1.Significance and application of analogizing Chinese medicines with natural phenomenon
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(04):-
The analogizing Chinese medicines with natural phenomenon are theoretical way to investigate the actions and mechanism of Chinese medicine. The characteristics are combining the basic function, application of medicines with the smell thickness, quality, colors, collection period, medicinal parts of medicines and raw or prepared material to produce the principles of different things relating its kind, liking attracts like and isomorph following each other, which are often used to clinical medication. This theory enriched the Chinese medicine Pharmacology, discovered a rule of clinical medication, which promoted the clinical pharmacology from the experience to the theory and developed traditional Chinese pharmacology. But the thought methods are limited inevitably because they are obvious intuitive and uncertain in concept, therefore the theory should be advanced with "discarding the dross and selecting the essential".

Objective To observe the effect of hyperthyroidism decoction on thyroid hormone and thyroid pathological changes of ex-perimental hyperthyroid rats. Methods 40 rats were randomly divided into four groups: Normal group, hyperthyreosis model group, western drugs control group and hyperthyroidism decoction group. The model rats were constructed by drenching Youjiale. Hyperthyroidism decoction group were given hyperthyroidism decoction of respective dosage, western drugs control group were given propylthiouracil. The serum contents of T3, T4, FT3, FT4 and TSH were determined by radio-immunity method, the thyroid pathological changes effected by hyperthyroidism de-coction were observed. Results Compared with model group, the contents of serum T3, T4, FT3, FT4, of hyperthyroidism decoction group were decreased, while the contents of serum TSH were increased. Hyperthyroidism decoction may improve thyroid pathological changes of ex-perimental hyperthyroid rats. Conclusion Hyperthyroidism decoction can effectively improve the thyroid function of experimental hyperthy-roid rats.

The changes of intracoronary electrocardiogram (IC-ECG) and surface electro-cardiogram (S-ECG) were recorded simultaneously during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA) in 33 cases of coronary heart diseases with 41 vessel lesions. The results sug-gested that ST-segment change rate on IC-ECG(90. 2%) was higher than that on S-ECG(56%). ST-segment elevation on IC-ECG was earlier and more significant than that on S-ECG. The IC-ECG appeared to be more sensitive than S-ECG for detecting myocardial ischemia. The technique for recording IC-ECG is simple and it can help to perfome the PTCA successfully.
