A Study on glutamic pyruvic and oxaloacetic transaminase of different organs(e.g intestine, seminal vesicle, reticular tissue, uterus, ovary, testes) in Ascaris lumbricoides suis have been investigated. The activity of transaminase were determined on the whole homogenates and subcellular fractions separated by differential centrifugation. The activity of glutamic pyruvic and oxaloacetic were assayed by colorimetric method of Reitman-Frankel. The results were obtained as follows: About ninty percent of the glutamic pyruvic and oxaloacetic transaminase in different organs was found to be localized in the supernatant fraction with the separation of differential centrifugation. And it was found that ten percent of glutamic pyruvic and oxaloacetic transaminase exists in the mitochondrial fraction. The specific activity of glutamic oxaloacetic transnaminase in different organs was relatively higher than the glutamic pyruvic transaminase activity.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2003;0(09):-
Objective To study the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) mRNA in neonatal rats with HIBD and to explore the function of VEGF in HIBD. Methods Fourty-eight Wistar rats of 7-day-old were assigned randomly to the control or HIBD groups. The left common carotid artery of rats in HIBD group were isolated and ligated, then exposed to hypoxic environment (8%O 2) for two hours. In control group the rat left common carotid artery were isolated, but not ligated and not exposed to hypoxic environment. Animals were killed in 3 h, 12 h, 24 h and 3 d after HIBD. The expression of VEGF mRNA in hippocampus were examined by RT-PCR.Results VEGF164 was the most prominent transcript of VEGF mRNA splice variants. The expression of VEGF mRNA was present in control group, but there were no significant differences between time points ( F =0.176, P =0.911). Levels of VEGF mRNA in HIBD group were higher than that in the control group at all time points( P

Korean Circulation Journal 1990;20(3):432-440
The Marfan syndrome, a rare disease causing a marked decrease in life expectancy by involving the skeletal, ocular, and cardiovascular systems, is known as a connective tissue disorder that is inherited autosomal dominant. The cardiovascular complications directly related to the cause of death are associated with more than 90% of the Marfan syndrome. Aortic aneurysm with rupture could occur because of dilatation of aorta due to defect of media. Aortic and mitral insufficiency, mitral valve prolapse, bacterial endocarditis, arrhythmia, and aneurysm of interatrial septum are also frequently observed. A few literatures were reported domestically pertaining to the Marfan syndrome thus far, and there are increased discoveries of cardiovascular complications of the syndrome with the application of echocardiogram. However, the Marfan syndrome with LA myxoma has never been reported both domestically and internationally(INDEX MEDICUS, 1966-1989). Therefore we hereby report a case of the Marfan syndrome with LA myxoma from the observation of a patient who was admitted to Eulji General Hospital at Taejeon i August of 1989.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2015;(6):449-452
Purpose To explore the relationship of Tei index and the concentration of plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. Materials and Methods Fifty healthy individuals (control group) and fifty dilated cardiomyopathy patients (study group) were recruited in this study. BNP level was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Color Doppler echocardiography were performed to measure the cardiac indices including left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDd), left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESd), interventricular septal thickness at diastole (IVSd), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Tei index was then calculated. The indices between the two groups were compared and correlation of Tei index and BNP with cardiac indices was analyzed. Results LVEDd, LVESd, Tei index, and BNP were significantly higher in study group than those in control group (t=14.4, 23.4, 21.9 and 22.3, P<0.01). IVSd and LVEF were significant lower in the study group (t=12.4 and 12.5, P<0.01). BNP was negatively correlated with LVEF (r= -0.266, P<0.05), and positively correlated with Tei index and LVEDd (r=0.401 and 0.326, P<0.05). Tei index was negatively correlated with LVEF and E/A (r= -0.480 and - 0.241, P<0.05), and positively correlated with LVEDd (r=0.375, P<0.05). Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the variates of BNP stepwise regression equation were Tei index, LVEF and LVEDd (t=5.984, -2.477 and 2.326, P<0.05); after correcting LVEF, the stepwise regression analysis showed closer relationship between Tei index and BNP (t=2.728, P<0.05). Conclusion There is correlation between Tei index and BNP. Tei index may be a good index for accurately estimating global ventricular function.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1953;0(01):-
A total of 442 cases (adult male 256 cases, adult female 142 cases and young specimens of both sexes 44 cases) of suprameatal spines of 225 chinese crania,217 bilaterally and 8 unilaterally, were investigated. They are divided into 4 types according to the degree of development in a decreasing order as 1.markedly developed,2.well developed,3.slightly developed and 4.undeveloped. The percentage of markedly developed and well developed types is much higher in male adults (17.9% and 41.80% respectively) than in the female adults (5.63% and 20.42% respectively),while the percentage of slightly developed and undeveloped types is reversely much higher in female adults (61.97% and 11.97% respectively) than in male adults (35.94% and 4.30% respectively). In young cadavers of both sexes 52.27% of the cases are not developed,40.91% slightly developed, only 6.82% well developed and none markedly developed. The results obtained show statistically the existence of age and sexual differences in the development of the suprameatal spines. They are better developed in male adults than in female adults and in adults than in non-adults. The suprameatal spine is an important bony land mark for operations upon the tympanic antrum of the midde ear,so its exact state of development and location be becomes prime importance for the surgeons.

A simple method for the isolation and purification of ginkgolide A, B and bilobalide(ginkgo terpene trialctone) was developed. A commercially available extract of leaves of Ginkgo biloba L.containing >6% ginkgo terpene trilactone was used as the raw material. After partition in EtOAc, the en-riched extract was separated to give individual terpenes by preparative liquid chromatography. GinkgolideA, B and bilobalide could be isolated with high purity by recrystallizing in MeOH-H2O.

Bulletin of The Academy of Military Medical Sciences 2009;33(6):577-579
The liver is an important organ of the body, with an extraordinary capacity for responding to physical or chemical injuries by regenerating. The mechanisms behind liver regeneration are very complicated as hundreds of substances are involved. However, most of them are not liver-specific,such as HGF,EGF etc. We recently isolated a pure protein with hepatic stimulatory activity from the extract of a weanling calf liver and named its hepatopoietin Cn (HPPCn).This paper, with reference to our own work, mainly reviews the development and bioactivity about hepatic stimulator substance(HSS),augmenter of liver regeneration(ALR),hepassocin(HPS) and HPPCn,which are liver-specific biologically active peptides.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the resistant effect of houttuyfonate sodium (SH) combined with imipenem (IMP) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa) biofilms.
METHODThe two-fold dilution method was used to examine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the tested drug. The crystal violet staining was applied to detect the effect of the combination of 1/2MIC, 1MIC, 2MIC of SH, single IMP, 1/2MIC of SH and IMP of various concentrations on the clearance rate of adherent bacteria, growth of biofilms and alginate production. Fluorescein diacetate (FDA)-propidium iodide (PI) doubling staining assay was employed to observe the bacterial viability and morphological changes after membrane dispersion of each drug group.
RESULTSodium houttuyfonate could enhance the effect of IMP against pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms. Particularly, the combination group with the concentration of 2MIC showed the highest effect, with P < 0.001 compared with the negative control group. The above results were proved by the bacterial viability and biofilm morphology under fluorescence microscope.
CONCLUSIONAfter being combined with imipenem, sodium houttuyfonate shows a higher effect against biofilms. It is expected that the combination of the two drugs could improve the clinical efficacy of associated infections.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1997;32(3):749-753
In the treatment of malleolar fracture, anatomical reduction and rigid internal fixation are essential to prevent the complications such as infection, malunion or nonunion, traumatic arthritis, skin necrosis and joint contracture. But it is often difficult to obtain rigid fixation for medial malleolar fracture because of its comminution or thin cortex with osteoporosis. Generally, two operative methods are available for medial malleolar fracture, which are malleolar lag screw fixation and tension band wiring. The purpose of this paper is to analyze which operative method is better for anatomical reduction and rigid fixation and has less postoperative complications for medial malleolar fractures. From March 1992 through March 1995, 88 patients had undergone surgical intervention for medial malleolar fractures. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to operative method for medial malleolar fracture. For one group, malleolar lag screw together with or without a K-wire was used in 48 patients, and for the other group, tension band wiring was used in 40 patients. The average follow-up periods were 14 months in screw fixation group and 13 months in tension band wiring group. The average union time were 15.4 weeks (8-17 weeks) in screw fixation group and 12.2 weeks (6-15 weeks) in tension band wiring group. 27 cases (56%) showed excellent result in screw fixation group and 30 cases (75%) in tension band wiring group. In the patient over 50 years old, 2 (15%) in 13 cases showed excellent result of screw fixation group, while 5 (45%) in 11 cases of tension band wiring group. We concluded that tension band wiring is a better method for medial malleolar fracture to obtain early union and to prevent postoperative complications, especially in the elderly patient.
