The Ebola virus belongs to the Filovirus family, which causes Ebola hemorrhagic fever (mortality, 25%-90%). An outbreak of infection by the Ebola virus is sweeping across West Africa, leading to high mortality and worldwide panic. The Ebola virus has caused a serious threat to public health, so intensive scientific studies have been carried out. Several vaccines (e.g., rVSV-ZEBOV, ChAd3-ZEBOV) have been put into clinical trials and antiviral drugs (e.g., TKM-Ebola, ZMAPP) have been administered in the emergency setting to patients infected by the Ebola virus. Here, recent advances in vaccines and drugs against the Ebola virus are reviewed.

Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(03):-
Chitosan, a linear polysaccharide, is obtained by chitin N deacetylation. Its ?(1 4) glucosidic bond is not stable and breaks easily in acid condition. In this study, chitosan of different molecular weights(MW) was prepared by acetic acid degradation. Chitosan was dissolved at 3%(w/v) concentration in 1%(v/v) acetic acid and the solution was dried at 50 degree C. We get chitosan membranes of different MW after neutralization with aqueous NaOH. The membranes are transparent, elastic and have good intensity. The permeability studies on chitosan membranes were going on with a permeable install made by our laboratory. It was determined by the transmission concentration of NaCl, L Tyr, glucose and calf albumin. We compared the permeability property with different MW chitosan membranes. The result implied that all of the four samples could permeate through the chitosan membranes. And the permeability property of the membrane increased with the chitosan MW decreaseing.

Objective:To evaluate the relationship betweenparacardial adipose tissue (PAT) volume, body mass index (BMI) and severe coronary artery stenosis in young people by quantitative measurement of 256-slice spiral CT.
Methods: A total of 150 patients younger than 45 years and received coronary angiography (CAG) in our hospital were divided into 2 groups:Lesion group, the patients with severe main coronary branch stenosis and Control group, patients with normal coronary artery. n=75 in each group. The height, body weight and BMI were recorded in all patients;imaging data was uploaded to the workstation to calculate the volumes ofepicardiumadipose tissue (EAT) volume, pericardial outsideadipose tissue volume and PAT volume, the correlation among 3 parameters were analyzed respectively.
Results:Compared with Control group, Lesion group had increased BMI (28.169±2.203) kg/m2 vs (24.960±3.041) kg/m2 and PAT volume (178.676±3.041) ml vs (99.0616±3.041) ml, all P<0.05. Compared with Control group,no matter male or female, Lesion group had larger PAT volume, P<0.01.EAT volume was related to pericardial outside adipose tissue volume (r=0.837, P<0.001) and PAT volume (r=0.971, P<0.001);pericardial outside adipose tissue volume was related to PAT volume (r=0.944, P<0.001).
Conclusion:PAT volume and BMI were obviously correlated to severe coronary artery stenosis in young people.

The effect of amygdalin joint hydroxysafflor yellow A (HSYA) on the endplate chondrocytes derived from intervertebral discs of rats induced by IL-1beta and the possible mechanism were studied and explored. Chondrocytes were obtained from endplate of one-month SD rat intervertebral discs and cultured primary endplate chondrocytes. After identification, they were divided into normal group, induced group, amygdalin group, HSYA group and combined group. CCK-8 kit was adopted to detect the proliferation of the endplate chondrocytes. FCM was measured to detect the apoptosis. Real-time PCR method was adopted to observe the mRNA expression of Aggrecan, Col 2 alpha1, Col 10 alpha1, MMP-13 and the inflammatory cytokines IL-1beta. The protein expression of Col II, Col X was tested through immunofluorescence. Compared with the normal group, the proliferation of the endplate chondrocytes decreased while the apoptosis increased (P < 0.05). With down regulation of the mRNA expressions of Aggrecan, Col 2 alpha1 and up regulation of the mRNA expressions of Col 10 alpha1, MMP-13, IL-1beta (P < 0.05), the protein expression of Col II decreased while the protein expression of Col X increased. Compared with the induced group, amygdalin group, HSYA group, the combined group could inhibit the apoptosis and promote the proliferation (P < 0.05). They could increase the mRNA expressions of Aggrecan and Col 2 alpha1 while decrease the mRNA expressions of Col 10 alpha1, MMP-13 and IL-1beta (P < 0.05). They could also enhance the protein expression of Col II while reduce the protein expression of Col X. The effect of the combined group was significantly better than that of amygdalin and HSYA. Amygdalin joint HSYA could inhibit the degeneration of the endplate chondrocytes derived from intervertebral discs of rats induced by IL-1beta and better than the single use of amygdalin or HSYA.
