OBJECTIVE:
To compared the effect of different drying methods on drying characteristics, water effective diffusion coefficient and biased activation energy of Codonopsis Radix and to definite 3 different drying methods of varying temperature(45-55-60, 60-55-45, 60-45-60℃) and 3 constant temperature(45, 55, 60℃) on drying characteristic curves of different commercial grades of Codonopsis Radix.
METHODS:
Used R2, χ2 and RMSE as evaluation indexes, 10 typical drying kinetic models were selected to fit the drying curve of Codonopsis Radix, and the effective moisture diffusion coefficient and biased activation energy under different drying method were calculated.
RESULTS:
It was found that the Midilli model could well describe the drying process of different commercial grades of Codonopsis Radix, the water ratio of Codonopsis Radix showed an exponential downward trend. If the initial drying temperature was set above 55℃, the maximum drying rate could be reached within 2 h. And commercial grades temperature had certain influence on the effective water diffusion coefficient of Codonopsis Radix. Under the same temperature condition, the average speed of moisture migration during drying of Codonopsis Radix was:first-class> second-class>third-class, and the Deffwere 10.433 9×10-8, 5.545 2×10-8, 2.249 6×10-8·m2·s, respectively. The calculated bias activation energy of Codonopsis Radix was 2.943×104-4.378×104 J·mol-1, the order of bias activation energy of different drying methods was as follows:60-55-45℃ variable temperature<60-45-60℃ variable temperature<45-55-60℃ variable temperature<55℃ constant temperature<60℃ constant temperature <45℃ constant temperature, which indicated that the moisture in the medicinal materials was more likely to evaporate and overflow and consumes less energy than the constant temperature drying. In particular, the bias activation energy of 60-55-45℃ drying method was 77.54% and 81.86% of the other 2 variable temperature drying methods, which were 67.22%, 75.13% and 74.26% of the 3 kinds of constant temperature drying.
CONCLUSION
The use of cooling mode in the drying process can save more time and energy, and can provide experimental basis for the improvement of drying technology and optimization of drying process of Codonopsis Radix.

Objective:To evaluate the postoperative symmetry of soft and hard tissues in patients with unilateral old zygomatic fractures. Methods:A retrospective analysis of patients who underwent computer-assisted open reduction and internal fixation for unilateral old zygomatic complex fractures. The spiral CT data of the patient before and 1 year after operation was imported into ProPlan CMF 3.0 software to segment the skin and bone STL models. Eleven sets of soft tissue landmarks and 10 sets of hard tissue landmarks in the middle of the face were marked, with a coordinated system for measurement established. The asymmetry index (AI) between each mark point was calculated. The data were expressed by Mean±SD. Paired t-test was used to compare whether there was a statistical difference in the AI of each landmark before and after operation. P<0.05 was considered the difference to be statistically significant. At the same time, the study subjects were selected from the Chinese craniomaxillofacial three-dimensional morphological database. Microsoft Excel 2017 software was used to draw the AI baseline data map of common people. The patients’ soft and hard tissue landmarks AI (before and 1 year after surgery) were included in the AI baseline map of common people, and the patient’s soft and hard tissue symmetry was evaluated. Results:A total of 30 patients were included in the study, including 17 males and 13 females, age range from 18 to 55 years old, with an average age of 25.2 years. The preoperative hard tissue AI was 4.5±4.1, and the hard tissue AI was 2.0±1.7 one year after surgery, and the difference in the AI of each hard tissue landmark before and 1 year after operation was statistically significant( P<0.01 or <0.05). The preoperative soft tissue AI was 4.5±4.0, and the soft tissue AI was 2.3±1.9 one year after surgery, and the difference in the AI of each soft tissue landmark before and 1 year after operation was statistically significant( P<0.01 or <0.05). 50 common people were selected from the total database, including 25 men and 25 women, aged from 18 to 57 years old, with an average of 23.8 years old. The hard tissue landmark AI was 2.1±2.0, and the soft tissue landmark AI was 2.0±1.9. The hard tissue landmarks AI of patients 1 year after operation were all within the symmetrical baseline value, with good symmetry. The AI values of some soft tissue landmarks were higher than the symmetrical baseline value, indicating poor symmetry. Conclusion:The three-dimensional symmetry of the soft and hard tissues of patients with unilateral old zygomatic complex fractures after surgery was significantly improved compared with that before surgery. Compared with the normal range of the database, the postoperative hard tissue has better symmetry, but the postoperative soft tissue has poor symmetry.

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for the resectable locally advanced adenocarcinoma at the gastroesophageal junction. Methods:A retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze 86 patients with resectable locally advanced Siewert type Ⅱ and Ⅲ adenocarcinoma at the gastroesophageal junction (T 3-4N +M 0) who were admitted to the Panzhihua Central Hospital of Sichuan Province from January 2013 to January 2016. All the patients were divided into the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group [preoperative XELOX regimen (oxaliplatin + capecitabine) adjuvant chemotherapy + surgery + postoperative XELOX regimen adjuvant chemotherapy, 46 cases] and non-neoadjuvant chemotherapy group (surgery + postoperative XELOX regimen adjuvant chemotherapy, 40 cases) according to whether neoadjuvant chemotherapy was performed before surgery. The total gastrectomy + Roux-en-Y esophagojejunostomy + D 2 lymphadenectomy or proximal subtotal gastrectomy + esophageal gastric remnant anastomosis + D 2 lymphadenectomy were applied to patients by the same team of doctors. The observation indicators included treatment situations, results of postoperative pathological examination and prognosis in the two groups. Results:In the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group, 25 patients (54.3%) had partial remission (PR), 21 patients (45.7%) had stable disease (SD), the clinical response rate was 54.3% (25/46), tumor control rate was 100.0% (46/46), and clinical stage reduction rate was 37.0% (17/46). Compared with the non-neoadjuvant chemotherapy group, the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group had a higher R 0 resection rate [100.0% (46/46) vs. 80.0% (32/40), χ2 = 4.024, P = 0.045], and in the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group, the pathological complete remission [tumor regression grade (TRG) 0] rate was 13.0% (6/46), and the overall pathological response (TRG 1 + TRG 0) rate was 56.5% (26/46). The postoperative pathological examination showed that the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group and the non-neoadjuvant chemotherapy group had statistically significant differences in the longest tumor diameter, vessel carcinoma embolus, perineural invasion, and pathological TNM staging (all P < 0.05). However, there was no statistical difference in the total humber of lymph nodes, the number of positive lymph nodes, pathological T stage, N stage, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression in specimens (all P > 0.05). In the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group, 6 patients had grade 3 adverse reactions, and chemotherapy was suspended or the dose was adjusted. Adverse reactions in the blood system included the red blood cells reduction, white blood cells reduction and thrombocytopenia. Other adverse reactions included nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite. There were no deaths related to radiotherapy. In the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group, the median tumor-free survival time was 20 months (5-36 months), and the 1-year and 3-year tumor-free survival rates were 89.5% and 52.4%, respectively; the median postoperative overall survival time was 20 months (9-36 months), and the 1-year and 3-year overall survival rates were 91.0% and 48.0%, respectively; 12 patients had tumor recurrence. In the non-neoadjuvant chemotherapy group, the median tumor-free survival time was 19 months (10-35 months), and the 1-year and 3-year tumor-free survival rates were 87.3% and 30.0%, respectively. The median postoperative overall survival time was 20 months (10-35 months), the 1-year and 3-year overall survival rates were 87.0% and 18.6%, respectively; 14 patients had tumor recurrence. There was a statistical difference in the tumor-free survival between the two groups ( χ2 = 4.522, P = 0.03), and there was no statistical difference in the overall survival between the two groups ( χ2 = 3.717, P > 0.05). Conclusions:XELOX regimen neoadjuvant chemotherapy is safe and effective for patients with resectable locally advanced Siewert type Ⅱ and Ⅲ adenocarcinoma at the gastroesophageal junction. It can decrease the tumor clinical stage and increase the R 0 resection rate and tumor-free survival rate.

In this study, eight-month-old ectomycorrhizae of Tuber borchii with Corylus avellana were synthesized to explore the influence of T. borchii colonization on the soil properties and the microbial communities associated with C. avellana during the early symbiotic stage. The results showed that the bacterial richness and diversity in the ectomycorrhizae were significantly higher than those in the control roots, whereas the fungal diversity was not changed in response to T. borchii colonization. Tuber was the dominant taxon (82.97%) in ectomycorrhizae. Some pathogenic fungi, including Ilyonectria and Podospora, and other competitive mycorrhizal fungi, such as Hymenochaete, had significantly lower abundance in the T. borchii inoculation treatment. It was found that the ectomycorrhizae of C. avellana contained some more abundant bacterial genera (e.g., Rhizobium, Pedomicrobium, Ilumatobacter, Streptomyces, and Geobacillus) and fungal genera (e.g., Trechispora and Humicola) than the control roots. The properties of rhizosphere soils were also changed by T. borchii colonization, like available nitrogen, available phosphorus and exchangeable magnesium, which indicated a feedback effect of mycorrhizal synthesis on soil properties. Overall, this work highlighted the interactions between the symbionts and the microbes present in the host, which shed light on our understanding of the ecological functions of T. borchii and facilitate its commercial cultivation.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2018;34(1):122-131
In this study, the mobilomes of nine teleost species were annotated by bioinformatics methods. Both of the mobilome size and constitute displayed a significant difference in 9 species of teleost fishes. The species of mobilome content ranking from high to low were zebrafish, medaka, tilapia, coelacanth, platyfish, cod, stickleback, tetradon and fugu. Mobilome content and genome size were positively correlated. The DNA transposons displayed higher diversity and larger variation in teleost (0.50% to 38.37%), was a major determinant of differences in teleost mobilomes, and hAT and Tc/Mariner superfamily were the major DNA transposons in teleost. RNA transposons also exhibited high diversity in teleost, LINE transposons accounted for 0.53% to 5.75% teleost genomic sequences, and 14 superfamilies were detected. L1, L2, RTE and Rex retrotransposons obtained significant amplification. While LTR displayed low amplification in most teleost with less than 2% of genome coverages, except in zebrafish and stickleback, where LTR reachs 5.58% and 2.51% of genome coverages respectively. And 6 LTR superfamilies (Copia, DIRS, ERV, Gypsy, Ngaro and Pao) were detected in the teleost, and Gypsy exhibits obvious amplication among them. While the SINE represents the weakest ampification types in teleost, only within zebrafish and coelacanth, it represents 3.28% and 5.64% of genome coverages, in the other 7 teleost, it occupies less than 1% of genomes, and tRNA, 5S and MIR families of SINE have a certain degree of amplification in some teleosts. This study shows that the teleost display high diversity and large variation of mobilome, there is a strong correlation with the size variations of genomes and mobilome contents in teleost, mobilome is an important factor in determining the teleost genome size.
