6.75 ?1.94?g/L, 31.06 ? 8.85?g/L, 7.26?1.83?g/L and 6.52 ?1.57?g/L. The CSF-Ft content in Ⅲ group are bigher than that in the other group (P

0.05).Conclusion CYPIA1 MspⅠ polymorphism is not related to the susceptibility to colorectal carcinoma.

OBJECTIVETo explore biomechanical properties and stress-strain of mucosa scars after cleft palate surgery.

METHODSAfter the model of mucosa scars was made, the mucosa scars and normal mucosa were excised and examined immediately by tensionometry.

RESULTSThe mucosa scars after cleft palate surgery were compared with normal mucosa. The Poisson's ratio of mucosa scars and normal mucosa was 0.5 and 0.49, respectively, showing no significant difference between the two groups. The ultimate Young's modulus of mucosa scars was about 24.22 MPa, however, it declined to 3.32 Mpa in normal mucosa.

CONCLUSIONSThe mucosa scars after cleft palate surgery are biomechanically weaker than normal mucosa. It can be used for further research, such as maxillary orthognathic surgery, distraction osteogenesis, and orthodontic treatment.

This article presented the inhibitory activity of methyl 3, 4-dihydroxyphenylacetate on the enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection. The EV71 VP1 capsid protein expression levels were analyzed with Western blotting. Results revealed that the compound is able to inhibit EV71 replication in rhabdomyosarcoma (RD) cells. After being incubated with the compound at a concentration of 0.01 microg x microL(-1) for 48 h, the level of EV71 vp1 mRNA in RD cells decreased by (76.83 +/- 2.47)%. The cytotoxic activity of the compound was evaluated against RD cells by a MTT assay. The results showed that the compound had low toxicity with a CC50 of 0.072 6 microg x microL(-1). These findings suggest that methyl 3, 4-dihydroxyphenylacetate is a novel compound for antiviral therapies against EV71, which merited further investigation.

Objective To investigate the three-dimensional structure of normal male canine prostat- ic duct and acinus system,and to study the mechanism of intraprostatic urinary reflux(IPUR)resulting from high pressure of the posterior urethra by experiment.Methods Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM)and corrosion casting methods,high pressure of the prostatic urethra was produced based upon IPUR in normal male canines.Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS)casting solution was injected into 8 Beagle canines'normal prostates to induce intraprostatie resin solution reflux.Results Six casting molds of nor- real canine prostate specimens were obtained,and the casting failed in 2.By corrosion and casting treatment, the prostate appeared to consist of several glandular lobes.The columnar apophyses of glandular surface were observed.The most glandular ducts pointed outward from urethral peristome.Each glandular duct system was made up of many bifurcated branches from the bough as a duct tree.More than 90% of the bifurcations were Y-shaped,and 6 bifurcated branches were rarely seen.The tip of the duct was vesicular.The diameter and length of the bough were(0.37?0.14)mm and(1.14?0.04)mm,respectively.The intersectional angle of urethra and peripheral glandular duct was the biggest.Peripheral glandular duct was perpendicular or con- verse to urinary flow.Peripheral glandular aeinus appeared elliptic and velvet.The mesh-like and crater-like depressions were shown on the surface of central glandular aeinus.Ejaculatory ducts independently and branchlessly entered the urethra.Conclusions The resin corrosion casting methods combined with SEM can clearly show the three-dimensional structure of normal male canine prostatic duct and acinus system. IPUR may easily occur in the peripheral glands from the morphological view.It is suggested that prostatitis occurs more commonly in peripheral glands,confirming a fact that high pressure of the posterior urethra can induce IPUR.

There are many physical factors affecting the development of cartilage tissue,the mechanical con-dition is the main important one that particularly act.The mechanical conditions used in engineering cartilage tissue,such as compressive and shear force,fluid flow,hydrostatic pressure and tissue deformation or with some of them combined,were reviewed.From the standpoint of bionics,the mechanical environments ap-plied on tissue engineering should work in three aspects:providing adequately mechanical stimuli to the cells seeded in 3-D scaffold;ensuring the efficient mass-transport of the nutrients and waste products in the cells:promoting the development of functionally extracellular matrix in 3-D scaffold.The mechanical environments currently used only represented the part of mechanical conditions of in vive articular cartilage will be reviewed.In our view that rolling depression load may achieve the fit mechanical environment for cultivation of functional cartilage constructs in vitro.
