Objective:To explore the clinical curative effect of Gankening in treating chronic nonproductive cough based on syndrome differentiation.Method:90 cases were allocated to two groups randomly,the treatment group(60 cases) treated with Gankening based on syndrome differentiation and the control group(30 cases) treated with Zhisou Powder and Beilai.The composite effect of the two groups,the curative effects of every syndrome pattern in the treatment group before and after treatment and the relationship between the symptom index and the curative effect were observed.Result:The clinical effects of the treatment group were markedly exceeded the control group.In the treatment group,the clinical control rate was 53.33%(32 cases),markedly effective rate was 30%(18 cases),the(effective) rate was 13.33%(8 cases) and the total effective rate was 96.67%.There was distinct difference in the treatment group before and after treatment(P

Objective:To build up discriminatory formulas for TCM Syndrome Differentiation Type(TCMSDT) of Aplastic Anemia(AA),discuss ??T subset and their relation with discriminatory formulas.Method:Under the cytometry technique,immuno-indexes in peripheral blood of 34 AA patients and 34 healthy persons were detected.Then build up discriminatory formulas to quantify TCMSDT of AA,and to analyze relations between the subset and TCMSDT.Result:Firstly,absolute value of CD45RA~(+),CD3~(+)CD25~(+) and CD3~(+)HLA-DR~(+),CD3~(+)CD25~(+)(%)and CD4~(+)??T(%)are singled out to make up discriminatory formulas,the total correct ratio is 76.5%.Secondly,vs.control,CD4~(+)??T(%)is statistically in deficiency of kidney-yang group(P

Objective: To explore the changes of activity of antioxidases in hippocampus of the rats with multi-infarct dementia and the intervention effects of acupuncture.Method: The multi-infarct dementia model was made by injected emboli into the internal carotid artery.The demented rats were allocated to 3 groups randomly: model,acup and sham-acup;meanwhile normal and sham-operated rats were used as control.The parameters of oxidative stress were assessed by measuring the malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) levels in hippocampus after acupuncture treatment.Result: Compared to normal group,MDA levels of hippocampus in model animals increased significantly,while SOD and GSH-Px decreased much more;No significant difference was observed in CAT among groups.Interestingly,the acupuncture treatment could significantly improve all those indexes.Conclusion: SOD/GSH-Px pathway may be playing a major role in combating oxidative stress in the brain of MID rats,the CAT activity not the key enzyme.Acupuncture treatment could increase the activity of antioxidase SOD/GSH-Px,alleviate the injury of free radical and maintain the oxidant-antioxidant balance to a great extent.This may be one of the mechanisms of its therapeutic effect.

During the Qin-Han Dynasty,the system of terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) has been initially established.With the progress of TCM subject and increasing of academic exchanges,one word having two or more meanings,one meaning with two or more words,and development of meanings of words have come into sight,following with the appearance of new concepts and terms.TCM terms have their distinction.The characteristics of TCM terms were: characteristic of history; ②characteristic of culture;qualitative description;using concrete word to describe the abstract concept.During the new century,TCM needs modernization.Clear concept and standard terms are important for modernization of TCM.Meanwhile,there was confusion on translation of terms on the internationalization of TCM.Standard terms were precondition of the academic exchange and popularizing TCM.In a word,the standardization of terms of TCM became one of the keys for the modernization and internationalization of TCM.

Through analyzing "Formula Syndrome" and blood-serum pharmacology methods,the concept of "Concealed Effect" in pharmacology of traditional Chinese medical formulae was proposed."Concealed Effect"(conducted) by healthy energy,can make formulas bringing into full play of multidirectional adjustment effect.It can be generalized in clinic,thus we can "treat the some syndrome with different methods" and "treat different syndromes with the same principle".

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect and possible mechanism of Jiangzhi Tongmai Fang(JZTMF) on preventing and curing atherosclerosis with methods of invigorating the spleen,dispersing phlegm and dissolving blood stasis.Methods: C57/BL-ApoE knock out mice were raised with cholesterol animal feeds for 90 days to form the experimental models of hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerotic plaque.At the same time the TCM group was given complex prescription of Chinese materia medica continuously for 90 days.The plasma Level of triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) were measured by the end of experiment.Light microscope was adopted to assess the degree of pathologic damage of arterial wall.Results: Complex prescription of Chinese materia medica JZTMF with methods of invigorating the spleen,dispersing phlegm and dissolving blood stasis could inhibit the upgrade of plasma TC,LDL-C.Conclusion: JZTMF could cure experimental hyperlipemia and inhibit the formation of atherosclerotic plaques.
