Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(6):545-546
ObjectiveTo investigate sleep disorder of patients with depression and find out the regularity.Methods78 depression cases in the east-region of Shenyang were evaluated by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire and mental health symptom checklist-90 (SCL-90). The results were contrasted with normal control group.Results63 depression cases (80%) had sleep disorder (PSQI scores≥8) and were significantly higher than normal control group. The PSQI evaluation showed that sleep quality, enter-sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder, hypnotige drugs, function of daytime and total scores of PSQI of the depression group were significantly higher than that of normal control group (P<0.05~0.01). The SCL-90 test showed that scores of somatic, obsessive, depressive, anxiety, phobia, paranoid and mental-illness, etc. and total quota of bad-sleep quality group were significantly higher than that of the fine-sleep quality group (P<0.05~0.01).ConclusionDepression patients have significantly descent in sleep quality, latter is often closely related to the mental psychotic expressiveness of somatic, obsession, depression, anxiety, phobia, etc.

Objective To explore the clinical application of perforating branch flap of medial vastus muscle. Methods Perforating branch flap (muscle branch) of medial vastus muscle was designed by using the surface projection of the medial vastus muscle artery as flap anxial line and the given point of direct cutaneous artery as flap center to repair skin and soft tissue defects of the knee in seven patients. Results All flaps survived well with primary healing in all patients, with one stage healing. After a follow-up for 1-18 months, all flaps turned out to be with good texture and satisfactory appearance and function of the flaps. Conclusion The surgery of perforating branch flap of medial vastus muscle is simple, safe and easy handling and provides a new feasible surgical procedure to repair skin and soft tissue defects of medial femur and around the knee.

Objective To discuss clinical application of descending genicular artery perforator flap. Methods According to the anatomic features of direction, branches and anastomosis of the descending genicular artery, the descending genicular genicular artery perforator flap at medial superior aspect of knee joint was designed to reconstruct the soft tissue defects at the anterior medial 1/3 of the calf and the anterior medial part and popliteal fossa of the knee, with the axis based on the anterior border of the Sartorius and with the pivot point on the site where the cutaneous branches from the superior medial genicular artery pierced out within the triangle concave surface bounded by the vastus medialis, the tendon of adductor magnus and the condylus medialis. Results All flaps survived well in five patients, with primary healing. After a follow-up of 1-12 months, all flaps turned out to be with good texture,near-normal color and good appearance. Conclusion With a constant anatomic location, excellent blood supply and easy surgical procedure, the descending genicular artery perforator flap is one of feasible ways for repair of soft tissue defects around the knee.

Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2013;(10):953-958
Objectives To explore suitable conditions for establishing food allergy model through sensitization by in-traperitoneal injection (i.p) with low-dose ovalbumin (OVA) and challenge by gavage with high-dose OVA in SD young rats, and to evaluate the model. Methods Sixteen three-week-old female SD young rats were randomly divided into two groups with 8 rats each. SD young rats in food allergy (FA) group were ifrst sensitized by intraperitoneal injection with 0.2 ml suspension mixed with 40 μg OVA and 1mg Al(OH)3 on the ifrst day (d 0), then intraperitoneally injected with 0.2 ml (40 μg) OVA solution on days 2, 4, 7, 9 and 11, and lastly challenged by gavage with 2.0 ml (15 mg/ml) OVA solution on days 20, 24, 28 and 30. The rats in the control group were intraperitoneally injected and gavaged with the same volume of normal saline instead of OVA during the same period. The eosinophils (EOS), mast cells (MC), the integrity of MC in intestinal mucosa of two groups were observed, and ovalbumin speciifc IgE (OVA-IgE) levels in serum were analyzed. Results The rats in FA group had lusterless hair and diarrhea, and compared with control group, OVA-IgE levels were increased signiifcantly (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the intestinal mucosa of jejunum, ileum and colon in FA group had more damage, with more EOS and degranu-lated MC aggregated (P<0.01). Conclusions The allergy model established through sensitization by intraperitoneal injection with low-dose OVA mixed with adjuvant Al(OH)3 and challenge by gavage with high-dose OVA in young rats had clinical features and intestinal pathological changes consistent with food allergy infants and it was an ideal food allergy model in SD young rats.

BackgroundOur previous study determined that tetrandrine (Tet) has an inhibitory effect on the proliferation of human Tenon capsule fibroblasts ( TCFs ) in vitro, but its mechanism is poorly understood.ObjectiveThis study was to investigate the effect mechanism of Tet on human TCFs.MethodsHuman TCFs were isolated and cultured from scleral tissue of donor using explant technique. The cells were identified by vimentin antibody staining and morphology. The third generation of cells were seeded in the culture plate at the density of 1 × 105 cells/ml.Twenty-four hours after inoculation, the Tet of 1 × 10-5 mol/L was added in the well of culture plate, and the cells cultured only in 1640 medium served as the control group. The apoptosis of the cells was assessed by TUNEL,and the expressions of bax,bel-2,transforming growth factor-β2 (TGF-β2 ) in TCFs were detected using immunochemistry. Results The cultured cells showed the features of the fibroblasts in shape with the positive response for vimentin.A number of TUNEL positive cells were seen in Tet group and no TUNEL positive response was found in control group. The expression levels (A value) of bax,bcl-2 and TGF-~ protein in TCFs were 0.577 ± 0.009,0.430±0.012 and 0.341 ±0.017 in Tet group, and those in control group were 0.320±0.015,0.819±0.021 and 0.624±0.014 respectively, showing statistically significant differences between two groups( t =33.277,-35.356,-28.093,P<0.01 ).Conclusions Tet suppresses the proliferation of human TCFs through up-regulating the expression of bax and down-regulating the expressions of bcl-2 and TGF-β2 in vitro.
