AIM: To observe the relationship between the reversal effect of 4 alkaloids of TCM on expression of P170 being obtained multi-drug resistance to mouse S180 tumor cell induced by chemotherapy protocol of PFC and the adjustment of the cell apoptosis. And to discuss the difference among alkaloids of TCM on reversion of being obtained multi-drug resistance in clinic. To improve the curative effect thereby. METHODS: By the methods of less dosage of Chemotherapy PFC,to set up the mouse models of multi-drug resistance of S180 tumor cell.At the same time to give the mouse matrine, terandrine, oxymatrine and berberine hydrooh loride for 2 weeks and then to observe the P170,TOPOⅡ,Fas and apoposis by flow cytometry. RESULTS: Matrine and terandrine could obviously reduce the expression of P170,the activation of TOPOⅡ induced by Chemotherapy and increase the ratio of the express of Fas and the apopsis of drug resistance to tumor cell. And berberine hydrochloride could obviously reduce the expression of TOPOⅡ. CONCLUSION: The adjustment to the apoposis of tumor cell by matrine and terandrine is related to the reversion of being obtained multi-drug resistance to tumor cell' expression, besides the different degree

Objective To study the factors affecting the activities of daily life (AOL) of patients after the first stroke of cerebral infarction in order to formulate the intervention strategy for improving the capability of ADL of patients. Method A total of 149 patients with the first stroke of cerebral infarction admitted from Oct. 2008 to Dec.2008 were enrolled in this study. The demographics of patients, cerebral infarction risk factors, apopletic score as per National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS), white blood cell count (WBC) and plasma glucose (PG) were recorded on the first day of admission, and many other laboratory examinations were done on the next morning. The occurrences of infection in lung and urinary tract, and atrial fibrillation were recorded during hospi-talization. The NIHSS score and score of Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) were taken within 24 hours after admission, on the 14th day and at the end of the third month after cerebral infarction respectively. Barthel index (BI) was taken in the second week as well as at the end of third month by follow-up in the OPD or by telephone. The correlation analysis and multiple linear stepwise regression analysis were used to find the risk factors. Results The PG level, WBC count and NIHSS score were independently associated with ADL in the second week as well as at the end of the third month after cerebral infarction. Besides, the urinary tract infection during hospital stay was also independently associated with ADL at the end of the third month after cerebral infarction. Conclusions The plasma glucose level, WBC count, NIHSS score and urinary tract infection are the risk factors. Positive measures should be taken to control these risk factors so as to improve the capability of ADL of the patients after cerebral infarction.

AIM To study the pharmacokinetics of 20(R)-ginsenoside Rg3 (GRg3) in human. METHODS High-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection method was used in this study. RESULTS The pharmacokinetics of GRg3 in 14 healthy volunteers were investigated. After a single oral dose of 3.2 mg.kg-1 in 8 male volunteers, the plasma concentration-time course fitted well to a two-compartment open model, with the following pharmacokinetic parameters: Tmax (0.66±0.10) h, Cmax (16±6) ng.mL-1, T1/2α (0.46±0.12) h, T1/2β (4.9±1.1) h, T1/2(Ka) (0.28±0.04) h, AUC0-∞ (77±26) ng.mL-1.h. No kinetic analysis was made after an oral dose of 0.8 mg.kg-1 GRg3 in 6 other volunteers because of the low concentration, but a good correlation between Cmax and dosage of the two groups was found. CONCLUSION The absorption of GRg3 was rapid in man, and its elimination was rapid after oral administration of ginsenoside Rg3. The pharmacokinetic results shows that it exhibited first order kinetic characteristics.

Objective To analyze the correlation between 18F-FDG SUV and immunohistochemical index including GLUT1, Ki-67, MVD, survivin and cyclinA in non-snall-cell lung cancer. Methods Thirty-three patients with NSCLC underwent preoperative PET/CT examination and surgical operation. All patients were divided into two groups according to the size of tumor (cutoff=3 cm), metastasis of mediastinal or hilar lymph nodes or not, and histological types of the cancer, respectively. The expression of GLUT1, Ki-67, MVD, survivin and cyclinA were estimated with SP immunohistochemical technique, and were analyzed statistically to reveal the correlation to FDG SUV. Results The rate of positive expression of GLUT1, Ki-67 and CD34 were 66.67%, 72.73% and 100%, respectively. The mean value of CD34 in all 33 patients was 12.6±2.9 (12-56). The rate of positive expression of survivin was 84.85%, and the corresponding data of cyclinA was 27.27%. Conclusion There is linear correlation between FDG PET SUV and GLUT1, but not between FDG PET SUV and Ki-67, MVD, survivin and cyclinA. The expressions of GLUT1, Ki-67, MVD, survivin and cyclinA are not related with the size of tumor, nor metastasis of lymph nodes. The expression of GLUT1 and Ki-67 is related with histological types of the cancer, but not with MVD, survivin and cyclinA.
