2.An Assessment on the Human Body Composition of Females with Magnetic Resonance Image.

Korean Journal of Physical Anthropology 1994;7(1):25-32
We have tried this experiments about measure of Human Body Fat from transverse body scans with Magnetic Resonance Image (0.5, Tesla). Images were created with a spin echo sequence using a repetition time 500msec, echo time 20msec, and 1cm length between 10mm cross sectional slices, and gained through a whole body. In vivo quantification of body fat with MRI was measured by two healthy Females Volunteers, each cut obtained with MRI was analyzed, traced papers on the view finder, and then digitized, at last calculated for the areas of Human Body Fat. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : Through the analyses of the Ratio of Human Body % Fat with MRI and Densitiometry, in Sub.1, Sub.2, MRI is estimated higher than Densitiometry, that is, Keys & Brozek's Method (1960) has the most remarkable score gaps, 6.94% (Sub.1), 6.21%(Sub.2). Chinn & Alleys Method (1960) has showed the score getting closest to MRI, 1.67% (Sub.1), 1.36%(Sub.2). And Siri's (1956) Brozek et al's (1963), which have been used as the most popular methods, make the difference of 4% approximately. As a result of this study, such as preceding studies about it Ratio of Human Body Composition with MRI has considered to be validated and trusted. Therefore, if we estimate for Ratio of Human Body Fat with much more subjects than this experiments we can suggest that the method with MRI is possible to develope low data adaptable in every field.

3.Relationship between Critical Thinking Disposition, Clinical Decision Making and Job Satisfaction of Cancer Center Nurses.
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2011;17(4):443-450
PURPOSE: This study was a descriptive correlation study to increase understanding of, and relationships among critical thinking disposition, clinical decision making and job satisfaction of cancer center nurses. METHOD: The participants in this study were 150 nurses working in one cancer center located in Gyeonggi Province. The statistic program, SPSS WIN17.0 was used for data analysis and data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. RESULTS: The critical thinking disposition of the participants showed statistically significant differences according to areas of practice (F=4.426, p=.005), and current position (F=9.346, p=.000). For clinical decision making of the participants, statistically significant differences were found according to current position (F=10.667, p=.000). Furthermore, for job satisfaction, there were statistically significant differences according to income (F=6.779, p=.002), length of career (F=2.701, p=.033) and current position (F=5.423, p=.005). There were significant positive correlations for critical thinking disposition with clinical decision making, and with job satisfaction. CONCLUSION: The results of the study indicate that to improve clinical decision making and job satisfaction of cancer center nurses, it is necessary to increase critical thinking disposition. To make this change, appropriate programs are needed to increase critical thinking and clinical decision making of general cancer center nurses.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 2000;41(7):1592-1596
This study was designed to validate the usefulness of the near point of convergence(NPC)test in determination of dominant & non-domnant eyes in intermittent exotropia patients. We performed NPC test in 36 intermittent exotrpic patients, and then, determined the non-dominant eye which deviated outward beyond the NPC. The dominant eyes determined by the NPC were compared to those that were determined by amblyopia, sensory fusion and photophobia. Best corrected visual acuity was used to divide patients into two groups : 26 patients without amblyopia, and 10 with amblyopia. Among the amblyopia group, if the eyes with better visual acuity were taken as dominant eyes, then eight(80%)cases were identical with the NPC test and two(20%)cases were different. Ten patients had sensory anomaly, and among then, nine(90%)cases were identical with the NPC test and one(10%)case was different. Twenty six(64%)patients had photophobia in one eye and all(100%)cases were identical with the NPC test. In intermittent exotropia, determination of dominant eye by the NPC test showed high coincidence with other tests. Therefore, we suggest that the NPC test is an easy and accurate method in determining either the dominant or non-dominant eye for surgery.

BACKGROUND: The relationship and differentiation among various dendritic cells of the dermis are unclear. Recently it has hecome possible to identify different subpopulat, ions of dermal dendritic cells using anti-CD34 and anti-factor XIIIa antibodies. OBJECTIVE: To elucidate which cell types the fibrous dermal turnors consist of we compared the staining patterns of these antibodies as well as of anti-Mac 387 antibody which are labeled as inflammatory cells of the monocyte-macrophage lineage. METHODS: Tumors studied included dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans(DFSP, n=2), dermato-fibroma(n=22), neurofibroma, n=27), acrochordon(n=15), keloid, hypertrophic scar(n=10), juvenile xanthogranuloma(n=1, and malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH, n=1). We performed immunoperoxidase staining(AUSC technique) with polyclonal anti FXIIIa antibody, monoclonal anti-CD34 antibody, and monoclonal anti-Mac 387 antibody on the formalin-fixed-paraffin-embedded tissue specimens of these fibrous tumors. The intensity of staining was graded as negative, weakly staining, or strongly stainiring. RESULTS: FXIIIa reactivity was strongly present in dendritic and spindle-shaped cells of all dermatofibromas and some nurofibromas(11 of 27 specimens), but absent from the other fibrous tumors. Among these tumors, one of the two DFSPs was uniquely expressed CD34. Dendritic and spindle-shaped cells within tiese tumors were MAC 387 negative. In inflammatory conditions, variable numbers of MAC 38 positive cells were observed, corresponding to histiocytes and mac-rophages, but the labeling of ipithelioid cells and multinucleated foreign body giant cells were variable. CONCLUSION: The findings of significant numbers of FXIIIa positive cells in dermal fibrous tumors studied suggest that thet may be diagnostic utility associated with the use of this antit)ody. In addition, CD 34 expression by the tumor cells can be an extremely useful marker in establishing a definitive diagnosis of IFSP.

8.Unilateral Parieto-Occipital Lobe Infarction Presenting with Optic Ataxia and Saccadic Abnormalties: A Case Report .
Sung Chul JUNG ; Chang Min LEE
Journal of the Korean Balance Society 2006;5(2):320-324
Optic ataxia is characterized by an impaired visual control of the direction of arm reaching to a visual target, accompanied by defective hand orientation and grip formation. In humans, optic ataxia is associated with lesions of the superior parietal lobule, which also affect visually guided saccades and other forms of eye-hand coordination. A 67-year-old woman presented with sudden, unilateral, direct optic ataxia in the right homonymous half field and saccadic abnormalities which consisted of prolonged latency, undershoot dysmetria, and decreased velocity. Brain MRI showed a left parieto-occipital watershed infarction. It is suggested that lesions of the superior parietal lobule and the adjacent parietal eye field are responsible for optic ataxia and saccadic abnormalities, respectively.
