Objective To investigate the application value of Kodama surgery in breast cancer modified radical surgery.Methods Ninety patients with breast cancer modified radical surgery were randomly divided into two groups by stratified sampling method with 45 cases each.Study group was treated with Kodama surgery method.Control group was treated with Patey surgery method.The intraoperative and postoperative conditions were compared between two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the number of lymph node cleaning,intraoperative blood loss between two groups (P ＞ 0.05).The operation time in study group was longer than that in control group [(82.5 ± 13.1) min vs.(66.9 ± 11.2) min];the incidence of postoperative side upper limb disorder,abnormal sensation in study group was lower than that in control group [6.7％(3/45) vs.42.2％ (19/45),4.4％ (2/45) vs.22.2％(10/45)],and there were significant differences (P ＜ 0.01 or ＜ 0.05).The incidence of light and heavy pectoralis major muscle atrophy in study group was lower than that in control group [4.4％(2/45) vs.31.1％(14/45) and 2.2％(1/45) vs.37.8％ (17/45)],and there was significant difference (P ＜0.01).Conclusion Kodama function nerve preservation surgery in breast cancer modified radical surgery has higher application value.

Objective To evaluate the effects of three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT) on the local control and survival of patients with local recurrence or metastasis in colorectal cancer. Methods Twenty-three patients with local recurrence or metastasis in colorectal cancer were irradiated by 3DCRT. The regimen was: total dose 40-45?Gy, 5-7?Gy/f, 1f/2d. Results Of the 23 patients, 8 achieved CR and 9 PR with a total response rate of 74%(17/23). The overall 1-, 2-and 3-year survival rates were 78%,52% and 30%. Conclusion 3DCRT is able to prolong the survival and improve the life quality of patients with local recurrence or metastasis in colorectal cancer.

Objective　To study the plasticity of hippocampal formation in epilepsy.Methods　The optical density (OD)of synaptophysin positive immunoreactive product was examined by image pattern analysis instrument in hippocampus of pentylenetetrazol induced kindling epileptic rats. The examined areas included CA1,CA3 and the dentate gyrus.Results　The OD of synaptophysin positive immunoreactive product in hippocampal formation of kindling group was higher than the controls,especially in the mossy fiber layer of the area CA3 and the inner molecular layer in the dentate gyrus. Conclusion　The change of synaptophysin resulted from kindling, it also could result in the molecular elements of kindling maintenance.

Objective To investigate the effect of Gardiner bacteria infection on preterm delivery and changes of endocrine hor-mone levels.Methods Application of Gardiner bacteria fluorescent marker detection kit in 120 cases of suspected Gardiner bacteria infection pregnant women with immunofluorescence assay,and the levels of serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol (E2),progesterone (P)were measured at the same time,90 cases of non maternal Gardiner bacteria infec-tion were enrolled as control.Results After the treatment,98 cases of pregnant women with Gardiner bacteria infection should ex-perienced premature delivery (24-37 week),accounted for 81.67%,compared with the normal pregnant women were statistically significant (P <0.05);and 22 cases of Gardiner bacteria infection pregnant women after treatment no premature birth,accounted for 18.33%,and to all pregnant women infected Gardiner bacteria and experiencing preterm delivery and the control group levels of endocrine hormone were determined,compared the results of FSH,LH,found no significant differences(P >0.05),E2 increased,P decreased,changed significantly (P <0.05 ).Conclusion The probability of premature delivery in women infected with Gardiner bacteria is significantly higher than that of normal pregnant women,at the same time the secretion of hormone changes,so dealing with pre pregnancy and early pregnancy should carry owt Gardiner bacteria examination.

AIM: To observe the effect on visual quality by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) warm-reinforcing method for early idiopathic macular epiretinal membrane(IMEM).METHODS: Totally 21 patients (21 eyes) diagnosed as early IMEM with spleen-kidney yang deficiency were treated by Gubenmingmu powder for 2mo.The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA), the contrast sensitivity and the modified vision quality of questionnaire score were detected to compare the life influence of pretherapy with posttherapy in visual changes.RESULTS: The BCVA were separately 0.24±0.07、0.22±0.06、0.27±0.08 in the treating time of 1, 2 and 5mo.Contrast sensitivity function in special frequencies of 6,12 and 18c/d increased than pretherapy (P<0.01), those of 3c/d were no statistically significant (P>0.05).Scales of night fixation difficulty, guidepost difficulty, TV font difficulty, satisfaction, annoyance, understanding, newspaper easiness had significant differences(P<0.01), while the rest of the scales had no significant differences(P>0.05).CONCLUSION: The TCM warm-reinforcing method could improve the visual function of IMEM patients and improve patients` quality of life.

Objective 7 cases of thoracic spinal cord injury without radiographic abnormality (SCIWORA) were analyzed to elevate the level of diagnosis and treatment.Methods The type of spinal cord injury were classified into complete injury in 2 and incomplete injury in 5 according to Frankel. 5 cases had MRI examination. Conservative therapy was adopted in 5, and operation was programmed in 2.Results 4 cases recovered completely , 2 cases recovered partly , and 1 case had no recovery.Conclusion MRI provides reliable foundation for diagnosis and treatment to thoracic SCIWORA. The result is satisfactory in those incomplete injury.

Objective To explore the curative effect of stereotactic conformal radiotherapy (SCR) for extracranial tumors. Methods Eighty-six patients with extracranial tumors underwent SCR from May 1997 to August 2002. The clinical target volume (CTV) of tumors ranged from 0.2 cm3 to 232 cm3, with a mean of 27.6 cm3. The prescribed dose to the planning target volume (PTV) was 3～12 Gy (mean,5.3 Gy),which were prescribed in 1～10 fractions. Results No patient died during the treatment. Karnofsky performance scores (KPS) ranged 10～90 (mean,60) and 20～100 (mean,82) before and after the treatment. Follow-up for 1～5 years showed complete remittence (CR) in 25 cases, partial remittence (PR) in 49 cases, no change in 9 cases, and progressed in 3 cases. Conclusions SCR is an effective method in the management of extracranial tumors.

The author thought that the meaning of Chinese emotionality is not only the emotional reaction of oneself, but in- volves comprehensive features of individual emotional response, dealing with matters and behaviors, and it is closely relat- ed to the cultivation of morality and human nature and relative to human nature and morality. Chinese opinion is different from western psychologists’thoughts.
