Korean Journal of Dermatology 1973;11(1):33-37
Two cases of inetastatic tumor of the skin were reported with literature review. One case, aged 67 years male, had a seven year history of multiple nolular lesions On the abdorninal wall. Histopathological findings were compatible with adenocarcinoma. Other case, aged 57 years male, who had a episode of subtotal gastrectomy, under dingnosis of stomach cancer four years ago, had a one and half year history of multiple nodular lesions on the face. Histopathological findings were compatible with fibrosis at first biopsy but confirmed with undifferential carcinoma after five months, These metastatic tumors of the skin were considered to be originated from the stomach in view of clinical and histopathological findings.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1975;13(3):217-221
Ectodermal dysplasia tends to fall into two groups, the hidrotic and anhidrotic fo rms. Each type has a seperate geneologic origin and distinct clinical manifestation. The hidrotic form usually results from the action of an autosomal dominant gene, whereas the anhidrotic form appears to be deterrnined by the action of a sex linked recessive gene. In the hidrotic form the main clinical manifestations are dystrophic nails, defects of hair shaft and hyperkeratosis of the palms and soles. Recently one case with dystrophic nails, defects of hair and eyebrow and normaI sweating function without family history has been seen by us.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1978;16(3):215-221
The association of varicose vein, soft tissue and bony hypertrophy and. cutaneous hemangioma of the "port-wine" variety confined to one extremity was first reported in l900 by Klippel and Trenaunay, and then Weber. Their reports are generally considered today represent variations of the same syndrome. The vascular abnormalities may be any type of hemangioma, arteriovenous fistula, or lymphangioma appearing at birth or in infancy. The trophic changes almost always involve only one limb. The authors reported a case of Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber(K-T-W) syndrome in seven- year-old boy consisted of nevus flammeus associated with hypertrophy, elongation and heating sensation except varicose or arteriovenous fistula of the left leg.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1977;15(3):279-285
Psoriasis vulgaris is a common skin disease usually affects the traumatic joints and scalp in young adult. I reviewi 14l6 patients and the results were as follows; 1. Sex incidence was 991 in male and 425 in female(2.3: 1). 2. The peak age at onset of disease was between from 11 to 80 year of age. 3. The onset of psoriasis showed higher incidence in summer and lower in autumn. 4. Sites affected by psoriasis were most frequent in elbow joint(31.8%), 5. Koebner Phenomenon was found in 12.9% and the incubation period was 16 days on the average. 6. Family incidence was found in 198 cases(13.9%). 7. Joint pain was associated in 155 cases(10.9%), mainly in knee joint. 8. Nail involvement was in 84 cases(5.9). 9. Mucous membrane involvement was in 103 cases(7. 2% ). 10. Other skin diseases in those study were variable but the predominated in neurodermatitis, ll. A significant difference between man and woman for the medication, man was treated by specialist while the woman was medicated by pharmacist advised 12. Approximately half of the cases(56.6%) were ignorant for psoriasis. 13. A significant difference between man and woman about psychiatric problem, was observed. The man had a sought of incurability while the woman had anxiety for the life threaten.

To take advantage of hypertrichosis, one of the side effcct of minoxidil, is used as a application to male pattern baldness and alopecia areata. Recently 101 Hair Regrowth Liniment which is a new hair growth stimulator from China is used in male pattern baldness, but its components, actions and side effects are exactly unknown. We experienced three cases of allergic contact dermatits one case due to minoxidil and others due to 101 Hair Regrowth Liniment which were confirmed by patch test.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1980;18(1):93-99
Bowen's disease may be defined as an intraepidermal squamous cell carcinoma of the skin whieh puraues a slow, relatively benign course but may progress into invasive carcinoma. We have experienced two female patients who had well demarcated, multicentric, brown to black colored flat-topped papules on the vulva with histopathologic features of intraepidermal squamous cell carcinoma but showed entireIy different clinicaI appearance from Bowen's disease. For differentiation from extramammary Paget's disease, PAS stain and mucicarmine stain were done but not reacted to them, Both cases were diagnosed as multicentric pigmented Bowen's disease, and in case 2, regression occured after local appIication of 5-fluorouracil cream. A conservative approach to managment of these lesions is suggested. We have experienced peculiar entities and literatures were reviewed.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1982;20(5):795-799
Tinea barbae is one of the relatively rare chronic dermatophytosis of adult male, developing on the beard and moustache area of the face. We observed in a 50-year-old male patient who showed atypical clinical findings of tinea barbae. Initially, we impressed sycosis vulgaris, due to diffuse multiple pustular nodules with swelling on the beard area and both cheek of the face. We had treated him by antibiotics anri no improvement was noticed. On the 20th day from first visit, Trichophyton mentagrophytes was identified, and histopathologic exam revealed many spores and hyphae on the hair follicle. His skin lesions were almostly cleared after injestion of 5 months period of griseofulvin.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1979;17(6):441-450
This paper is studied for statistical anaIysis of 1181 cascs of positive V.D.R.L test among 24414 cases who were visited for annual Physical examination and in or outpatients in the Han Gang Sung Shim Hospital during 5 years and 7 months from January 1972 to July 1977. Clinical survey was carried out with 182 syphilitic patients in the Department of Dermatology, Han Gang Sung Shim Hospital during 19 months from January l976 to July 1977. The results were as follows; 1. Positive rate for V.D.R.L test was 4.8%, and there were statistically significant differences in annual incidence(P<0.01). Biologic false positive rate for V.D.R.L test was 26. 7%, and there were statistically aignificant differences in annual incidence(P<0.01). 2. Departmental analysis such as Dermatology, Urology, Physical Examination and others including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics etc. were carried out, the results showed that there were statistically significant departmental differences in V.D.R.L positive rate, but no in biologic false positive rate. 3. Biologic false positive rate was high inversely proportional to dilution titer, and that was a statistically significant difference(P<0.01). 4. 182 had syphilis, of whom 106(58. 2%) were latent syphilis and 74(40. 7%) were primary and secondary syphilis. 5. 119(65. 4%) among 182 syphilitic patients were male, most of patients(87.8%) occured in age from 21 to 40 years in the both sex. But there no statistically significant differences in age distribution between males and females. 6. The most predilection site of chancre was coronary sulcus(54.5%). 7. The lesions of secondary syphilis were composed of 18 cases(25%) of condyloma latum, 17 cases(23. 6%) of roseolar syphilid, 17 cases of papulo-squamous syphilid, 13 cases of alopecia syphilitica, 1 case of pustular syphilid, and 6 cases of others. 8. Married patients were nearly two times than single. In women, married. patients were much more(80. 3%) than single, and there were statistically significatnt differences(P<0.01). 9. There were no significant differences in S.T.S positive rate of spouse between infectious and latent syphilis. 10. Occupation distribution of male sexual partners were composed of 35 cases(29. 4%) of waitress, 28 cases(23. 5%) of call-girl, 20 cases(16. 8%) of office-girl, 17 cases of housewife, 12 cases of out of work, 7 cases of student. 1I. For patients with primary, secondary, and latent syphilis, treatment consiste of benzathine penicillin 2. 4 million units intramuscularly on the first visit and repeated three penicillin preparations at 7 days intervals in most of patients.

10.A Study of Topical Corticosteroid Effect on the Rat Skin Mast Cell.
Seok Ho KIM ; Eil Soo LEE ; Chin Yo CHANG
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1988;26(1):22-27
The effect of long-term topical application of corticosteroids on rat cutaneous mast cells was examined under the light microscopy. Two potent corticosteroids, 0.05% clobetasol-17-propionate and 0.25% desoxymethasone, produced a remarkable decresse greater than 50% of pretreatment mast cell number by two weeks. Wheress a less potent corticosteroid, 0.1% hydrocotisone-17-valerate, produced a remarkable decrease greater than 50% of pretreatment mast cell number by four weeks. All corticosteroids produced a remarkable decrease greater than 80% of pretreatment mast cell number by six weeks. These results suggest that long-term topical application of corticosteroids may have the deleterious effects on cutsneous mast cells.
