Objective To study the relation between thyroid nodule and urine iodine and to provide a scientific basis for etiological research of thyroid nodule. Methods 178 cases of thyroid nodule were detected urine iodine concentration (μg/L) by As ( Ⅱ ) 2Ce4 + catalytic spectrophotometry.160 normal people were set as control group.Data of the 2 groups and the correlative clinical information were analyzed. Results The median urine iodine concentration was 116.2 μg/L for the 178 cases of thyroid nodule,217.2 μg/L for the control group.Among the 178 cases, the median urine iodine concentration was 125.6 μg/L for the 92 cases with nodule size > 10 mm and 136.4 μg/L for the 86 cases with nodule size < 10 mm.The difference of urine iodine had no statistical significance between the thyroid nodule group and the control group. There was no correlation between urine iodine and the size of thyroid nodule as well as sex. Conclusions No correlation is found between urine iodine and thyroid nodule.Patients with thyroid nodule,no matter male or female, don't have to restrict iodine intake excessively.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of galactomannan(GM) detection for invasive aspergillosis infections in pediatric patients, a Meta-analysis was performed. Methods According to selection criteria, studies indexed by PubMed,EMBASE,Medline,CNKI and Wanfang Data on GM testing in pediatric aspergillosis were included from January 2001 to November 2012. The methodological quality was assessed by QUADAS, sources of heterogeneity investigated, pooled effect quantities evaluated, and summary receiver operative curves(ROC) and subgroup analysis performed.Stata12.0 was used to analyze diagnostic parameters, such as, sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio and area under the curve(AUC). Results Thirteen articles with 16 sets of data were included. The weighted sensitivity and specificity with 95% confidence interval were 0.71(0.60-0.79)and 0.94(0.89-0.96), respectively.Under different cut-off values, sensitivities of GM assay in diagnosis of pediatric aspergillosis were 0.71(0.54-0.84) for 0.5, 0.77(0.64-0.87) for 0.8, 0.72(0.58-0.84) for 1.0 and 0.59(0.39-0.76) for 1.5, and its responding specificities were 0.94(0.89-0.97), 0.89(0.82-0.93), 0.89(0.81-0.94) and 0.91(0.88-0.94).Conclusion Under the cut-off value of 0.8, the GM assay is a useful method in the detection of pediatric invasive aspergillosis.

Objective:
To investigate the spatial relationship between intraparotid facial nerve and parotid ducts in different types of parotid neoplasms with 3D improved motion-sensitized driven-equilibrium pulse (3D-iMSDE) MR neurography, and to guide the operation plan.
Methods:
By means of prospective research methods, the sequences of 3D-iMSDE and 3D-T2-fast field echo (3D-T2-FFE) were obtained in 30 healthy volunteers and 40 patients with parotid gland tumors, respectively. All patients with parotid mass were found by physical examination, by maxillofacial surgeons or by ultrasonography or other imaging examinations. Facial nerve trunk with its first branches and parotid ducts were evaluated independently on images of iMSDE and T2-FFE sequence for volunteers. The signal intensity ratio (SIR) of both facial nerve and parotid ducts were compared respectively in two sequences The relationship between intraparotid facial nerve and parotid ducts with the lesion were analyzed on images of iMSDE and T2-FFE sequences for 40 patients. The results were compared with intra-operative anatomy and post-operative pathological findings.Wilcoxon symbolic rank test,
