Objective To evaluate the marginal microleakage in class Ⅱ-restorations after use of targis inlay. Methods Ten extracted human molar teeth were prepared for MO(mesio-occlusal) and DO(disto-occlsa) cavities. In one type of cavity gingival margin was placed above the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ). In another type gingival margin was placed below the CEJ. Cavities were filled with targis inlays. All teeth were thermocycled 200 times between 0℃ and 56℃. Finally, all teeth were cut in mesial-distal direction with a band saw and the numbers of walls of cavities were determined under scanning electron microscope. Results There was no any microleakage in occlusal margin. The number of inlay microleakage of gingival margin placed below CEJ (30 %) was more than that of gingival margin placed above the CET (10 %) ( P

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of cerebral infarction accompanied with central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCP).Methods The clinical data of a patient with cerebral infarction and CSCP were reviewed retrospectively. Results The patient was a middle-aged male and mainly presented with dizzy, dystaxia on walking and dysopia. However,he had no history of hypertation, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and related vasculitis.Brain MRI scanning showed infarction in cerebellar hemisphere.Fluorescein eyeground angiography demonstrated the leakage focus on the retina of right eye.All of the presentations were obviously remissive with the treatments of improving micro-vascular circulation and nerve nourishment. Conclusion For those cases of cerebral infarction without related risk factors of cerebral stroke but presenting with dysopia, the possibility of CSCP should be considered.

Objective: To study the color in ShoFu colormeter plate. Methods: The values of color degree of the cervical, body and incisal end of various teeth in the ShoFu colormeter plate were measured by digital camera and analyzed by computer using CIE1976L*a*b* system and JISZ8722 standard. Results: In ShoFu plate the brightness in the cervical, body and incisal end of various teeth changed following a certain rule, the brightness in group R and VR were higher than that in group A. While the values of color degree in other groups changed without any rule. Conclusion: The digital camera and computer may be used in dental color study.

Objective To explore change of peripheral blood CD5+B cells in the systemic lupus ery- thematosus(SLE)patients and the association of this change with the disease activity,Methods The percent- age of CD5~+B ceils in peripheral blood in 57 patients with SLE and 35 healthy controls was determined by flow eytometry.Levels of anti-dsDNA,complement C3 and C4,anti-nuclear antibody(ANA),anticardiolipin anti- body(ACL),were also measured. Results The percentage of CD5~+B cell in SLE patients(2.1?0.4)% was high- er than that in normal controls [(1.5?0.4)%](P<0.05).In active disease group, the percentage of CD5~+B cells [(2.5?0.5)%] was significantly higher than that in inactive SLE patients [(1.4?0.5)% ](P<0.01).The percent- age of CD5~+B cell associated with anti-dsDNA,ANA,ALA positively, with C3 negatively and had no associa- tion with C4.Conclusion The percentage of CD5~+B cells in the SLE is significantly high and has correlation and some relationship with the SLE.

Objective To examine the effectiveness of cognitive therapy on orthodontic patients with body image disturbance (BID).Methods 21 orthodontic patients with BID in study group re ceived routine orthopedic treatment and cognitive therapy, and 15 orthodontic patients with BID in control group received only routine orthopedic treatment. All patients were tested with Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90),Cognitive Bias Questionnaire (CBQ),Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS),and Body Image Questionnaire (BIQ) at prior and post treatment. Results SAS and SDS scores in the study group were decreased after treatment, and SDS decrease in the study group was larger than that in control group. The factor scores of both groups on the SCL- 90were decreased after treatment, and most factor scores decrease in study group was larger than that in control group.Three dimensions (except for function impairment) of the BIQ were improved in the study group as compared with control group.Cognitive styles were improved on the study group as compared with control group. Conclusions The cognitive therapy can improve cognitive bias and mental health of patients with BID.

AIM:To study intravenous transplantation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) on the life span and pathological change of SOD1-G93A amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) mice. METHODS:hMSCs were cultured and expanded from heparinized bone marrow cells from healthy donors and the purity and features were identified with FCM. hMSCs (3×10~6) resuspended in 0.3 mL DMEM or 0.3 mL DMEM only were injected into the tail vein of genotyped SOD1-G93A ALS mice. The mice were evaluated for signs of motor deficit with 4-point scoring system according to Weydt and the onset and life span were assessed. The pathological change was observed with Nissl staining and number of motor neuron was counted. RESULTS:The onset symptoms in untreated SOD1-G93A ALS mice appeared at (156.6±3.6) d of age and the average life span was (188.3±3.5) d. hMSCs transplantation delayed the onset of ALS type symptoms about 14 d and prolonged the life span about 18 d compared to the untreated SOD1-G93A littermates. The loss of motor neurons in untreated mice was much faster and severer than that in hMSCs transplanted mice. At 16 th week and 20 th week, motor neurons of untreated mice were significantly fewer than those of transplanted mice. β-globin gene in brain was detected in transplanted ALS mice. CONCLUSION:hMSCs migrate to central nervous system after intravenous transplantation, prolong the life span and delay the onset and motor neuron loss in SOD1-G93A ALS mice.
