OBJECTIVETo search for an optimum method for testicular prothesis implantation in the treatment of testis loss.
METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed the surgical methods and outcomes of 53 cases of terminal prostate cancer and 4 cases of unilateral testicular torsion treated by implantation of testicular prothesis with the polypropylene mesh.
RESULTSThe 57 male patients all received testicular prothesis with the polypropylene mesh. All the patients were satisfied with the appearance and size of the scrotum after surgery. No scrotal hematoma, prosthesis infection, or autoimmune disease occurred postoperatively.
CONCLUSIONTestis loss is not a rare condition clinically, for the treatment of which surgical implantation of testicular prothesis with the polypropylene mesh can achieve both a fine tissue compatibility and a desirable scrotal appearance.

7.Phage Display Technology and Its Applications for Tumor Research

China Biotechnology 2006;0(09):-
Phage display technology has been developed as a powerful tool for selecting polypeptides or proteins with desired biological and physicochemical properties from huge random peptide libraries.Fragments of foreign peptides or proteins that are expressed as fused proteins displayed on the phage surface can keep their relatively independent spatial structure and biological activity,so that they can interact with their ligands to mimic selection of specific molecular epitopes, thus providing an efficient high-throughput screening system.Phage display has been used to allow rapid identification of peptide ligands for a variety of target molecules by an in vitro selection process called "panning".Phage display techniques can be widely exploited to construct tumor-associated antibody libraries, select polypeptides tumor-associated antigen, investigate antigen epitope and design vaccines and medicine, and are used especially as a tool for the diagnosis and treatment of tumor, gene therapy and tumor cell signal transduction research.Recent applications and advanced developments of phage display in cancer research are discussed in this article for the further reference to investigators.

Microbiology 2008;0(09):-
PCR-SSCP(single-strand conformation polymorphism) was used for studying the community changes of pronucleus microorganisms in various fermenting stages of Luzhou-flavor Daqu. The results showed:(1) The pronucleus microorganism's community was similar and also had the polymorphism in each simple of various fermentation stage;(2) Different microflora had complex ecology effects of coordination and the restriction;(3) The diversity indexes of different stage of Daqu microorganisms were around 1.69~2.01,and the composition of them was stable relatively;(4) The similarity indexes were 0.67~1.00,and much higher in the approaching stages.

Objective To understand the status of drinking-water supply and the progress of waterimproving projects in drinking-water-borne endemic fluorosis areas in Henan, and to provide scientific data for related government departments to carry out prevention and surveillance plan for those areas. Methods Questionnaire survey was carried out in all the villages in drinking-water-borne endemic fluorosis areas in Henan in 2010.Each village was given one set of questionnaire. Results By the end of 2010,the total number of fluorosis villages in Henan was 25 434,among them 11 484 villages had been conducted water-improving projects, accounting for 45.15%.Currently,9267 water-improving projects worked properly, accounting for 36.4%(9267/25 434)of all villages surveyed, and 80.7% (9267/11 484)villages had water-improving projects. The projects in 2217 villages do not work properly, accounting for 19.3%(2217/11 484) of all projects. There were 5832 water-imp.roving projects conducted amnog 2005-2010,accounting for 50.8% (5832/11 484) of all water-improving projects.Among villages with no such projects,97.5%(15 769/16 167) of them used shallow groundwater, and in villages with water-improving projects,89.6% (8303/9267) of them used deep groundwater as drinking-water supply. Conclusions After 2005,the water improving progress was significantly speed up in drinking-water-borne endemic fluorosis areas in Henan, but progress of the water improving projects is relatively slow due to changing and expanding of fluorosis areas. The government should increase investment and improve the proportion of waterimproving defluoridation.
10.Thought of treating erectile dysfunction by integrative medicine.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2013;33(4):541-543
Erectile dysfunction (ED) was explored to improve the clinical efficacy in terms of disease identification and syndrome typing, macroscopic and microscopic combination, complementary therapy of Chinese medicine (CM) and Western medicine (WM), and evidence-based medicine (EBM) research methods. And the advantages and disadvantages of CM and WM in treatment of ED were briefly analyzed. How to treat ED by integrative medicine was also addressed
