1.A Clinical Observation of Renal Cell Carcinoma.
Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(2):249-253
Follow-up study was made on l0 patients of renal cell carcinoma who were treated at Seoul Paik Hospital since 1982. among the l0 cases, male was 9 cases and female was l case. Average patient age was 55.3 years, with a range of 45 to 67 years. Except one, all of the patients had hematuria either gross or microscopic, but the classic triad of hematuria, flank pain and abdominal mass was present in 3 patients. In 2 cases of the 5 cases who were not examined by C-T scan revealed renal tumor and concurred with pathologic finding. At initial diagnosis, distant metastasis was present in 30% of the patients and 1 patient had subcutaneous lesion and the solitary lesion of the lung. Mean survival time of stage IV renal cell carcinoma was 16 months in this report.

Choong Hee ROU ; Kun Woen CHOO
Korean Journal of Urology 1982;23(1):34-39
A clinical observation was made on 15 patients of renal pelvis tumors during the period from 1965 to 1980 in the Department of Urology, Seoul National University Hospital. The results were as follows: 1. The patients ranged in age from 35 to 76 years (mean age 54.4 years) with the highest incidence during the sixth decade (47%) 2. There were 13 men and 2 women, for a ratio of 6.5 : 1. 3. The right kidney was more involved (9 cases) than left (6 cases). 4. The most frequent symptom ms and signs were hematuria in 86%, flank pain in 47%. weight loss in 40% and palpable mass in 13%. 5. The IVP findings are a filling defect (47%), non-visualization (33%), renal mass (13%) and hydronephrosis (6%) in orders. A filling defect was demonstrated on the retrograde pyelography in 10 cases (67%) and obstruction was noted in 2 cases (13%). 6. The pelvis tumors were staged into 4 Stage I were 4 cases (27%), stage II were 2 cases (13%), stage II were 4 cases (27%) and stage IV were 5 cases (33%). 7. 4 patients (27%) had associated bladder tumors. 8. The type of operation was nephroureterctomy (7 cases), nephrectomy (7 cases) and ureterectomy (1 case) and open biopsy (1 cases).

3.A Study of Urodynamics on Stress Incontinence.
Choong Hee ROU ; Young Kyoon KIM
Korean Journal of Urology 1981;22(6):576-580
13 stress incontinent women were evaluated urodynamically, compared with 13 normal women evaluated urodynamically, compared with 13 normal women as control group in the Department of Urology, Seoul National University Hospital during the period March, 1980 through June, 1981 and the following results were obtained; 1. Cystometry, provocation test and electromyography were normal in 13 stress incontinent women. 2. Functional urethral length was not short significantly in stress incontinent women, compared with control group. 3. Maximum urethral closure pressure was significantly lower is stress incontinence than in normal. 4. Total area and area to maximum pressure were significantly narrower in stress incontinence than in control group.

5.A Case of Fibroma of Tunica Vaginalis.
Byung Hoon MIN ; Hong Yong CHOI ; Ju Hong KIM ; Choong Hee ROU ; Hee Seok CHOI
Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(2):361-364
Benign tumors within the scrotum are rare. The clinical recognition and correct identification are important from a standpoint of treatment and prognosis, as compared with the malignant testicular tumors. This benign tumor is also called fibrous pseudotumor of the testis. It is difficult to distinguish fibromas of the tunica vaginalis from tumors arising within the scrotum. The majority of the tumors of the testicular tunics are benign and therefore the prognosis is more favorable than those of the testes. Clinically, it is difficult to distinguish the fibroma of tunics from a malignant tumor of the testis. Final diagnosis is usually made after surgical exploration. A case of tunica vaginalis in 71-year-old male is presented with a brief review of literatures.
