BACKGROUND:The main treatment of lumbar isthmic spondylolisthesis is the surgery, in a broader attempt to decompression, reduction, fixation and fusion of the lesioned segments. The golden standard of the treatment is biological fusion, while internal fixation is a reliable assistance for fusion therapy.
OBJECTIVE:To discuss the clinical value and curative effect of intervertebral fusion cage combined with pedicle screw systems for the treatment of lumbar isthmic spondylolisthesis.
METHODS:From March 2010 to March 2013, 21 cases of isthmic spondylolisthesis were treated with intervertebral fusion cage combined with pedicle screw systems, including 18 cases of spondylolisthesis of degree II and 3 cases of spondylolisthesis of degree III. Al patients were fol owed up regularly, taking JOA lumbago score and visual analog scale score as the objective evaluation criteria of pain in postoperative fol ow-ups. The curative effect was assessed by Macrab standard, and the functional recovery was evaluated based on indicators such as Prolo, and the spinal fusion rate was assessed according to Lenke criteria. Changes of slippage rate, slippage angle, sacral inclination angle and intervertebral space post height in preoperative and postoperative periods were evaluated by iconography data.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al the 21 patients with isthmic spondylolisthesis were fol owed up for 12-16 months. JOA lumbago score and vasual analog scale score of al patients were improved after treatment, and the difference was statistical y significant compared with before treatment (P=0.000). According to Macrab evaluation criteria, there were 17 excellent cases and 4 good cases. Each indicator evaluated by preoperative Prolo activities and symptom grading showed significant differences in preoperative and postoperative periods (P=0.003). Postoperative lumbar spondylolisthesis was basical y reset, the slippage angle was significantly reduced, the sacral inclination angle was increased, and the height of the intervertebral space was recovered basical y. Intervertebral fusion cage combined with pedicle screw systems was one of the effective strategies to treat lumbar isthmic spondylolisthesis.

Objective To establish guinea pig model of type Ⅰ anaphylaxis, isolate the anaphy-lactic antibody(IgE and IgG) preliminarily from sera of sensitized guinea pigs, and investigate its functional characteristics. Methods Animal model was established by sensitizing guinea pigs with OVA and Al(OH)_3, level of antibody was determined by ELISA, IgE and IgG in sera were preliminarily isolated through saturated ammonium sulphate precipitate and affinity chromatograph of Protein A. A continuous passive cutaneous ana-phylaxis test (PCA) was performed by sensitizing guinea pigs individually with IgE and IgG and then challenging at different time , and the variation of blue spots in skin were observed after challenge . Results Concentration of IgE in model group and control group were 719.3750 ng/ml and 2.5250 ng/ml, the optical density of IgG in model group and control group were 0.9921 and 0.0174, the level of two antibodies in model group were significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). In 9 d continuous PCA test, the blue spot induced by IgE in skin lasted for 9 days and appeared the largest when challenged at day 5. The diameter of blue spot induced by IgG was the largest when challenged at day 2 and then decreased fast. Con-clusion Anaphylactic antibodies were successfully preliminarily isolated from sera of sensitizing guinea pig, both IgE and IgG play roles in type Ⅰ anaphylaxis of guinea pig, the hypersensitive reaction induced by IgG is fast and short than that induced by IgE, and IgG may become an important surrogate marker in immunotoxic-ity evaluation(type Ⅰ anaphylaxis)of vaccine.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the displacement, the position of rotation center and the stress distribution of PDL under different loading force system (Moment/Force, M/F) by simulating clinical loading force system.
METHODSA three-dimensional finite element model of upper central incisor, which consists of 945 isoparametric elements and 1,245 nodes was developed. The displacement, the position of the rotation center and the stress distribution of PDL were analyzed under 13 types of loading force system.
RESULTS1. Different force system led to different types of tooth movement. When M/F= -9.15:1, -10.30 - -10.50:1 and -10.90:1, it brought the result of controlled tipping movement, the bodily movement and the root movement; 2. The graph of the center rotation was a hyperbolic asymptotic line: Mx/Fy = -10.50 (horizontal axis) and L = 6.75 (vertical axis). Moreover, a little change of M/F between -9.15 and -10.90 led to apparent change of the position of rotation center. 3. The maximum strain and stress during the tipping movement were 1.47 x 10(-2) MPa and -2.81 x 10(-2) MPa, and during the bodily movement the results were 1.10 x 10(-2) MPa and -1.86 x 10(-2) MPa, while during the root movement were 0.96 x 10(-2) MPa and -2.58 x 10(-2) MPa.
CONCLUSION1 . Different force system (M/F) leads to different types of tooth movement. 2. It is necessary to adjust the force system accurately to obtain prescient tooth movement, especially when M/F changes between -9.15:1 and -10.90:1. 3. This study suggested that the tooth movement style and the force system (M/F) should be controlled to protect the periodontal tissue.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effects of specific peptide (AWYPLPP peptide) binding to high metastatic potential human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells on the invasion and metastasis of liver cancer.
METHODSThe effects of AWYPLPP peptide on the invasion, migration, proliferation and adhesion of high metastatic potential human HCC cell line (HCCLM3) were evaluated in vitro by Matrigel invasion assay, migration assay, MTT assay and adhesion assay. The effect of AWYPLPP peptide on lung metastasis of HCC in vivo was evaluated in male nude mice with subcutaneously implanted HCCLM3 cells.
RESULTSIncubation with the AWYPLPP peptide, but not the control peptide, resulted in a concentration-dependent increase of invasion ability in HCCLM3 cells at the concentration of 0.1 to 100 micromol/L. At any concentration used for the invasion assay, the peptide had no effect on cell migration, proliferation and adhesion. After 30 days of transplantation, eight of nine (88.9%) mice in the AWYPLPP peptide group showed obvious lung metastasis. The metastatic rate of lung metastasis was significantly increased in the AWYPLPP peptide group compared with that in the control group. There was no significant difference among the weights of primary tumor in the PBS, control peptide and AWYPLPP peptide groups.
CONCLUSIONAWYPLPP peptide can promote in vitro invasion and in vivo lung metastasis of high metastatic potential human HCC cells. Identification of the receptor for AWYPLPP peptide binding may provide new insights into the molecular mechanism underlying HCC invasion and metastasis as well as new targets for intervention.

OBJECTIVETo study the temporal trend and spatial distribution of premature mortality burden due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in terms of years of life lost (YLL) in an urban region of Kunming for the years 1998-2003.
METHODSPan Long district was selected as the study region. YLL was used to measure premature mortality burden due to COPD. The tate of YLL per 1000 residents was calculated without age-weighting but with 3% discounting rate and broken down by year. Geographic information system (GIS) technique was used to display the spatial distribution of premature mortality burden due to COPD during the six years of study.
RESULTSDuring the years from 1998 to 2003, the premature mortality burden due to COPD decreased by years while males seemed to have a higher YLL rate of COPD than females. Central areas remained to have higher YLL/1000 population values of COPD for the six years, whereas remote areas tended to have a decreasing trend of YLL/1000 population values of COPD in the same period.
CONCLUSIONCentral areas of the city should be emphasized in further control of COPD in the urban region of Kunming.
