Objective:To investigate the distribution of four polyphyllins in different parts of paris polyphylla by means of compa-ring the contents of relative constituents in paridis rhizome and fibril to provide reference for comprehensive exploitation and utilization of paris polyphylla. Methods:Paris polyphylla samples were collected from Wudang mountain area and Shennongjia forest area. The contents of main secondary metabolites including polyphillinⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅵ andⅦin paridis rhizome and fibril were evaluated by HPLC. Results:The four polyphyllins contents had obvious differences in different parts of polyphylla. The total content of four polyphillins in fibril was significantly higher than that in rhizome. Diosgenin compositions had no significant difference in the two parts, and the con-tents of pennogenin compositions in fibril showed significantly higher than those in rhizome. Conclusion:As for the main chemical com-positions contained in polyphylla, there is chemistry equality between fibril and rhizome, thus both of them can be used for medicine. However, as for the contents of four steroidal saponins, the distribution of secondary metabolites has obvious difference between fibril and rhizome, and the result may be caused by steroidal saponins transferred to rhizome for storage after the synthesis in fibril.

Diphylleia sinensis is the dried rhizome of Diphylleia sinensis H.L.Li., which belongs to the subfamily of podophyl-lum ( berberidaceae ) , which is always recorded in monograph on materia medica in all ages as one of traditional Chinese medicine“Guijiu” herbal resources .Based on the previous researches in our laboratory and the literatures , the research progress in pharmacog-nosy, chemical constituent, endogeny fungus, quality control, pharmacology and the other aspects of Diphylleia sinensis were systemati-cally reviewed for the comprehensive utilization of its resources , and the development prospects of Diphylleia sinensis was also discussed in the paper , which can provide complete references and ideas for the rational utilization and development of Diphylleia sinensis.

Objective:To investigate the clinical and imaging features of basal ganglia germinoma in children and adolescents, so as to improve the accuracy of early diagnosis. Methods:The clinical symptoms and imaging findings of 10 cases of basal ganglia germinoma diagnosed by surgical examination or diagnostic radiotherapy in Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Medical College of Shanghai Jiaotong University from January 2010 to December 2019 were analyzed retrospectively. Results:There were 9 males and 1 female, aged from 5 to 15 years, with an average age of 9.7 years. There were 10 cases of limb weakness or mild hemiplegia, 1 case of headache and vomiting, and 1 case of extrapyramidal tract sign. There were 9 cases of computed tomography (CT) examination, 5 cases of high density, 4 cases of mixed density, and 3 cases of intrafocal calcification. 10 cases of routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination, MR T1-weighted imaging (T1WI): 5 cases of low signal, 3 cases of slightly low signal, 1 case of equal low signal, 1 case of equal slightly low signal; MR T2-weighted imaging (T2WI): 3 cases of high signal, 5 cases of slightly high signal, 2 cases of high and low mixed signal; T2 fluid attenuated inversion recovery (T2FLAIR): 1 case of low signal, 2 cases of slightly high signal, 1 case of iso-high signal, 5 cases of high signal, 1 case of high and low mixed signal; Diffusion weighted imaging (DWI): 2 cases of low signal, 1 case of equal signal, 1 case of equal slightly high signal, 4 cases of slightly high signal, 2 cases of high signal; 1 case of functional imaging susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI): 1 case of low signal; 10 cases of MRI enhancement: 2 cases of no enhancement, 5 cases of mild enhancement, 3 cases of moderate/obvious enhancement, and the enhancement methods can be seen in spot, patch, mass and ring enhancement; Functional imaging magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) in 2 cases: 1 case had slender middle cerebral artery, fewer branch arteries than the opposite side, and 1 case showed no obvious abnormality; 2 cases of positron emission (PET)-CT: the metabolism of methionine (MET) on the affected side was significantly increased in 2 cases. Conclusions:Germinoma in the basal ganglia of children and adolescents are more common in men, with weakness or mild hemiplegia as the main symptom. The imaging findings have certain characteristics. Imaging findings combined with relevant clinical data can improve the accuracy of early diagnosis of germinoma in the basal ganglia.

Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics of severe adenovirus pneumonia with bacterial infection in children, so as to provide clinical evidences for early diagnosis and reliable treatment. Methods:A total of 72 pediatric cases with severe adenovirus pneumonia admitted to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the First People′s Hospital of Chenzhou from January 2018 to August 2019 were included. The clinical features, laboratory and imaging data, efficacy of the treatments and prognosis were investigated retrospectively.Patients were divided into with bacterial infection group and without bacterial infection group. The clinical characteristics were analyzed. Results:Among the 72 children, there were 54 males and 18 females, aging from 3 months to 5 years, including 37cases with bacterial infection and 35 cases without bacterial infection.Compared with the group without bacterial infection, the group with bacterial infection had longer heat duration and hospital stay [12.0 (10.0, 18.5) days vs.10.0 (9.0, 12.0) days; 6.0(4.0, 7.0) days vs.11.0(6.5, 16.0) days, P<0.05], the incidences of diarrhea and hepatomegaly were higher[35.1% (13/37) vs.14.3%(5/35); 45.9%(17/37)vs.8.6%(3/35), P<0.05], the proportion of five lobes involved in lung imaging was higher [91.8% (34/37) vs. 57.1%(20/35), P<0.05]. The incidences of complications with respiratory failure, hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, and bronchiolitis obliterans in the group with bacterial infection were significantly higher than those of without bacterial infection group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:For children under 2 years old age with severe adenovirus pneumonia, there are prolonged high fever and extensive pulmonary lesions. We should be highly alert to the combination of bacterial infection and timely anti-infection therapy.Children with severe adenovirus pneumonia with bacterial infection have severe clinical manifestations and many complications with respiratory failure, hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, and bronchiolitis obliterans.
