A total of 40 adult black-mice was used and divided into two groups for expeiment. Group A was irradiated by UVB only and Group B had SPF 15 sunscreen a.pplied to the back followed by irradiation by UVB. Each group was divided again into 5 subgroups according to the days of UVB irradiation frcm 2 to 10 days. A Waldmann combination UVA+UVB Radiation Treatment Cabin 8001 was used as the light source and the UVB dosage was 50 mJ/cm2 daily. Skin specimens were taken 24 hours after the last irradiation. Histologic changes in epidermis were reviewed by the light microscope. In group A, the characteristic sunburn cells(SBC) were observed with 100 mJ/ cm2. SBC number was maximum with 400 mJ/cm2. The other epidermal changes were parakerat.osis, crusts, atypical cells, and mitoses of basal cells, which showed graded responses to the UVB doses. Pretreatment with the sunscreen completely prevented these changes.

The case of a 56-year-old woman with a keratoacarithoma(KA) of the labial mucosa is herein reported, The tumor was excised and the pathological features were characteristic of a KA, This case is reported because the oral mucosa is such an unexpected location for solitary KA and the labial mucosa of this patient received chronic actinic damage, which suggested an etiological relationship. Follow-up examination of the patient after four months showed no recurrence.

Generalized pustular psoriasis is a severe form of paoriasis and is frequently associated with arthritis and nail deformity. We present a case of generalized pustular psoriasis in a 40 year-old man, with nail change, arthritis of both knee and ankle joints, spondylitis, and glomerulonephritis. We found a positive results of HLA A-9, B-27 in this patient. Skin lesions, arthralgia and hematuria improved marked1y by plasmapheresis and application of topical corticostertoid.

Authors carried out the experimental study to investigate whether the Paragonimus westermani would uptake the blood in the parasitic definitive host, and also tried for the amount and distribution of the blood which would be harbored in a worm body, and so on. Experimental animals used in this study were dogs and cats, and they were infected with metacercariae of P. westermani. Several months later of the infection, Cr(51) tagged red blood cells were administered to each animal, and the animals were sacrificed and autopsy was done after 24 or 48 hrs of the administration. One part of the detected P. westermani adult worms of each animal were bred in Tyrode's solution and the others were killed by fixing in formalin solution. By Well-type scintillation counter, the radioactivities were measured for the alive and killed worms and of the blood of each experimental animal which was collected at autopsy . In conclusion, it was found that P. westermani worms uptake blood in parasitic definitive host, and amount of the blood harboring in a worm of 56 infection-days(size of worm; 4 x 3 x 1 mm) was 0.002 ml, 0.004 or 0.005 ml in 103 infection-days(size of worm: 8 x 5 x 3 mm) and 0.011 ml in 217 infection-days(size of worm: 9 x 7 x 4 mm). Almost of the whole blood uptaked in the worms was distributed in intestine. It was observed that the blood uptaked in the worm body was excreted continuously through the excretory pore, so that the radioactivity could not measured almost completely in cases of 24 hrs-breeding worms.

Various epidermal changes overlying a dermatofibroma can be induced through the proliferation of pluripotential epidermal cells by the stimulation of mesenchymal factors. The authors report a case of dermatofibroma in a 55-year-old male who had a reddish brown, asymptomatic nodule of 5 years duration on his left forearm. The biopsy specimen revealed a dermatofibroma of cellular type associated with epidermal changes: (1) acanthosis; (2) elongation of rete ridges; (3) thin interlacing epidermal strands with increased pigmentation resembling seborrheic keratosis or fibroepithelioma; (4) immature hair follicles and sebaceous lobules; (5) hair germ like buddings; (6) superficial basal cell epithelioma-like proliferations.

We experienced three cases of non-giant congenital nevus. They showed zosteriform or heart-shaped grouping of pigmented papules which were pierced by hairs. Histopathologic examination disclosed nevus cell infiltration in and around hair follicles and in the upper two thirds of reticular dermis. We would like to report these cases as follicle-centered spotted grouped pigmented nevi.

We present herein a case of sebaceous hyperplasia in a 55-year-old male, who showed multiple asymptomatic yellowish papules on the forehead and the cheeks. Histopathologic examination of a papule revealed numerous sebaceous lobules grouped around several enlarged sebaceous ducts. Three weeks of oral administration. of isotretinoin 40 mg per day brought marked improvement.

We report herein a case of eosinophilic pustular follicultis in a 20-year-old man. The patient showed typical clinical picture with specific laboratory and histopathological findings of eosinophilic pustular folliculitis. The patient responded well to systemic administration of corticosteroid and dapsone.

Ultrastructural study was taken in a 48 year old male farmer with colloid milium. Electrcn microscopically, colloid was mainly composed of protofilaments, amorphous substance and degenerating collagens surrounded by halos. Colloidal filaments were curved and branched at their ends. Fibroblasts near the colloid island contained amorphous materials and protofilaments idnitical to that of colloid materials, Thus we suggest that. colloid milium may be produced by the abnormal fibroblasts or may be derived from actiinically damaged collagen fibers.

Authors carried out experimental study on chemotherapy with oral administration of Dithiazanine iodide (D.I.) and Bithionol sulfoxide(B.S.) in rabbit clonorchiasis. And the following result was obtained. In change of the E.P.G (eggs per gram feces) by D.I. administration, it was rather increased in early stage of the administration than prior to administration, and thereafter decreased gradually. In the change of the C.S. worm body by D.I. administration, there was not only prominent change of supporting tissue but also the change of reproductive organ was found. In considering the wormicidal effect of D.I. from detecting rate of survival worms, the effect was slight in group of 100 mg(80 mg/kg) per day dosage, but the effects were very excellent and almost complete by proper times of administration in groups of 200 mg (130 mg/kg) per day or higher dosage. But the side effect and intoxication sign of D.I. were appearent in groups of 200 mg or higher dosage. By B.S. administration, E.P.G. was decreased gradually. In changes of the C.S. worm body by B.S. administration, prominent inhibitory chnnge was seen in egg formation ability. Slight wormicidal effect of B.S. was observed in groups of 140 mg (100 mg/kg) per day or higher dosage. Side effect and intoxication sign of B.S. were found little in groups of 140 mg or lesser dosage.
