Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of sharp kernel reconstructed images for calcified plaque coronary artery stenosis with a dual-source CT.Methods 42 patients with suspected coronary disease underwent dual-source coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and coronary angiography (CAG).The CCTA images were respectively reconstructed by smooth kernel (I26f) and sharp kernel (I46f) reconstruction. The image noise, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) were measured, and then the calcified plaque noise of two groups reconstructed image was scored subjectively.A total of 56 vascular stenoses that caused by calcification were taken as the research object, according to the results of CAG as a golden standard. The ROC curves of two groups were drawn with moderate stenosis (more than or equal to 50%) and severe stenosis (more than or equal to 75%), and the corresponding sensitivity, specificity, and optimal threshold were obtained. Results The images of I46f group had higher noise [I46f:(45.43±9.00) HU;I26f:(31.43±5.55) HU;t=-8.58,P=0.000],lower SNR [I46f:(10.26±2.09) HU;I26f:(14.86±3.53) HU;t=7.28,P=0.000] and lower CNR[I46f:(14.04±4.51) HU;I26f:(20.80±7.18) HU;t=5.17,P=0.000],but the subjective scoring of calcified plaque of I46f group was better than that of I26f group(I46f:2.33±0.75;I26f:1.64±0.70,Z=-4.61,P=0.000).The ROC curves of two groups: with moderate stenosis(≥50%),area under the I46f curve(0.946) was larger than that of I26f group (0.935);to diagnose with the reconstructed image of group I46f,the optimal threshold was 55%,the specificity was 95.0%,and sensitivity was 88.9%;and for I26f group, the optimal threshold was 65%, the specificity was 90%, and sensitivity was 88.9%.With severe stenosis(≥75%), area under the I46f curve (0.927) was slightly larger than that of I26f group (0.924);to diagnose with the reconstructed image of group I46f,the optimal threshold was 77.5%,the specificity was 79.1%,and sensitivity was 92.3%;for I26f group, the optimal threshold was 85%, the specificity was 74.4%,and the sensitivity was 100%.Conclusion The I46f reconstruction image of dual-source CT has more advantageous than the I26f reconstruction image, and it is a better way to diagnosethe calcified coronary stenosis.

According to the requirements of the regulatory authorities, degree of modification (DP) should be included in the characterisation of the PEGylated protein drug substance, and is one of the critical quality attributes for quality control. In this study, based on the fundamental assumption that the refractive index (RI) signal and the ultraviolet (UV) signal of PEGylated protein are equal to the sum of the corresponding signal produced by the polyethylene glycol (PEG) and protein parts of the conjugates in their uncoupled state, we developed a method to determine the DP of PEGylated recombinant human growth hormone (inpegsomatropin). In this method, 20 μL of 1 mg·mL-1 human growth hormone (hGH) standard, 2 mg·mL-1 PEG reference substance and 1 mg·mL-1 drug substance solution were each injected to size exclusion chromatographic (SEC) column for separation, detected with ultraviolet and refractive index (UV-RI) detectors in series. Finally, the DP was calculated as the formula derived from the fundamental assumption. The developed SEC-UV-RI method showed good specificity, repeatability (RSD = 0.63%,

Piroxicam has polymorphism. Different crystalline forms can exhibit different physicochemical properties and biological activities. Analysis of the intermolecular interactions is essential to reveal the formation mechanism and differences of polymorphs. In this paper, Hirshfeld surface analysis and semi-empirical methods were used to calculate and analyze the intermolecular interactions in seven polymorphic forms of piroxicam. The results show that the Hirshfeld surface analysis method can clearly and intuitively reveal the intermolecular interactions, among which H…H, O…H/H…O and N…H/H…N interactions account for 95% of the total energy. There are differences in the proportion and distribution of the forces of different crystal forms. The energy calculation shows that the lattice energy of the hydrate is significantly lower than that of the anhydrous forms, and in the specific energy distribution, the contribution of the dispersion force is the most prominent. Further interaction energy analysis was found that within the distance of 3.8 Å from the center of the piroxicam molecule, different crystalline forms of piroxicam molecule have different interaction energies with surrounding molecules.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effectiveness of injectable tissue engineering to repair full-thickness meniscal defects.
METHODSFrom June 2008 to February 2009 full-thickness of meniscal defects were created in the anterior corner of goats, which with no blood supply, in a diameter of 2 mm. Then bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) was mixed with injectable calcium alginate gel to fill the defects. Other groups include the calcium alginate gel and empty group were served as control groups. At different time points, the animals were sacrificed and macroscopy, microscopy determination, electroscopy and MRI detection were performed to assess the outcomes of repairing.
RESULTSThe meniscal defects had been filled thoroughly in 16 weeks after operation with white, tough and elastic repair tissue similar to normal meniscal fibrocartilage in the tissue engineering groups. The repair tissue was mainly fibrochondrocytes in line with the calcium alginate fiber. Thick matrix secreted by the cells crammed the space between fibers. The view under electroscopy demonstrated that the microstructure of the repair tissue was normal and cells were in a fibrocartilage phenotype.
CONCLUSIONThe full-thickness meniscal defects in regions without blood supply can be reconstructed effectively with injectable tissue engineering.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effects of the no-flip procedure with the Chinese Shang Ring when circumcising adult males with redundant prepuce or phimosis, and to discuss its advantages and disadvantages.
METHODSUsing the no-flip Shang Ring technique, we performed circumcision for 167 adult males aged 18 -72 (mean 27.8) years with redundant prepuce or phimosis, and analyzed the clinical data, including the operation time, postoperative complications, ring-removal time, and postoperative appearance of the penis.
RESULTSComplete follow-up data of 94 cases (56.29%) were obtained. The mean operation time was (5.03 +/- 0.71) minutes and the average ring-removal time was (18.83 +/- 6.70) days. The primary postoperative complications were edema (35 cases [37.23%] at 2 weeks and 9 cases [9.57%] at 4 weeks), including 2 severe cases (2.13%), and infection (3 cases [3.19%]). The pain scores were 2.01 +/- 2.46 during the procedure and 4.52 +/- 2.53 at 24 hours postoperatively. Slipping of the outer ring occurred in 1 case, and delayed removal of the ring in 30 cases (31.91%).
CONCLUSIONAdult male circumcision with the no-flip Shang Ring technique is recommended for its short operation time, simple procedure, fewer postoperative complications, less pain, and better incision appearance.

This study is to investigate effects of genistein on rat femoral bone metabolic in vitro. Rat femoral tissues was isolated and randomly divided into two groups including control group and genistein (1 x 10(-5) mol x(-1)) group. Determinations of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, calcium content and osteoprotegerin (OPG), type I-collagen (Collagen-I), RANKL, Runx-2 and bone morphogenetic protein (BMP-2) mRNA expression were done by real-time PCR. The results showed that 1 x 10(-5) mol x L(-1) genistein could increase the activity of ALP and contents of Ca, regulate bone metabolism activity of OPG, RANKL, BMP-2, Collagen-I and Runx-2 mRNA expression level. Genistein can significantly modulate bone metabolism related gene expression level of rat femoral tissue in vitro, and can increase calcium content and the activity of ALP.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of pH value and fluoride ions on the corrosion resistance of pure Ti and Ni-Cr-Ti alloy in the artificial saliva.
METHODSElectrochemical technique was used to measure the electric potential of corrosion (Ecorr), current density of corrosion (Icorr) and polarization resistance (Rp) of pure titanium and Ti-Ni-Cr alloy in the artificial saliva with different pH value and fluoride concentrations. After electrochemical analysis, microstructure and phase diffraction were examined by FSEM.
RESULTSWith the lower pH value, the Ecorr and Icorr of pure titanium and Ti-Ni-Cr alloy increased, the Rp decreased, there was a significant difference (P<0.05). The Ecorr and Icorr increased markedly, the Rp significantly reduced in the artificial saliva containing 0.2% NaF (P<0.01). FSEM showed that pure titanium and Ti-Ni-Cr alloy surface corrosion, pure titanium in the artificial saliva containing 0.2% NaF was most serious.
CONCLUSIONLower pH value decreases the corrosion resistance of pure titanium and Ti-Ni-Cr alloy and the artificial saliva containing fluoride ions decreases the corrosion resistance of pure titanium.
