Protein Z (PZ) is a vitamin K-dependent protein. As a cofactor for the protein Z-dependent protease inhibitor (ZPI), it inhibits coagulation factor X under the existence of phospholipid and calcium ion, and increases the ZPI activity by nearly 1000-fold, thus it plays a role in the process of thrombosis. ZPI inhibits coagulation factor Ⅺ a alone. ZPI activity is also consumed in the process of inhabiting factor Ⅹa and Ⅺa. This article reviews the biological characteristics of PZ and ZPI and their association with stroke.

Objective: To explore the effect of selenium-protein polysaccharide extracted from Qinba (selenium-mushroom)(秦巴硒菇) on apoptosis of K562 cells.Methods: Tumor-bearing mice model was established,and selenium-protein polysaccharide extracted from Qinba selenium-mushroom contained-herb serum was prepared by the method of serum pharmacology.K562 cells were conventionally cultured.Growth inhibition rate of tumor cells was detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT) method.Morphological changes of apoptotic cell were observed under a fluorescent microscope.Cell apoptosis was observed by DNA electrophoresis.Caspase3 relative gene was measured by colorimetry.Results: Selenium-protein(polysaccharide) extracted from Qinba selenium-mushroom could significantly inhibit the growth of K562 cells,there was a remarkably positive correlation between drug concentration,time and inhibitory rate.Apoptotic phenomenon was certained via morphological examination and DNA electrophoresis.Compared with control group,caspase3 gene was markedly upregulated.Conclusion: Selenium-protein(polysaccharide) extracted from Qinba selenium-mushroom could induce apoptosis of K562 cells.The mechanism may be related to upregulation of caspase3.

METHODS: By sorting, analyzing and summarizing domestic and foreign literatures, the characteristics, in vivo and in vitro properties and the applications in pharmacy of novel nanoparticles carriers such as nano cochleates, virus-like particles, hydrogel nanoparticles, gold nanoshells, carbon nanomaterials, quantum dots and dendrimers were reviewed and elaborated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Nanoparticles possess special physical and chemical properties which could improve the stability and bioavailability of drugs and have a targeting and sustained release effect.

Parpose:To observe the therapeutic effects of the ricin's intervention in treating the hepatic carcinoma and to compare the restraint effect to bone manrrow caused by ricin and mitomicin C.Materials and Methods:Use human grafted hepatic carcinoma to naked rat as transplanted rat's liver cancer model.The therapeutic effects of ricin(4?g/kg)were compared with that of lipiodel-emusified riein(8?g/kg)and mitomicin C(500ug/kg)(all the dosages were of the one third of the LD50),with saline injected liver cancers as the control.To observe the tumour's growth inhibition rate,-FP hemogram and marrow change.Results:The growth of turners in group of ricin,lipiodel-emulified ricin,mitomicin C was inhibited,result in tumour necrosis.The inhibition in marrow showed more obvious in mitomicin C than in ricin.The- FP's reduction was significant in comparision with that of the control group,however,there were no remarkable difference among the three drug forms.Conclusion:Ricin has remarkable therapeutic effect on hepatic carcinoma.Ricin's emulsion was stable providing experimentd basis for the toxicity to marrow is clearly lower than mitomicim C

OBJECTIVE To compare the changing trends of antibiograms of Salmonella typhi and S.paratyphi A isolates.METHODS A total of 42 isolates of Salmonella obtained from blood cultures patients in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chinese Medical University between 2001-2004 were included in the study.K-B test was used for the antimicrobial susceptivity test and the results were read based on National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards(NCCLS) of USA.RESULTS Twenty two isolates were identified as S.typhi and 20 were identified as S.paratyphi A.Sensitivity of S.typhi isolates to cephalosporins and chloramphenicol was found to have increased from 2001 to 2004 while that of S.paratyphi A showed a decline,meanwhile there was obviously increasing in resistance to ciprofloxacin.CONCLUSIONS Perhaps the schedule of empirical treatment of typhoid fever needs to be adjusted.

Pyk2(Proline-rich tyrosine kinase 2) is an important member of focal adhesion kinase family. Pyk2 is highly ex-pressed in the central nervous system and the hematopoietic sys-tem . Pyk 2 can trigger a variety of SH 2 domain-containing pro-
teins to phosphorylate their substrates, thus it can participate in the regulations including ion channel activation, stress response, cell adhesion, cytoskeleton reorganization, vesicle transport and so on. Through the regulations above, the ability of cell migra-tion, survival, proliferation changes accordingly, suggesting that Pyk2 in many important regulatory processes may become a tar-get for clinical effects. Current drug development for Pyk2 main-
ly focuses on cancer, osteoporosis and immune response. This review illustrates the domain structure, regulatory mechanisms, potential drug targets, and the drug development of Pyk2 based on the above three fields, which will provide a theoretical basis for clinical treatment.

Objective To compare the surgical outcome of Lichtenstein,open preperitoneal technique and double-laver mesh technique in tension free repair of incarcerated inguinal hernia.Methods Totally 438 cases of indirect inguinal hernia in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed from January 2008 to January 2012,io which 154 patients received Lichtenstein,186 patients received open preperitoneal technique and 98 patients received double-layer mesh technique.Results The recurrence rates of these three groups were low,0.65％,0.54％,0,respectively,and there was no significant difference in the recurrence rate between these 3 groups (P ＞0.05),but significant difference in the foreign body sensation and postoperative pain between the open preperitoneal technique group and the other two groups(P ＜ 0.05),and the cost of the double-layer mesh technique group was ahout 2000 yuan higher than the other two groups.Conclusion The open preperitoneal technique can reduce the postoperative pain and foreign body sensation after surgery with low cost,and it is a good choice for inguinal hernia repair.
