Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of dual-plate for treatment of comminuted distal humerus fractures in adult. Meth-ods 28 patients with distal humeral fractures were treated with condylar anatomical plate interal fixation. The supracondylar fracture was fixed with condylar anatomical plating, and the two plates were kept in 90°with each other. Results The 28 cases were followed up average-ly 26 months (12 to 34 months). All fractures healed and there was no delayed union or nonunion cases. According to Cassebaum scoring system, there were 9 cases of excellent,14 cases of good, 4 cases of moderate and 1 case of bad. According to Morrey-Chao scoring system, there were 16 cases of cases,11 cases of good. The average time of bone healing was 10 weeks. Conclusion In treatment of comminuted distal humerus fractures in adult, open reduction and dual-plate internal fixation can get good clinical results. The placement of the dual-plate may depend on surgeon experience and preference and the fracture pattern present.

Objective To observe the induction of tolerogenic dendritic cells (DCs) by curcumin (Cur) and its mechanism.Methods After immature DCs from bone marrow cells of Wistar rats were treated with different concentrations of Cur (0,10,20 and 30?mol/L) respectively,and then the DCs were tested by flow cytometry for the surface molecules expression.After the immature DCs were treated by 30?mol/L Cur with or without stimulation of LPS,endocytosis of DCs to dextran was tested by flow cytometry.The production of IL-12 in DC culture supernatant was determined by ELISA.The levels of NF-?B p65 and RelB translocation to the nucleus were investigated by Western- blot.The activity of NF-?B was detected by NF-?B-binding ELISA and luciferase reporter gene analy- sis.The ability of DCs to stimulate the proliferation of T cells from Lewis rats were analyzed by mixed leukocyte reactions (MLR).Results Cur suppressed LPS-indueed cell-surface expression of costimu- latory molecules (CD80,CD86 and CD40) in a dose-dependent manner.When Cur was used at a con- centration of 30?mol/L,there was no marked difference in the surface molecules expression of LPS- inducing DCs as compared with immature DCs.After DCs were induced by LPS (LPS group),the positive rate of FITC-Dextran uptake was (36.6?7.2)%,and the secretory amounts of IL-12 were (415.9?42.7) pg/ml.In DCs of LPS group,the intranuclear RelB and p65 were highly expressed and their DNA binding activity was 0.65?0.08 and 0.74?0.07 respectively.The luciferase activity of reporter gene in LPS group DCs was remarkably increased to 435% as compared with that in the controls.DCs in LPS group showed strong capacity to stimulate T cells proliferation.When DCs were treated with 30?mol/L Cur followed by induction with LPS (Cur+LPS group),the positive rate of Dextran uptake was (78.6?14.2)% and remarkably higher than in LPS group (P

Objective To investigate the effects of surgery-induced menopause on neuropsychological symptoms in women with perimenopause. Methods Sixty-eight women with perimenopause who underwent bilateral oophorectomy for benign indications were evaluated by the modified Kupperman index on the perimenopause syndrome pre-and post-surgery,including the score in neuropsychological symptoms.Patients were further requested to remake a decision on the acceptance of surgery,and were divided into "accept the surgery" group(n=30) and "postpone the surgery" group(n=38).The neuropsychological symptoms were reevaluated and comparison was made between these two groups. Results The prevalence of perimenopause syndrome pre-surgery was 67.65%(22/68),and that of moderate and severe symptoms was 30.88%.The prevalence of perimenopause syndrome post-surery(97.06%)(66/68)was significantly increased,as well as that of moderate and severe symptoms(70.59%)(P

BACKGROUND:Adipose-derived stem cels under osteogenic induction can be combined with biodegradable silk fibroin/hydroxyapatite scaffold, which is expected to develop a new biocompatible and osteogenic bone fusion material. OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of silk fibroin/hydroxyapatite composite on the viability and osteogenic properties of adipose-derived stem cels after osteogenic induction. METHODS:Adipose-derived stem cels were obtained from rat’s fat tissue, then adherently cultured, proliferated and passaged in vitro. Passage 3 cels were cultured in conditioned medium for osteogenic induction, and then seeded onto silk fibroin/hydroxyapatite scaffold as experimental group. Adipose-derived stem cels cultured on the cover glasses at the same condition acted as control group. The celular morphology, proliferation and differentiation were assessed respectively by means of phase contrast microscope, MTT assay and alkaline phosphatase activity measurement. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After osteogenic induction, adipose-derived stem cels could adhere to the scaffold material and proliferate on the surface of silk fibroin/hydroxyapatite scaffold normaly. No significant difference was found in cel proliferation and alkaline phosphatase activity between the experimental and control groups (P > 0.05), suggesting the celular activity and function were not affected by the material. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the features of orbital fracture and to discuss its forensic expertise points. METHODS: One hundred and thirty cases of simple orbital fracture from 2010 to 2012 collected from one public security bureau were retrospectively analyzed such as age, gender, tools, position and morphology of the fracture, periorbital and orbital compound injury and the follow-up results after 6 months. RESULTS: In the 130 cases, the wounded were mainly young men and hit by fist. The fracture of simple medial orbital wall accounted for up to 81.5% in all cases. In the periorbital and orbital compound injury, laceration and contusion of eyelid and ethmoidal cellules and maxillary sinus always occurred. After 6 months follow-up, there were 30 cases of comminuted fracture remained enophthalmos compared with the uninjured side. CONCLUSION It is inappropriate to judge the fracture of simple medial orbital wall as minor injury. We should judge the degree of simple orbital fracture after the injury is stable. Detailed ophthalmology inspection is necessary for forensic expertise of simple orbital fracture.

Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of recombinant human interleukin-11 (rnIL-11) in the treatment of thrombocytopenia induced by chemoradiotherapy in patients with solid tumor.Methods Solid tumor patients whose PLT count was lower than 50 × 109/L from December 2010 to December 2012 in PLA general hospital of Chengdu Commond were studied.They were divided into two groups randomly.The observed group was given subcutaneous injection of recombinant human interleukin-11 (Ⅰ) at the dose of 25 g · kg-1 · d-1,until the PLT rising subsolute value was more than 50 × 109/L.The control group was given usual treatment.The vital signs,hepatorenal function,coagulation function and cardio-pulmonary function of the patients were recorded during the whole process of treatment.Results The patients after chemotherapy had the platelet lowest average of (27.4 ± 7.6) × 109/L,and the average of the control group was (28.1 ± 7.9) × 109/L.The difference was not statistically significant (t =1.083,P ＞ 0.05),but treatment after the observation of elevated had the platelet highest average of (116.3 ± 22.8) × 109/L,which was significantly higher than that of (76.2 ± 21.3) × 109/L; the difference was significant (t =21.092,P ＜ 0.05).Platelets of patients in the observation group were ＜50 × 109/L for several days with an average of (4.3 ± 1.7) d,while platelets rose from the lowest value of the average absolute value greater than 50 000 hours (6.8 ± 2.4) d,shorter than the control group.By comparing the two groups,the differences were significant (t =11.347,P ＜ 0.05 ; t =15.196,P ＜ 0.05).Two groups of patients can tolerate adverse reactions.Ⅲ,Ⅳ degree of adverse reaction was not observed.Conclusion This study shows that rhIL-11 is well tolerated and has thrombopoietic activity in the treatment of thrombocytopenia.

Situational teaching method was implemented in clinical teaching of obstetrics and gynecology. The basis of situational teaching was established through the establishment of a typical teaching case library. Students' impression of disease diagnosis and treatment was strengthened by simulation. The students' enthusiasm was improved by their own diagnosis and treatment through the teacher's guidance. With the method of situational teaching, students had better knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, and their clinical diagnosis and treatment capacity was improved. Situational teaching method can improve the quality of teaching and it is worthy being popularized in clinical teaching of obstetrics and gynecology.

Objective Toexplore the correlation of ApoE gene polymorphism and serum uric acid levels in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region , China.Methods A case-control study.October 2011 to November 2011, five hundred twenty eight ( 296 male, 232 female ) apparently healthy individuals were studied.Questionnaires and physical examinations were performed by standard operation procedure.Fasting blood was collected for biochemistry testing including serum lipid parameters , uric acid concentration and creatinine levels.The multi-ARMS PCR was applied to determine ApoE genotypes ,and the relation of ApoE genotypes with serum lipid parameters and uric acid levels were analyzed.Non-normal distribution were compared using cause and inspection.Results The common six kinds of ApoE genotype can be detected.The total cholesterol ( TC) ,low density lipoprotein cholesterol ( LDL-C) and uric acid ( UA) levels in different genotype subgroups had statistical differences.The individuals with ε2/3 genotype had a significantly greater reductions in TC and LDL-C levels but increment in uric acid concentration than those withε3/3 and ε3/4 genotype (P<0.05).The effect of ApoE gene polymorphism on uric acid levels still remained significantly after adjustment for age , gender , region and other factors.Conclusion The ApoE polymorphism is associated with serum uric acid levels and individuals with ε2 allele have higher serum uric acid levels.

Objective To study the clinical characteristics and diagnosis of the solid-psendopapillary tumor of pancreas (SPT).Methods The clinical data of 40 SPT from January 1996 to January 2008 were retrospectively analyzed. The average age was (32.9 + 13.6 )years. The average clinical course was (8.6±0.1) months.Clinical symptoms usually included distensible pains and secret anguish in abdomen (60.0%).No jaundice appeared in any case.Results The surgical resection was favorable for the treatment of SPT,which had excellent prognosis.No tumor recurrence were found in those following-up patients. Grossly,the cut surface showed areas of solid and papillary tissue,cystic degeneration,hemorrhage,and necrosis.Pathological features included a combination of solid and cystic components with pseudopapillae formation and degenerative regions without glands.Conclusions SPT has its uniquely clinical and pathological characteristics.Its main diagnosed points are helpful for clinical doctors to make timely diagnosis and reduce the rate of misdiagnosis and mistreatment.
