The eyeball can be divided into the anterior and posterior compartment bordering on the lens. The ocular wallis composed of three layers, namely the sclera, choroid and retina. Different pathologic conditions can occur, depending on the anatomic location. This paper illustrates the anatomical features of normal eyeball, as seen onMRI, and a variety of pathologic conditions of the compartments. An understanding of the MR features of variousintraocular lesions is thus facilitated

Functional paraganglioma of the mediastinum is an uncommon tumor of the paraganglion system that causes symptoms and signs of episodic catecholamine release. It has not been reported in Korea. We experienced a case of a 17 years old man with a history of diaphoresis and paroxysmal hypertension refractory to therapy since 14 years old. Urinary execretion of catecholamine and its metabolites were elevated. Computed tomography(CT) scan revealed high density mass located on the posterior mediastinum in the area of the right fifth intercostal space. At thoracotomy, a 3X3X4cm sized lesion was resected and confirmed as a paraganglioma.

In the treatment of aortoiliac disease, two methods could be considered. One is percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, and the other is bypass graft. However sometimes two methods could be combined in high risk patients with a lengthy unilateral occlusion of one iliac artery and less extensive obstruction of the contralateral one, since higher risk aortofemoral bypass surgery may be obviated by femoro-femoral bypass graft after percutaneous treatment of the less diseased iliac artery. We report two cases of arortoiliac disease treated with Strecker stent followed by femoro-femoral bypass graft.

The spinal canal takes the form of a series of cylinders designated by their relationship to the meninges and is divided by the dura mater into the epidural or extradural space and the intradural space. The epidural space is composed of spinal ligaments, connective and areolar tissue, the epidural venous plexus, lymphatic channels and supporting elements, and various pathologic entities are found there. MR imaging can accurately depict the extent and characteristics of lesions, and in some cases specific diagnosis is possible. In this pictorial essay, we illustrate a variety of spinal epidural lesions and their MR findings.

The endodermal sinus tumor (EST) is the second most common form of malignant germ cell tumor of the ovary. It accounts for 22% of germ cell lesions and the median age of the patients is 19 years. Three fourths of the patients are initially seen with a combination of abdominal pain and abdominal or pelvic mass. Acute pain is caused by torsion of the tumor and the symptoms are acute and may lead to the diagnosis of acute appendicitis or a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. The tumor is usually large with most tumors measuring between 10 and 30 cm diameter. These neoplasms are highly malignant. In the past, these tumors were once almost uniformly fatal within 2 years of diagnosis, but recent advances in treating the EST of the ovary with the combination chemotherapy result in improvement of the prognosis. Management of younger patients with early stage ovarian EST who desire to preserve fertility can be a challenging problem, and treatment strategies which can save ovarian function must be considered. We have experienced three cases of endodermal sinus tumor in three women (Ic, 18 years; IIc, 20 years; Ic and right proximal femur metastasis, 21 years) and report them with eager review of literatures.
