Objective To investigate the efficacy of steroid spray nose treated in child with chronic nasosi- nusitis.Methods 161 cases who were examined a patient of the 5～14 years old child of a chronicⅠtype nasosi- nusitis were divided into two groups,A group 92 cases,spray with the steroid spray nose+the complex treatment.B group 69 cases,only uses the complex treatment,a month of the course of treatment,two groups of all match with the nasal sinuses to douche.Results All cases were followed-up for at least 6 months.In A group,71 cases were cured,13 cases turned for the better,8 was invalid.Total efficient rate was 91.3 %.In 13 group,40 cases were cured, 13 cases turned for the better,16 was invalid.The efficient rate was 76.8 %.The A group obviously surpassed the B group(P

Effects of Pb,Zn,Cu and Cd on growth and enzyme activities of microorganisms such as Bacillus licheniformis 2709,Bacillus subtilis1.398 and Aspergillus usamii 537,which can individually produce alka-line,neutral and acid protease,were studied,respectively. By determining growth and enzyme activities of three bacterial species,as well as analyzing their tolerance and resistance indicators(MTC and MIC) using growth inhibition plate analysis(GIPA) under different heavy metal gradients,results showed that four heavy metals under higher than a special concentration level significantly inhibited growth and enzyme ac-tivities of three species. The alkaline protease exhibited greatest adaptability to four heavy metals,next the neutral protease also exhibited certain adaptibilty to Zn and Cd,whereas the acid protease was totally inhib-ited under any levels of heavy metal concentrations. Three species not only showed great potential to tolerate and resist toxicity of lead and zinc(2.0 mmol/L-6.0 mmol/L) ,but also showed certain resistance to cad-mium(0.5 mmol/L-0.75 mmol/L) .

Objective To investigate the executive function of children with different sports training. Methods Forty children with Ping-Pong training (Ping-Pong group) and 41 children with swimming training (swimming group), aged 6-9 years, completed GO/NOGO task. Behavioral data (reaction time and accuracy) and event related potential component N2 were collected and analyzed. Results The reaction time was significantly faster and accuracy significantly lower of GO task and NOGO task in swimming group than in Ping-Pong group (P<0.05 and P<0.01). There were significant differences in the amplitude of NOGO-N2 on site CPz between swimming group and Ping-Pong group[(-11.36±9.4) μV vs (-7.55±7.99) μV, P<0.05]. Conclusion The inhibitory function of children with Ping-Pong training is stronger than those with swimming training.

Aim To establish a combined method ofβ-glucuronidase hydrolysis and LC-MS-MS analysis for the determination of scutellarein in human plasma, and investigate the pharmacokinetics of scutellarin prepara-tion in healthy male volunteers. Methods Plasma samples were prepared by enzymolysis with β-glucu-ronidase and protein precipitation with methanol. The analytes scutellarein and quercetin ( IS ) were separa-ted on an Agilent ZORBAX SB C18 column ( 2. 1 mm × 150 mm, 5 μm) with the mobile phases consisting of acetonitrile, methanol and water. Multiple reaction monitoring ( MRM) on MS was used to monitor precur-sor to produce ion transitions of m/z 285. 0→136. 8 for scutellarein and m/z 301. 1→120. 8 for IS. After method validation, this method was applied to deter-mine the plasma concentration of scutellarein in 12 male volunteers following single oral administration of 120 mg scutellarin preparation. Drug And Statistic soft-ware (1. 0) was used to process data and the pharma-cokinetic parameters were calculated. Results The assay was validated with linear range of 4 . 01-513. 38μg · L-1 for scutellarein. The intra- and inter-batch precisions ( RSD%) were within 7. 22%. The absolute recoveries were more than 84. 23%. The pharmacoki-netic parameters after a single dose were as follows:Cmax (μg · L-1 ): 159. 97 ± 58. 14; AUC(0-19) (μg · L-1·h):1151. 37 ±279. 80; AUC(0-∞)(μg·L-1· h):1194. 13 ± 264. 51; Tmax ( h):6. 33 ± 1. 67; T1/2 (h):2. 83 ± 0. 60. Conclusion The assay method is proved to be sensitive, accurate and convenient. It can be successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study of scutellarin in healthy male volunteers.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Yisui Shengxue Granule (YSSXG), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine for reinforcing kidney and nourishing blood, in treating hemoglobin H (HbH) disease. METHODS: YSSXG was given orally to 25 patients with HbH disease in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (high incidence area for HbH disease in China) for 3 months as one therapeutic course, 3 times a day, 10 g YSSXG was given each time (dose of YSSXG for children should be reduced properly), and blood transfusion was not given to HbH patients during the course of treatment. The levels of hemoglobin (Hb), red blood cell (RBC), HbH and reticulocyte (Ret) were observed before and after YSSXG treatment, and side effects were observed during the course of treatment. Meanwhile, the genotype was examined, and the clinical efficacy of YSSXG in treating HbH patients with different genotype was evaluated. RESULTS: The levels of Hb, RBC and Ret were obviously increased after YSSXG treatment from the first month to the end of treatment (P<0.01). After YSSXG treatment, the levels of Hb, RBC, Ret in 12 HbH patients with gene deletion were elevated (P<0.05, P<0.01), and the levels of Hb and Ret in 13 HbH patients with gene non-deletion were increased obviously (P<0.05, P<0.01). The total response rate was 84% after 3-month treatment, and there was no statistical difference in clinical efficacy between gene deletion HbH patients and non-deletion HbH patients. No adverse effect was observed during the course of treatment. CONCLUSION: YSSXG is effective and safe for treatment of HbH disease. YSSXG can improve the levels of Hb, RBC and Ret in HbH patients, especially in gene deletion HbH patients.

To explore the relationship between syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and genetic background in patients with beta-thalassemia.

OBJECTIVETo summarize clinical outcomes of locking compression plate (LCP) combined with minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO) for the treatment of Pilon fracture.

METHODSFrom January 2009 to December 2012, Pilon fracture patients treated by LCP with MIPPO were retrospectively analyzed. All open fractures, pathologic fractures and those who had limb vascular disease or nerve injury were excluded. Thirty-eight patients were enrolled, including 29 males and 9 females aged from 21 to 78 years old with an average of 48 years old. According to AO classification, 20 cases were type B, 18 cases were type C. Operative time, blood loss, reduction quality, time of fracture healing complications and postoperative ankle joint function were applied for evaluating clinical outcomes, AOFAS scoring were used for assessing postoperative clinical effects.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 13 to 24 months (averaged 18 months). All patients obtained bone union without any plate failures or loss of fixation/reduction. One patient occurred superficial wound infection, and resolved with antibiotics and local wound care. Postoperative average AOFAS score was 81 (ranged 65 to 97).

CONCLUSIONLCP with MIPPO for Pilon fratcure has advantages of less invasion, fewer complications and satisfactory ankle function.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of CT guided percutaneous aspiration and sclerotherapy in treatment of hepatic cysts.Methods Sixty three patients with single(n=41)and muttiple(n= 22)hepatic cysts were undertaken CT guided pereutaneous aspiration and sclerotherapy with injection of absolute alcohol.Results Sixty three patients underwent follow-up for 3-15 months after the operation showing effective indexes as grade 0 for 4(6.39%),gradeⅠfor 8(12.69%),gradeⅡfor 23(36.51%)and gradeⅢfor 28(44.44%)cases.The total effective rate reached 93.61%.No serious complications occurred. Conclusion Sclerosing therapy with absolute alcohol is safe,economic,simple and effective for treating hepatic cysts.(J Intervent Radiol,2007,16:850-852)

Objective To investigate the phenotype, frequency of Th17 cells and the association between Th17 cells and viral clearance in patients with H1N1 influenza A. Methods Three groups including 70 confirmed patients with H1N1 influenza A, 30 patients with seasonal influenza as well as 68 healthy subjects as controls were enrolled in this study. The percentages of Th1, Th2, Treg and Th17 lymphocytes in the peripheral blood were determined by intracellular staining and flow cytometry. The levels of interferon-γ (IFN-γ), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β),interleukin-6 (IL-6) in plasma and supernatant of the peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC)culture were quantified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Viral load in nasopharyngeal swabs was detected by real time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RTPCR). Data were analyzed by one way ANOVA and liner correlation analysis. Results The percentage of Th17 cells in H1N1 influenza A patients was (2. 740±0. 210)%, which the percentage of was significantly decreased compared to healthy subjects (3. 443 ±0. 154)% and seasonal influenza patients (3. 443±0. 277) % (F=4. 242, P＜0. 05); while the percentage of Thl, Th2 and Treg cells were not significantly different among these groups. Moreover, the TGF-β level in plasma of H1N1 influenza A patients was (10±8) ng/mL, which was significantly lower than healthy subjects (43 ±32 ) ng/mL and seasonal influenza patient ( 18 ± 10) ng/mL ( F= 17.72, P＜0.01 ). The TGF-β level in the supernatant of PBMC culture of H1N1 influenza A patients was (782 ± 736) pg/mL, which was significantly lower than healthy subjects (1462±315) pg/mL and seasonal influenza patients (1481 ±348) pg/mL (F=5. 730, P＜0.01). Additionally, the viral clearance period was inversely correlated with the percentage of Th17 cells (r=-0.38, P=0.02). Conclusions The proportion of Th17 cells in patients with H1N1 influenza A is significantly decreased, which is closely correlated with the level of TGF-β. This decrease may results in the delayed viral clearance.
