Objective To assess the safety among acute ischemic stroke patients with asymptomatic intracranial aneurysm after the administration of intravenous thrombolysis.Methods We searched database including Wanfang,CNKI,VIP,Pubmed,EMBASE,EBSCO HOST and Metstr data for all the cohort studies on the use of thrombolysis for acute ischemic patients with asymptomatic intracranial aneurysm,and ascended the correlated references listed on the articles.Meta-analysis was conducted based on the methods recommended by the Cochrane collaboration.The outcomes of the meta-analysis were intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH),symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH),subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).Results Four cohort studies included 707 patients,of whom 48 patients had asymptomatic cerebral aneurysms.The risk ratio prevalence of ICH among those patients did not differ statistically with those without aneurysms (RR =1.17,95％ CI 0.69-1.99,P =0.56).No statistical differences were found in both odds ratio prevalence of sICH (OR =1.70,95％ CI 0.44-6.59,P =0.45) and SAH (OR =1.13,95％ CI 0.20-6.27,P =0.89) between the patients with asymptomatic cerebral aneurysms and those without.Conclusion Current evidence did not indicate that the risk of hemorrhage increased in acute ischemic stroke patients with asymptomatic intracranial aneurysm after the administration of intravenous thrombolysis.

AIM: To study the effect of extract from Pongamia pinnata roots on anti-inflammation and analgesia and acute toxicity. METHODS: The models of mice ear edema induced by xylene and Cotton pellet granuloma in rats to observe the anti-inflammation effect of PRE via oral administration. The effect of PRE on analgesia was tested by measuring the latent period licking hind foot with the hot plate method and counting body twisting induced by acetic acid in mice. The acute toxicity of PRE was measured by the method of Bliss. RESULTS: PRE could significantly inhibit the ear edema caused by xylene in mice, granuloma hyperplasia caused by cotton in rats. It could significantly prolong the pain threshold on hot-plate in mice, reduce the writhing times in mice. The LD50 of PRE was 6. 371 8 g/kg, its 95% confident limit was 5. 408 4-7. 723 2 g/kg. CONCLUSION: PRE has obvious effect on anti-inflammation and analgesia and the lower acute toxicity.

Fhx/P25 in silkworm, Bombyx mori, one of the main components of silk fibroin, is presumed in previous reports to be expressed exclusively in the posterior silk gland (PSG) of the animal with strict territorial and developmental specificities. On the basis of a large-scale analysis ofthe silkworm EST data, it was found that Fhx/P25 gene is transcribed not only in the posterior silk gland, but in the ovary and in other tissues of the larvae at day 3 of the fifth-instar as well and that this gene has distinct transcription start sites (TSSs) in the posterior silk gland and the ovary. The TSS in the ovary is located about 115 bp upstream sequence of that in the posterior silk gland. Subsequent RT-PCR, FQ-PCR and sequencing have verified the validity of this presumption. In addition, alternative splicing is predicted in pre-mRNA of Fhx/P25 gene and confirmed by RT-PCR. In conclusion, Fhx/P25 gene is not a gene with strictly tissue-specific transcription.Complicated regulation mechanisms may exist for its transcription and expression and it may have other functions to perform.

Objective To study the effect of antiapoptosis factors PED/PEA-15 and XIAP on prostate cancer cells(PC-3)apoptosis.Methods The expressions of XIAP and PED/PEA-15 in prostate cancer cells(PC-3)were respectively assayed using the RT-PCR technique.XIAP and PED/ PEA-15 specific siRNA vectors were designed and constructed and then were transiently cotransfected into PC-3 cells under induction of liposome.The effects of siRNA vectors on PED/PEA-15 and XIAP transcription were assayed by RT-PCR technique,and the effect of XIAP and PED/PEA-15 on cancer cell apoptosis were determined by flow cytometry and microscope observation.Results PED/PEA- 15 and XIAP were both highly expressed in PC-3 cells.Enzyme digestion analysis and DNA sequencing confirmed that the PED/PEA-15 and XIAP-specific siRNA expression vectors were constructed successfully.The designed siRNA sequences of PED/PEA-15 and XIAP could specifically inhibit their transcription.The PC-3 cells which were cotransfected with PED/PEA-15 and XIAP- specific siRNA vectors were more sensitive to doxorubicin.The apoptosis rate of cotransfected cells was significantly increased.Conclusions PED/PEA-15 and XIAP might be involved in the development of prostate cancer.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of telephone visit for discharged postpartum women.Methods Two hundred and twenty postpartum women in Hefei city were randomly selected and divided into two groups.The parturient in the control received routine guidance.In addition to the routine guidance,parturient in the experimental group received telephone visits every week for 4 weeks.The effects were evaluated in the sixth week after discharge.Results Knowledge understanding for the two groups also showed significant difference (89.3％ and 58.4％ for the experimental group and control group respectively; x2 =29.21,P＜0.01 ).Health care and quality of life were improved for the parturient in the experimental group than those in the control group ( P ＜ 0.01 ).Conclusions Telephone visit help the parturient master knowledge and skill for caring and improve their quality of life.

Objective To study the relationship between the level of serum thrombomodulin (TM ) ,radiation dose-volume factors with acute radiation pneumonitis (ARP) .Methods 54 patients with lung cancer were given the routine 3 -dimensional conformal radiation therapy(3DCRT) and chemotherpy ,20 cases received the concurrent radiochemotherapy and 34 cases were performed the the sequential chemotherapy .The serum TM level was measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) before radio-therapy(B-RT) and at 30 Gy(M-RT) in radiotherapy .The ARP grade was evaluated according to the criteria of the Common Ter-minology Criteria for Adverse Events(CTCAE v3 .0) by the National Caner Institute(NCI) ,grade 2 or more was taken as ARP . The relationship between the serum TM level ,dose-volume factors with ARP was analyzed .Results 20 cases (37% ) had ARP .12 cases got grade 2 ARP and 8 cases had grade 3 .The occurrence rates of ARP in the minimal lethal dose (MLD) Gy <10 and >10 groups ,V5 < 50% and ≥ 50% groups ,V10 < 40% and ≥ 40% groups ,V20 < 25% and ≥ 25% groups ,V30 < 13% and ≥ 13%groups ,TM decrease group and TM increase group after 30 Gy radiation were 8% vs .62% ,7% vs .69% ,21% vs .75% ,28% vs . 56% ,15% vs .57% and 50% vs .13% respectively ,the differences had statistical significance (χ2 = 16 .83 ,22 .29 ,14 .05 ,3 .97 , 10 .08 ,6 .46 ,P<0 .05);in the ARP group and non-ARP group ,MLD ,V5 ,V10 ,V20 and V30 were (12 ± 2) vs .(9 ± 2) ,(58 ± 10) vs .(43 ± 10) ,(42 ± 8) vs .(30 ± 8) ,(23 ± 3) vs .(19 ± 6) ,(15 ± 4) vs .(11 ± 4) respectively ,the differences had statistical signifi-cance (t= -4 .96 ,-5 .27 ,-5 .70 ,-3 .37 ,-3 .61 ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion Multiple dose-volume parameters are associated with the occurrence rate of ARP .The patients with decreased serum TM level after radiotherapy are liable to develop ARP .

OBJECTIVETo study the impacts of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) intervention on hemorheology and blood coagulation before and after free skin flap transplantation, in order to provide new clues of applying Chinese drugs for activating blood circulation and removing stasis in microsurgery.

METHODSSixty patients undergoing free skin flap transplantation were randomly and equally assigned to two groups, the treatment group administered with tetramethylpyrazine, the control group with low molecular dextran, both were treated for 7 days. The survival rate of transplanted flap, hemorrheologic parameters and four blood coagulation associated indices (prothrombin time, thrombin time, activated prothrombin time and fibrinogen) were detected before and after treatment.

RESULTSComparisons of clinical efficacy and hemorrheologic indices showed no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05), but TMP showed less impacts on the four blood coagulation associated indices at the 24, 48 and 72 h after operation (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONTMP could prevent blood vessel crisis after free skin flap transplantation, so it is valuable in microsurgical clinical application.

Objective To assess mucin gene expression in Barrett's esophagus.Methods Mucin core protein-MUC1,MUC2,MUC3,MUCSAC and MUC6 were detected by immunohistochemistry.The re- lationship between mucin expression and magnification-endoscopic characteristics,pathohistologic epithelial types of Barrett's esophagus was analyzed.Results Mild expression of MUC1 was predominantly found in the superficial epithelium of both gastric and specialised intestinal metaplasia.In a small number of specimens, mild expression of MUC1 was also noted in glands.Strong MUC2 expression was noted only in the goblet cells in Barrett's oesophagus.MUC3 was expressed in the superficial columnar cells of specialized intestinal metaplasia with or without globlet cells but not in gastric metaplasia of the oesophagus.In some specimens MUC3 was expressed in the vacuolus of the globlet cells and the lumen of gland.Strong staining of MUCSAC was noted in the columnar epithelium of both gastric metaplasia and specialized intestinal metaplasia in Barrett's oesophagus,as well as expressed in the cytoplasm and vacuolus of the globlet cells in some speci- mens.Expression of MUC6 protein was detected at the basement of the crypts in gastric metaplasia and spe- cialised Barrett's glands.Expression of MUC2 and MUC3 protein was found much higher in villous or irregu- lar pit pattern than that in dot or rod pit pattern(P

Objective To investigate the clinical features of pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP)in patients with autoimmune diseases.Methods The data from 12 patients with autoimmune diseases who were hospitalized in Peking Union Medical College Hospital because of developing PCP were retrospectively reviewed.Clinical characteristics and T cell subsets in the peripheral blood were analyzed.Results The main clinical manifestations of these 12 patients were fever(12/12),cough(9/ 12),expectoration(9/12)and obvious dyspnea(12/12),which were progressive.Blood gas analysis presented with typeⅠrespiratory failure.Bilateral interstitial and alveolar infiltrates were observed in chest X-ray film.The counts of peripheral blood lymphocytes(0.44?0.31)?10~9/L,CD4~+ T-lymphocytes (0.120?0.079)?10~9/L and CD8~+ T-lymphocytes were(0.248?0.252)?10~9/L decreased significantly and the CD4/CD8 ratio reversed,which were significantly different from those of healthy person(P
