1. Research of protein phosphatase 2A inhibition by norcantharidin on radiosensitivity enhancement of nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE1
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2016;51(18):1579-1585
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the radiosensitizing effect of PP2A inhibition on nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells and its xenografts. METHODS: Co-immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry were used to examine PP2A activity, cell cycle analysis and apoptosis of CNE1 and its xenografts, in order to explore the effect of radiosensitization in CNE1 cells. RESULTS: Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were measured by flow cytometry 24 h after treatment. The combination of 8 Gy and 40 μmol < L-1 norcantharidin produced significantly accumulation of cells in G2/M-phase( 45.71 ±2.015)% and more apoptosis(75.63 ± 6.11)% in CNE1 cell lines compared with norcantharidin alone and to radiation alone, norcantharidin in combination with radiation produced the greatest effects on tumor growth slowing and decreasing tumor weight by 87.64% relative to vehicle in CNE1 xenografts. Our data demonstrate that inhibition of PP2 A with radiation significantly sensitizes nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell lines in vitro and in vivo. CONCLUSION: The inhibition of PP2A with norcantharidin inhibited xenograft growth obviously. Our results support further exploration of PP2A inhibition as part of radiotherapy regimens for NPC and potentially other solid tumors.

5.Analysis of articles published in Chin J Surg since founded in 1951.
Chinese Journal of Surgery 2016;54(1):63-68
OBJECTIVETo discuss the characteristics of the articles published in Chin J Surg from 1951 to 2015.
METHODSThe journals and articles of Acad Surg from 1951 to 1952 and Chin J Surg from 1953 to 2015 were analyzed. The subjects, foundation, basic medical study, international cooperation of the articles were recorded.
RESULTSIn 65 years, there were 20 090 academic articles published in Chin J Surg. The proportions of general surgery, orthopedic surgery, thoracocardiac surgery, urology surgery and neurosurgery articles were 34.08%, 17.96%, 13.09%, 11.91% and 5.85%, respectively. There were 14.83% (1 728/11 653) articles receiving foundation, and 9.42% (1 817/19 290) articles reporting basic medical study. There were 14.8% articles from international authors and 119 articles with international cooperation. From 2000 to 2003, 29 articles in original English were published.
CONCLUSIONSThe coverage of Chin J Surg contains all the fields of surgery. It tends to publish the studies focus on clinical issues.Through reinforcing the content plan and optimizing the show form, the more Chinese surgical research achievements could be shared by the surgeons worldwide.

8. Encouraging innovative researches based on science
Chinese Journal of Neurology 2020;53(1):1-4
In the coming new year, more innovative researches are encouraged to be published in the journal. We hope researchers pay more attention to ethic issues and conflicts of interest statement, details on case ascertainment and control selection method (such as diagnosis, inclusion and exclusion criteria). We also hope to publish more systematic reviews in the journal.

Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine 2008;42(6):414-417
OBJECTIVETo carry out the citation analysis of publications in Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine (CJPM) among the preventive medicine authors and analyze the impact of this magazine in preventive medicine domain.
METHODSUsing Chinese scientific periodical literature evaluation and statistical analysis system (V1.0), the citation status of all CJPM publications in 2000-2005 was analyzed, the analysis covered 21 columns, including the review, editorial and original article, the data were collected up to November, 2007.
RESULTSFrom 2000 to 2005, CJPM had more than 30 columns and carried 1196 articles and 92. 89% (1111/1196) articles were from 21 main columns. During 2003 to 2005, the impact factors of CJPM were 0. 897, 1.011 and 0. 891 respectively. Among 21 main columns, the citation frequency of six columns including original article, editorial, review, courses, discussion and case report were higher than 80%. In five columns (original article, editorial, report, review and academic trends), the average citation frequency of individual articles was more than 4 times. The citation frequency of 20 authors was higher than 20 times and these authors were from medical schools, teaching hospitals, centers of diseases control and the research institutes. The individual citation frequency of 17 articles was more than 20 times and the individual citation frequency of three articles was more than 50 times. 34.9% of the citations of the 2000-2005 CJPM articles were from the top 20 journals, and the self-citation rate was 4. 85%.
CONCLUSIONThe publications in Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine are most frequently cited, which indicated that those publications have high quality, this journal has a great effect in preventive medicine field of China.
