OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of Kangfuxin liquid combined with Oral ulcer powder on inflammatory cyto-kines and therapeutic efficacy of recurrent aphthous ulcer. METHODS:134 patients with recurrent aphthous ulcer were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 67 cases in each group. Both groups received routine treatment;control group was additionally given Oral ulcer powder,q2 h;observation group was additionally given Kangfuxin liquid,10 ml/time,gar-gling for 5-10 min and then swallowing slowly,tid. Treatment course of 2 groups lasted for 7 d. Clinical symptoms,serum inflam-matory cytokines,clinical symptom improvement and recurrence were observed in 2 groups. RESULTS:Total effective rate of ob-servation group was 95.52%,which was significantly higher than that of control group(82.09%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). The levels of TNF-α,IL-1 and IL-6 in observation group were significantly lower than those of control group,with statisti-cal significance(P<0.05);ulcer duration and VAS score of observation group were significantly shorter or lower than those of con-trol group,with statistical significance(P<0.05);after followed up for 6 months,recurrence rate of observation group(11.94%) was significantly lower than that of control group(31.34%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Kangfuxin liquid combined with Oral ulcer powder helps to lower levels of inflammatory cytokines of patients with recurrent aphthous ulcer, relieve the clinical symptoms,then improve therapeutic efficacy and reduce recurrence rate.

Objectives To explore suitable conditions for establishing food allergy model through sensitization by in-traperitoneal injection (i.p) with low-dose ovalbumin (OVA) and challenge by gavage with high-dose OVA in SD young rats, and to evaluate the model. Methods Sixteen three-week-old female SD young rats were randomly divided into two groups with 8 rats each. SD young rats in food allergy (FA) group were ifrst sensitized by intraperitoneal injection with 0.2 ml suspension mixed with 40 μg OVA and 1mg Al(OH)3 on the ifrst day (d 0), then intraperitoneally injected with 0.2 ml (40 μg) OVA solution on days 2, 4, 7, 9 and 11, and lastly challenged by gavage with 2.0 ml (15 mg/ml) OVA solution on days 20, 24, 28 and 30. The rats in the control group were intraperitoneally injected and gavaged with the same volume of normal saline instead of OVA during the same period. The eosinophils (EOS), mast cells (MC), the integrity of MC in intestinal mucosa of two groups were observed, and ovalbumin speciifc IgE (OVA-IgE) levels in serum were analyzed. Results The rats in FA group had lusterless hair and diarrhea, and compared with control group, OVA-IgE levels were increased signiifcantly (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the intestinal mucosa of jejunum, ileum and colon in FA group had more damage, with more EOS and degranu-lated MC aggregated (P<0.01). Conclusions The allergy model established through sensitization by intraperitoneal injection with low-dose OVA mixed with adjuvant Al(OH)3 and challenge by gavage with high-dose OVA in young rats had clinical features and intestinal pathological changes consistent with food allergy infants and it was an ideal food allergy model in SD young rats.

Objective To investigate the expression of human bone morphogenetic protein-7(hBMP-7)in rat bone malTOW stromal cells(BMSC)with a recombinant adenovirai vector carrying the hBMP-7 gene(Ad-hBMP-7) and study the effecta of Ad-hBMP-7 transfection on BMSC difierentiation.in order to explore the possibility for hBMP-7 gene therpy.Methods The rat BMSC cultured in vitro.They were divided into 3 groups:untreated group,Ad-hBMP-7 and Ad-GFP transduced treated group.The rat BMSC were transfected by Ad-hBMP-7 and Ad-GFP. The expression of hBMP-7 was detected by RT-PCR and Western blot analysis.and the alkaline phosphatage (ALP)activity of the BMSC was observed.ResulIs In the Ad-hBMP-7 transduced treated group.hBMP-7 mRNA expression wag manifested detected by RT-PCR(470 bp),Westem blot analysis demonstrated that these cells indeed produced the hBMP-7 protein(Mr.15×103);10 days after transduction treatment,most of the BMSC were had brown black particles stained positively by ALP activity.But in Ad-GFP transduced treated group and untreated group they did not.Conclusions Ad-hBMP-7 could efficiently transfect BMSC and promote the conversion to osteoblast.The expression of hBMP-7 in rat BMSC provides a basis for hBMP-7 gene therapv.

Objective To study the chemical constituents from the roots of Euphorbia sonngarica. Methods Compounds were isolated by Sephadex LH-20,MPLC,and silica gel column chromatographies. Their structures were identified by spectral methods together with physicochemical analysis.Results Eleven compounds were isolated from the roots of E.sonngarica.They were identified as cryptomeridiol (Ⅰ),betulin(Ⅱ),betulinic acid(Ⅲ),3?-hydroxy-olean-12-en-28-oic acid(Ⅳ),7-oxo-?sitosterol (Ⅴ),erythrinasinate(Ⅵ),octaeosanoie acid(Ⅶ),1-octacosene(Ⅷ),24-methene-cycloartenol(Ⅸ),eu- phol(Ⅹ),?-sitosterol(Ⅺ).Conclusion CompoundsⅠ-Ⅷare isolated from this plant for the first time.

Objective To investigate the correlation between prostacyclin synthase (prostaglandin I2 synthase, PGIS) gene rs5602 single nucleotide polymorphism and ischemia stroke in Chinese Han population. Methods The patients with ischemia stroke and healthy controls in Chinese Han population were enroled. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI TOF MS) was used to detect the rs5602 polymorphism. Results A total of 297 patients with ischemic stroke (male 177 and female 120) and 291 healthy controls (male 165, female 126) over the same period were enroled. The frequencies of TT genotype (31. 1% vs. 43. 6% ; χ2 = 5. 773, P = 0. 016) and T alele (56. 8% vs. 65. 8% ; χ2 = 5. 793, P = 0. 016) in the male patients with ischemic stroke were significantly lower than those in the male healthy controls. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the rs5602 TT genotype was a protective factor for ischemic stroke in male (odds ratio 0. 260, 95% confidence interval 0. 118-0. 570; P = 0. 001). Conclusions PGIS gene rs5602 polymorphism is associated with ischemic stroke in male in Chinese Han population.

Objective To observe the influence of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNFα) on skeletal muscle protein catabolism in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and the effects of indomethacin (IND) on it. Methods Duplicated COPD model rats were divided into two groups: the malnutrition group and the normal nutrition group. The malnutrition group were further divided by randomized block design into four groups. Isotonic physiologic saline was administered to group A, the control and the normal nutrition group, and different doses of oral IND were administered to groups B, C, and D weight, concentrations of TNFα, contents of 3-methyl-histidine ( 3- M H ) and tyrosine (Tyr) in the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscle homogenates were measured before and after the intervention. Results Before the intervention, the concentrations of TNFα in the serum of malnutrition groups were all significantly higher than those of normal nutrition group and the control group. After the intervention: (1) The concentrations of TNFα in the serum of the rats of group B, C and D were significantly lower than the group A, especially in group C. The levels of TNFα in serum and body weight of model group rats were negatively correlated ( r = -0. 846, P ＜0. 01 ), as well as the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscle weights ( r = - 0. 778, P ＜ 0. 01; r = - 0. 772, P ＜ 0. 01 ). (2) The levels of 3-methyl-histidine in the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscles of the intervention group C was lower than the COPD normal nutrition group, as well as the intervention groups B and D. The contents of tyrosine in the diaphragm and extensor digitorum longus muscles of the intervention group C was lower than that of the COPD normal nutrition group,as well as the groups B and D. The body weight growth value of the intervention group B were slightly higher than the group A, without significant difference( P ＞ 0. 05 ), while the group C was significantly higher than the group A ( P ＜ 0. 01 ). Conclusions TNFα is involved in the occurrence of COPD malnutrition and skeletal muscle amyotrophy. IND can reduce the TNFα levels in the serum and the catabolic rates of the skeletal muscle proteins in malnutrition rats with COPD, so as to improve partly the skeletal muscle atrophy.

The natural attribute of Chinese herb include shape, color, texture, smell, harvesting time, medicinal parts, chemical components, and so on. Though both of them have different key points, the natural attribute of Chinese herb can also be used to explain its medicinal mechanism. Therefore, the correlation research between pharmacological method state and the natural attribute of Chinese herb has some significance.
