Objective: To investigate the direct protective effect of SiniTang (SNT) on cultured myocardial cells of neonatal rats injuried by hypoxia and reoxygenation. Methods: The contracting frequency and content of primary-cultured myocardial cells sampled from different groups (control, oxygen and glucose deprivation model, and theated groups with 8. 0, 17. 9, 40, 89. 4, 200?g/mL SNT) were determined by TV recording system and computer image analysis system at different time (hypoxia for 30min, 60min, 90min, 120min, 150min, 180min and reoxygenation for 30min, 60min). The LDH activity in culture media was measured colorimetrically. The quantity of surviving myocardial cells was measured with MTT reduction method. Results: The contraction frequency and range of cultured myocardial cells decreased during hypoxia, the myocardial cells'pulsation of the groups treated with SNT was kept longer than the oxygen and glucose deprivation model, and the myocardial cells treated with SNT of 200?g/mL pulsed again after reoxygenation. After hypoxia for 3 hours, the LDH release of oxygen and glucose deprivation model was significant higher than that of the control ( P

Three-dimensional syndrome differentiation is a new mode of syndrome differentiation of exopathic febrile diseases, which is based upon the six meridian syndrome differentiation initiated in Treatise on Cold Attack and defence-qi-nutrient-blood and triple-Jiao syndrome differentiation in the art of warm disease of traditional Chinese medicine. Syndromes appeared in the course of cold pathogenic diseases and warm diseases were differentiated through the survey of clinical cases and observation on syndrome features of exopathic febrile diseases, by applying means of analyzing, reasoning, concluding and deducting, from the stadium, location and nature of the disease. Three-dimensional syndrome differentiation theory explains and generalizes pathological mechanism and types of syndrome on acute exopathic febrile diseases roundly, has constructed theoretical frame and synthetical model of syndrome differentiation of exopathic febrile diseases. However, any new method of syndrome differentiation can not be leave nothing to be desired in the beginning, so it is proposed that we must develop epidemiologic investigation on syndromes of exopathic febrile diseases sequentially, make models of clinical commonly seen syndromes of exopathic febrile diseases and dispose fuzzy phenomenon of syndrome by applying mathematical method. By above measures, three-dimensional syndrome differentiation will be perfected gradually, therefore, it can provide scientific theoretical basis for the treatment of exopathic febrile diseases.
4.Prevention Action of Changtong Oral Liquid on Postoperative Intestinal Adhesions in Rabbits
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(07):-
Objective: To observe the Prevention Action of Changtong Oral Liquid (CTOL) on the postoperative intestinal adhesions in rabbits. Method: Thirty-six male New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into six equal groups (n=6): Normal control (group 1); model control (group 2); Simo Decoction (group 3); and CTOL minimal, medium and maximal dosages (group 4,5,6). Except group 1, the other rabbits were created as intestinal adhesive models. Group 1 and group 2 were orally fed with distilled water (20ml/kg), and group 3 to 6 with Simo Decoction 10ml/kg and CTOL in doses of 2.15g/kg, 4.30g/kg and 8.60g/kg respectively. On day 3 after surgery, the blood samples were collected to determine the fibrinolytic activity, and on day 9 the adhesion was graded. Result: CTOL could evidently reduce the severity of postoperative adhesions and increase plasma tPA activity and inhibit plasma PAI-1 activity. Conclusion: CTOL could prevent postoperative intestinal adhesion formation.

Objective: To observe the effect of LQC on relieving fever in rabbits and the effect on secretion of TNF-?, probe into the correlated mechanism of LQC on pharmacological action and its substance basic of “treating different diseases with the same therapeutic principle”. Method: Rabbit pyrexia model was made by injecting lipopolysacchatide (LPS) into auris edge vein, and alveolar epithelial cell II damnification model was made by adding LPS to culture medium. The change of temperature and TNF-?lever in cell culture supernate were observed before or after using LQC. Result: LQC can resist the temperature rising by LPS, relieve pyrexia reaction, restrain the augment of TNF-?content. Conclusion: The results suggested that LQC possess distinct function of relieving fever, which is likely related to restraining the abnomal augment of TNF-?.

Objective: To study the anti-inflamation effect of Volatile oil of Centipesa minima and the mechanism of action. Method: The “Two-hit” animal model of acute lung injury in rats was induced by oleic acid and lipopolysaccharide, to observe the protective effect of VOCM on acute lung injury in rats. Result: VOCM was able to suppress lung edema and high numbers of neutrophils, decrease the expression of CD54 in the bronchial epithelium tissue in the acute lung injury animal models. Conclusion: VOCM has a protective effect on acute lung injury in rats. Decreasing the expression of CD54 in the bronchial epithelium tissue may be one of its mechanisms of against respiratory tract inflammation.

; Objective; To observe the preventive and therapeutic effects of Jieduquyuziyin methods in treating corticosteroid osteoporosis in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and investigate into its mechanism. Method; 147 cases of SLE were randomly divided into the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group (79 cases) and the western medicine group (68 cases). There 21 cases which were diagnosed primarily among all 147 cases. 30 healthy cases were taken as the normal control group. The western medicine group (68 cases) was treated mainly with prednisone only, while the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group (79 cases) with Jieduquyuyiyin methods on the basis of normal western medicine. Both groups were treated for 3 months as a course. 16 cases in the western medicine group and 25 cases in the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group were kept on being treated and observed for 2 years. The lever of serum Ca, P, ALP, BGP, IPTH, 25-(OH) D3 and urinary Ca, P and BMD were checked and observed. Result; The levers of serum P, 25-(OH) D3, BGP and BMD in the normal group, primary diagnosis group, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group were higher than those in the western medicine group significantly ( P
8.Effects of Compound Konjac Glucomannan on Hyperlipidemia in Rats
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(11):-
Objective: The experiment was designed to study the effects of compound Konjac glucomannan on hyperlipidemia for the purpose of improving the therapeutic efficacy. Method: First, hyperlipidemia rat models were established. Then the effects of compound Konjac glucomannan and Konjac glucomannan on blood lipids levels and hepatic tissue morphous of rats were detected. Result; The compound Konjac glucomannan could decrease LDL-C and ApoB levels of serum TC significantly, while notably increase HDL-C and ApoA-1 levels. The result also shows that compound Konjac glucomannan could obviously improve the TG metabolism and decrease blood glucose concentration. The morphologic observation indicates that both Konjac glucomannan and flavonids could protect liver tissues of rats. Conclusion; Compound Konjac glucomannan could improve regulative ability of lipids metabolism and decrease serum lipids levels.
