1.Clinial Study of Nevocellular Nevus in Korea.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1977;15(3):287-295
Nevocellular nevi are benign tumors composed of nevus cells, which are peculiar to man and almost everyone has a few nevi somewhere on his body. The dermatologist has a unique opportunity to study the most common neoplaam of man, the nevocellular nevus, becasue of its ready accessibility to visual observation and its simplicity obtaining for microscopic specimen. Much has been leamed last two decades about the nature, origin, and development of the nevocellular nevus. However, most of the these knowledge obtained by investigation of Caucasians. The investigation of colored subjects are scarcely reported. This paper is an attempt to clarify 1) the clinical features of nevocellular nevi developed on Korean, colored race. 2) the incidence of pigmented nevi developed on normal individuals and vitiligo patients. During the last l0 month(1975. 3. - 1975. 12. ) 525 normal individuals and 67 vitiligo patients were randomly selected and were investigated about incidence and clinical morphology(according to Levers clinical classification) of pigmented nevi developed on different body areas. The results were summarized as follows. 1) There was average 20 nevocellular nevi in each Korean individuals. Average 23 nevi was found in male and 15 nevi in female. 2) The number of nevus and its morphology were closely related to the age of host and body areas. 3) The flat type nevi was the most common type nevi and face was the most common site among the body areas. 4) In comparison with Caucasian, it seemed no racial difference in clinical features of the pigmented nevus. 5) There was no difference between the incidence of nevocellular nevus developed on normal individual and that of vitiligo patient.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1977;15(3):359-363
Mixed tumor can be defined as arising from the skin, often from sweat glands, and as being composed of epithelial elements intermingled with cartilage or myxoid tissue in such a way that epithelial cells appear to be continuous with these otber types of cells without separation by a basement membrane. RecentIy, we had opportunity to observe a patient, 34-year-old woman, who had typical mixed tumor of the skin in the central portion of the chin. The tumor developed as a solitary, firm, rice-sized subcutaneous nodule which had been present for 6 months with little increase in size and without any pain and tendemess. The covering skin was normal except mild erythema. Clinically, the lesion was simiIar to sebaceaus cyst, Under local anesthesia, tbe whole tumor mass was removed surgically for histologic study. The histopathologic finding reveals nests of cuboidal or polygonal cells, tubuloalveolar and ductal structures, and homogeneous, faintly bluish chondroid or foamy appearing matrix. Korean Journal of Urology 1969;10(1):11-15
The mongrel dogs, anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium, were used as experimental animals. The effects of a single intravenous injection of ethyl adrianol. 0.5 mg per kg of body weight, on cardiovascular response and urinary flow were compared with those of epinephrine, 0.05 mg per kg of body weight and norepinephrine, 0.05 mg per kg of body weight. 1) The pressor effect induced with 0.5 mg of ethyl adrianol per kg of body weight was similar to that with equipressor doses, 0.05 mg, kg of epinephrine or norepinephrine. 2) The duration of the pressor action of ethyladrianol lasted at least one hour but only about 15minutes with equipressor dose of epinephrine or norepinephrine. 3) Ethyladrienol was responsible for the increase of the urinary volume, which phenomenon is assumed to be related of the renal-function and the durability of the reaction. 4) Ethyladrianol is considered to be one of the ideal drugs for the treatment of hypotensive shock.

Nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis is a very rare skin disease, which usually is present at birth. The lesion shows groups of asymptomatic soft papules or nodules, which have a smooth or folded surface and are skin colored or yellowish. The area of predilection is the pelvic girdle (especially the buttock and sacrococcygeal areas). Microscopically, nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis reveals groups of etopic fat cell nests within the dermis. Only one case was reported in Korea(1969). The authors observed a case of typical nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis. The patient was 19 year-old male, who ha,ve had asymptomatic soft papules and nodules on the buttock, lower back and scalp since 14 years of his age. Routine laboratory findings were within normal limit. Histopathological findings showed etopic fat cell nests within mid and lower dermis (Fig. 3) Diagnosis was confirmed by clinical and histopathological findings. Litercature was briefly reviewed for the discussion.

We cairried out this study to find the possibility of itch control with acupuncture under the hypothesis that antipruritic effect also exists if the itch sensation is closely allied to pain. We evaluated the effect of acupuncture on histarnine induced itch, flare and wheal in 20 healthy male volunteers aged 24 32 years old and compared it with the effect of pseudoacupuncture on them and that of no intervention on them. The results were as follows: 1. Mans of itch intensity and duration were decreased in A(session with acupuncture) and P(session with Pseudoacupuncture), compared to those of N(session with no intervention), and A was more effective in decreasing the itch intensity and its duration than P. 2. Means of maximal sizes of flare and wheal were smaller in A and P, but there was no remarkable difference between A and P.

7.A Case of Anetoderma of Jadassohn-Pellizali.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1977;15(3):347-351
Anetoderma or macular atrophies is a localized laxity of the skin, resulting from defect in the elastie tissue of the dermis. This defect produces a clinical picture consisting of circumscribed area of soft, thin and wrinkled skin, which can be pushed easily into the subcutaneous tissue by the examining finger. When the lesions appear without any preceding recognizable disorder, they considered to be primary macular atrophies. In this group, based on whether an inflammatory reaction has occurred before the appearance of macular atrophy, two types aer generally acknowledged: Anetoderma of Jadassohn-Pellizali has a preceding inflammatory reaction, whereas anetoderma of Schweninger-Buzzi has had no preceding discemible inflammatory changes. The authors observed a case of anetoderma of Jadassohn-Pellizali in a 34 year old male when showed bean to coin sized rovnd or oval, thin, soft and wrinkled macules on the trunk, shoulder and upper extremities. About 3 years ago, erythematous macules developed which extended for several months to reach a size of l.5 to 2.5 cm. Slowly each lesion faded from the cener to outward Ieaving soft and wrinkled macules(Fig.l). Routine physical and laboratory findings were within-normal-limit. Histopathological findings showed scanty and fragmentation of the elastic fiber of the dermis and perivascular non-specific inflammatory cell infiltration. (Fig. 2, 3 & 4) Diagnosis was confirmed by clinical and histopathological findings. Literature was briefly reviewed for the discussion,

We report a case of Lymphomatoid granulomatosis in a 54-year-old woman. She presented with a two months history of a tender nodule located on the left for earm associated with fever and pulmonary symptoma aggravated against various treatments. She died 92 days of admission because of respiratory failure. Diagnosis was based on the clinical features and histopathologic findings of the skin lesion.
