There existed animal ethical issues in the process of functional experiment including poor breeding environment before animal experiment, insufficient prepare before class, not standard experimental operation, less attention paid to the study of anesthesia, disposal on animals after the experiment. Based on the analysis of these issues and combined with the thought of respect for animals′rights and attention to animal welfare, the authors put forward suggestions from the aspects including the schools′active attention and support, curriculum, standardizing the experimental design and operation steps, improving the animal experiment teachers′ethical consciousness, cul-tivating the students′experimental animal ethical consciousness. In addition, this paper put forward the thinking of further strengthening education:the domestic medical colleges generally need to strengthen medical ethics educa-tion, and should adopt various forms to cultivate medical students′medical ethics quality of treasuring life.

Objective To study the therapeutic value of Mongolian drug hatagaqi-7 for wound healing of diabetic ulcers in rats and preliminarily explore its molecular mechanism in regulating hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α).Methods Adult male SD rats were randomly divided into control, diabetes,Mongolian drug, and cytokine groups.Except in the control group, the other three groups were treated with an intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin to establish the diabetes model.Ulcer wounds were prepared in the mouse back of the four groups. One week later, the Mongolian drug group was treated with hatagaqi-7,and the cytokine group was treated with recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor for 2 consecutive weeks.Fasting blood glucose(FBG),wound area, wound pathology, expression levels of advanced glycation end products(AGEs),receptor of AGE(RAGE),HIF-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),secreted levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interferon-γ(IFN-γ),and malondialdehyde(MDA),and the total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)were assessed. Results FBG of diabetes,Mongolian drug and cytokine groups was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),and no significant difference was observed among the three groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the ulcer wound area, scope of unrepaired tissue, expression levels of AGEs and RAGE,and secreted levels of IL-1β,IFN-γ,and MDA in wound tissue of the diabetes group were increased, and T-AOC and expression levels of HIF-1α and VEGF of the diabetes group were decreased(P<0.05).Compared with the diabetes group, the ulcer wound area, scope of unrepaired tissue, expression levels of AGEs and RAGE,and secreted levels of IL-1β,IFN-γ,and MDA in wound tissue of Mongolian drug and cytokine groups were decreased,T-AOC and expression levels of HIF-1α and VEGF in Mongolian drug and cytokine groups were increased(P<0.05),and indexes of the Mongolian drug group were better than those of the cytokine group. Conclusions Mongolian drug hatagaqi-7 promotes ulcer wound healing in diabetic rats, the inhibiton of AGE and RAGE expression and induction of HIF-1 α are the possible molecular mechanism.

To improve the blast resistance of elite rice restorer line Fuhui 673, 3 blast resistance genes Pi-1, Pi-9 and Pi-kh were introduced into Fuhui 673 from a good-quality restorer line Jinhui 1059 through 3 successive backcrosses followed by one selfing using the technique of marker-assisted selection. Ten near-isogenic lines (NILs) of Fuhui 673 carrying the 3 introduced resistance genes were created. Genotype analysis using 68 SSR markers evenly distributed in the genome indicated that 92.96%-98.59% of the NILs' genetic background had been recovered to Fuhui 673. Both indoor and field resistance tests indicated that the NILs and their hybrids with sterile line Yixiang A were all resistant to rice blast, with resistance levels significantly higher than those of controls Fuhui 673 and hybrid Yiyou 673 (Yixiang A Fuhui 673). In addition, among the 10 hybrids between the NILs and Yixiang A, 2 showed significantly higher yield than and 4 displayed similar yield to that of control Yiyou 673, suggesting that most of the NILs retained the elite characteristics of Fuhui 673. Two new hybrid rice cultivars Liangyou 7283 and Jintaiyou 683 from NIL Line 9 showed high yield, good resistance to blast and moderate growth period in regional trial, suggesting that the NIL Line 9 has a good prospect for application.
